4 General Information About this document This document has been produced to provide potential customers with information on the hosting packages offered by QiQ. We aim to provide informative information on QiQ and the services we offer. About QiQ QiQ was established in The company has offered web-hosting services to large and small businesses since this time. QiQ has developed and hosts web sites for royal institutions, charities, aviation authorities, security companies around the globe. QiQ operates Net4Nowt.com, a directory of Internet Service Providers (which has been classed as one of the top 100 web sites in the UK by Practical Internet magazine) and L-mail.com, an online letter writing service. QiQ uses servers located in professionally managed data centres with onsite staff available 24 hours a day. QiQ: Support QiQ is an Anglo Australian business with representation in both the UK and Sydney, Australia. As a result support requests are dealt with efficiently around the clock from these two locations. To enable us to route support requests to the appropriate personnel we ask that support tickets are raised through our online support system. Microsoft FrontPage Extensions If you have used Microsoft FrontPage to design your website you will need to install the Microsoft FrontPage Extensions. You can also remove the Extensions using this tool. Website Password Protection This feature allows you to password protect a directory on your website. By keeping the password a secret you can let only people who have the password into this area. Edit Website Password Protection This feature allows you to add, remove and update users for an already-passwordprotected area of your site. MySQL Databases (version ) MySQL is a true multi-user, multi-threaded SQL (Structured Query Language) database server. SQL is the most popular database language in the world. MySQL is a client/server implementation that consists of a server daemon (mysqld) and many different client programs and libraries. MySQL databases are limited to 100MB in size. Change Your Password This feature allows you to change your password for FTP, FrontPage and SSH. Backup Your Website This feature allows you to download your website as a zip file, you can use this feature to make a regular backup of your website in case you lose any data. Restore Your Website This feature allows you to attempt to restore a backup zip file that you have made using QiQ. Sub Domains Sub domains allow you to have a new web address for separate areas of your website, for example you could have support.qiq.co.uk and point this at your qiq.co.uk/support/ directory. You can use sub domains in conjunction with additional FTP accounts. SSH Server Access SSH server access allows you to log directly into the server your website is hosted on and manipulate site using Linux commands. Additional FTP Accounts Additional FTP accounts are most commonly used to give others access to an account for the purpose of sharing a web development project - without giving them control over the entire website. By restricting their access to their home directory, you can ensure they can only modify files within this particular space. Site Submission Submit your site to 10 search engines. IP Address Blocking Block certain IP addresses from visiting your website. Website Directory Auto-Indexing Show the content of your web directories as file listings or show them as a 403 forbidden error. 8

Not only does this mean that we are very unlikely to lose connectivity to the Internet but it also means that traffic moving to and from our network can choose from a range of paths to get to its final destination, this means that we have been able to configure the network to always take the fastest paths.
