2 Registration Process Apply online - EGTC Application. Apply for financial aid and the Emily Griffith scholarship on the Financial Aid and Scholarships Emily Griffith Technical Complete the practice reading and math tests that are available through the EGTC Testing Center. Scroll down to the Practice Test Tab. Come to Testing Center on 6th floor of 1860 Lincoln to complete your assessment tests EGTC Testing Center. Reading and math may be completed on different days.

3 Registration Process (Cont d) Watch orientation video. Register for your program courses. Pay or set up a payment plan. Save your receipt. Start on your portfolio for the first day of class.

4 Portfolio Check List The following are required the first day of class: Assessment reading and math results Minimum reading 10.0, minimum math 7.0 Dexterity test results Receipt for tuition paid Order a background check from American Data Bank listing area of study as Medical Assistant. Cost is $59.

5 Portfolio Check List (Cont d) Two professional letters of recommendation including contact information High school diploma or GED test results American Heart Association CPR Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification. 6 Portfolio Check List (Cont d) Physical exam completed within 60 days of the first day of class including: Proof of two measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccinations or titer test indicating immunity for each Proof of negative TB test (available at Denver Health, 605 Bannock, $20) or from your healthcare provider Proof of the first Hepatitis B vaccination in the series of three. Schedule the second one in 30 days. Proof of recent varicella (chickenpox) vaccination

7 Background Check Disqualifying offenses include: Any violent felony conviction of homicide (no time limits). Crimes of violence (assault, arson, kidnapping, any crime against an at-risk adult or juvenile, etc.) in the 10 years immediately preceding the submittal of application.

8 Background Check (Cont d) Disqualifying offenses include: (Cont d) Any offense involving unlawful sexual behavior in the 10 years immediately preceding the submittal of application. Any crime, the underlying basis of which has been found to include an act of domestic violence, in the 7 years immediately preceding the submittal of application Any crime of child abuse in the 7 years immediately preceding the application

9 Background Check (Cont d) Disqualifying offenses include: Any crime related to the sale, possession, distribution or transfer of narcotics or controlled substances in the 7 years preceding the application Any felony theft crimes in the 7 years preceding the application Any misdemeanor theft crimes in the 5 years immediately preceding the submittal of application

10 Background Check (Cont d) Disqualifying offenses include: Any sexual assault on a client by a psychotherapist in the 7 years immediately preceding the submittal of application Crimes of moral turpitude (prostitution, public lewdness/exposure, etc.) in the 7 years immediately preceding the submittal of application Registered sex offenders (no time limit)
