1 Kaplan University Scholarships Kaplan University is committed to helping our students achieve their academic goals. We offer several new scholarships and grants for first-time enrolling students. You could save $250 to $750 per term on most undergraduate degree programs, up to $12,750. No repayment is required. Terms and conditions apply. Choose a scholarship from below that you may be eligible for and submit your application along with any required support documents to your Admissions Advisor. It is not necessary to reapply for this scholarship each term as long as you maintain your eligibility. Active-duty military, veterans, and master s students are not eligible for this scholarship. Please speak with the Financial Aid Office to discuss if and how the increased credit load could impact your financial aid packaging. Also, speak with them to understand what financial implications would apply if you fail to maintain a CGPA of 3.0 or above. Call your Academic Advisor to register for additional class(es). 3 Accelerated Scholars Award Terms and Conditions Consent Page Award description This award was created to encourage students who wish to increase course load each quarter by providing a tuition credit equal to 25 percent off one 5- or 6-credit course. General eligibility criteria to qualify for the accelerated SCHOLARS AWARD Must have completed a minimum of one term of study at Kaplan University and attained a CGPA of 3.0. Must take 15 or more credits per term and maintain a CGPA of 3.0. Must be continuously enrolled; withdrawing will result in ineligibility. Other terms and conditions Students will be notified of a scholarship award upon receipt and verification of all official application materials at the start of the new term. The Scholarship can only be used for tuition and will not provide any direct cash benefit to a student. The Scholarship cannot be used in conjunction with any other Kaplan University discount, voucher, grant, or scholarship. 5 Achievement Scholarship Terms and Conditions Consent Page Award description The Kaplan University Achievement Scholarship is equal to a $750 per-term reduction in the program tuition, with a maximum value of $12,750 toward a bachelor s degree or $6,750 toward an associate s degree. General eligibility criteria to qualify for the achievement scholarship Must be a first-time enrollee in an undergraduate degree program at Kaplan University; continuing and certificate program students are not eligible. Must meet all Kaplan University admissions requirements for online undergraduate degree programs, including GED or high school equivalent, and be fully accepted into one of the Kaplan University online undergraduate degree programs. Must provide an unofficial or official transcript that confirms successful completion of at least 20 quarter credits (or the equivalent of 13 semester credits; for nursing students, an associate s degree in nursing or a nursing diploma) of prior postsecondary college-level coursework in a bachelor s or associate s degree program at an accredited institution other than Kaplan University. Must have achieved a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least a 3.0 out of 4.0 on the submitted prior coursework.* Other terms and conditions The Achievement Scholarship application must be provided at or before the time of enrollment. Unofficial or official transcript must be provided prior to the end of the fourth week of the first term to be eligible for the scholarship. If the transcript is not provided prior to the end of the fourth week of the first term, the student is not eligible for the Achievement Scholarship and will be responsible for all applicable tuition costs per Kaplan University policy. Students must take a minimum of two courses per term (for Bachelor of Science in Nursing students, one course in the term in which NU 300 is taken). The Achievement Scholarship cannot be used in conjunction with any other Kaplan University discount, voucher, grant, or scholarship. continued ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS To remain eligible for future terms, students must maintain a CGPA of 2.5 out of 4.0 for all undergraduate degree programs, with the exception of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, where students must maintain a CGPA of 3.7 out of 4.0 for the duration of their program at Kaplan University to maintain the award. If the student was awarded the scholarship and does not maintain a 2.5 CGPA (3.7 for Bachelor of Science in Nursing students), he or she will not be eligible to receive the scholarship in future terms. The student must remain in good financial standing with Kaplan University. All required documents must be on file at Kaplan University for the Scholarship to be awarded. Must be continuously enrolled; students who withdraw will no longer be eligible for the Achievement Scholarship. Note: Scholarship disbursement eligibility cannot be regained by the student once it is lost. 7 Criminal Justice, Fire Science, and Emergency Services Scholarship Terms and Conditions Consent Page Award description Criminal Justice Certificate Programs: $500 per term, with total amount of award not to exceed $1,500. Associate of Applied Science or Advanced Start Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, Associate of Applied Science or Advanced Start Bachelor of Science in Fire Science, and Advanced Start Bachelor of Science in Fire and Emergency Management Programs: $500 per term, with total amount of award not to exceed $4,500. Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, Bachelor of Science in Fire Science, and Bachelor of Science in Fire and Emergency Management Programs: $500 per term, with total amount of award not to exceed $8,500. 9 75th Anniversary Grant Terms and Conditions Consent Page Award description The Kaplan University 75th Anniversary Grant is equal to a $250 per-term reduction in the program tuition, with a maximum value of $4,250 for a bachelor s degree and $2,250 for an associate s degree. General eligibility criteria to qualify for the 75th anniversary grant Must be a first-time enrollee in an undergraduate degree program at Kaplan University; School of Nursing, certificate, and continuing students are not eligible. Must meet all current admissions requirements for the online undergraduate degree program at Kaplan University. Must complete the Kaplan University 75th Anniversary Grant application. Must take a minimum of 2 courses per term and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5. Must be continuously enrolled; withdrawing from school will result in ineligibility. 11 Employment Bridge Scholarship Terms and Conditions Consent Page Award description The Kaplan University Bridge Scholarship is equal to a $500 per-term reduction in the program tuition, with a maximum value of $8,500 for a bachelor s degree and $4,500 for an associate s degree. General eligibility criteria to qualify for the employment bridge scholarship Must be a first-time enrollee in an undergraduate degree program at Kaplan University; School of Nursing, certificate, and continuing students are not eligible. Must meet all current admissions requirements for the online undergraduate degree program at Kaplan University. Must be currently dislocated from the workforce at the time of the application per the definitions of this Scholarship. Must provide proof of unemployment at the time of application in one of the following ways: º Unemployment benefits letter or check stub º Letter from state unemployment agency in your state of residence Must attest to unemployment at the time of application for the Scholarship. Must complete the Kaplan University Employment Bridge Scholarship application. Must take a minimum of 2 courses per term and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5. 15 Single-Parent Scholarship Terms and Conditions Consent Page Award description The Kaplan University Single-Parent Scholarship is a $500 per-term tuition reduction, with a maximum value of $8,500 for a bachelor s degree or $4,500 for an associate s degree. General eligibility criteria to qualify for the single-parent scholarship Must be a first-time enrollee in an undergraduate degree program at Kaplan University; School of Nursing, certificate, and continuing students are not eligible. Must meet all current admissions requirements for the online undergraduate degree program at Kaplan University. Must provide proof that you are a single parent via one of the following ways: º Verification via the FAFSA as a single parent º Another form of documentation suitable to Kaplan University that would prove single-parent status Must attest to single parent status at the time of application for the scholarship. Must complete the Kaplan University Single-Parent Scholarship application. Must take a minimum of 2 courses per term and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5. Must be continuously enrolled; withdrawing from school will result in ineligibility. 17 Success Scholarship Terms and Conditions Consent Page Award description The Kaplan University Success Scholarship is equal to a $500 per-term reduction in the program tuition, with a maximum value of $8,500 toward a bachelor s degree or $4,500 toward an associate s degree. General eligibility criteria to qualify for the SUccess scholarship The student must be a first-time enrollee in an online undergraduate degree program at Kaplan University. School of Nursing, continuing, and certificate program students are not eligible. The student must meet all Kaplan University admissions requirements for online undergraduate degree programs, including GED or high school equivalent, and be accepted into one of the Kaplan University undergraduate programs. The student must have completed a minimum of 20 quarter credits at a regionally or nationally accredited institution other than Kaplan University. The CGPA from the student s submitted prior coursework must be at least 2.5 out of 4.0. * Other terms and conditions The Success Scholarship application must be provided prior to or at the time of enrollment. Unofficial or official transcript must be provided prior to the end of the fourth week of the first term to be eligible for the Scholarship. If the transcript is not provided prior to the end of the fourth week of the first term, the student is not eligible for the Success Scholarship and will be responsible for full tuition costs. The student must take a minimum of two courses per term. The Scholarship cannot be used in conjunction with any other Kaplan University discount, voucher, grant or scholarship. continued eligibility To remain eligible for future terms, undergraduate students must maintain a CGPA of 2.5 out of 4.0 for the duration of their program at Kaplan University. If the student was awarded the scholarship and does not maintain a 2.5 CGPA, he or she will not be eligible to receive the scholarship in future terms.
