2 THE RESTAURANT SERVICE Edisu restaurants are open to all university students and offer high quality food as well as variety. In case there are no university restaurants available close to your faculty, the service is available in restaurants under agreements with Edisu. The price (full or discounted) depends on student s economic situation. WHO QUALIFIES Restaurant service is open to all Italian and foreign students enrolled in Piedmont universities for the academic year 2013/14. The following may also be admitted into university restaurants: students enrolled in other Italian or foreign universities who are in Piedmont while travelling for study purposes or participating in international exchange or Agon programmes; lecturers, university staff and readers, including those working in other Italian or foreign universities; scholarship students from private research institutes, foundations and similar organisations, as well as participants in conferences, seminars and study programmes; any other users authorised by Edisu. HOW TO USE OUR SERVICES In order to have access to university restaurants and alternative restaurant services paying the full price, you need to show at restaurants one of the cards listed below. If you want to pay a discounted price you must fill the application form (check application modalities in How to apply section). 3 Smart Card by Sistema Universitario Piemontese (Piedmontese University System): with photograph and microchip issued by Università degli Studi, Politecnico di Torino and Università del Piemonte Orientale. This card allows you to access to Edisu university restaurants in Turin, Grugliasco and Alessandria and to alternative restaurant services in Turin and Piedmont. It works like a borsellino elettronico (electronic purse) and can be recharged at electronic recharge points (see the list on Edisu website). Magnetic strip card issued by universities (Athena card or Polytechnic ID card). Meals are paid by cash at the desk. only in Edisu university restaurants Edisu Smart Card with photograph and microchip, issued by Edisu offices if the student does not have a Smart Card issued by university. It works like an electronic purse which can be recharged at the electronic recharge points (see list on Edisu website). WHEN TO APPLY OR WHEN TO RENEW DISCOUNTED PRICE BRACKETS FOR 2013/2014 FIRST YEAR STUDENTS Students may apply from 1 st October Students enrolled for first year of master degree who applied for restaurant service in 2012/13 are allowed to the service until 31 st December The application for renewal can be presented from 1 st December INFO RESTAURANT SERVICE ACADEMIC YEAR 2013/2014 3

4 SUCCESSIVE YEARS Students who did not apply for restaurant service in 2012/13 can present the application from the 1 st October Students who applied for restaurant service in 2012/13 are allowed to the service until 31 st December The application for renewal can be presented from 1 st December Students who have already applied for 2013/2014 scholarships You do not need to apply again, as the service is already included in the scholarship application. If you have a University Smart Card or an Edisu Smart Card you need to go to an Edisu restaurant or to Edisu office to update your smart card. 5 ECONOMIC REQUIREMENTS In order to qualify for the discounted price the economic requirements are determined on the basis of the incomes and assets conditions of the student's immediate family. The maximum ISEE/ISEEU and ISPE/ISPEU levels are set within the price brackets table. Below these two limits it is possible to apply for restaurant service. If student exceed, even one of these limits, there will not be chance for discounts. STUDENTS WHO HAVE APPLIED FOR RESTAURANT SERVICE IN THE PAST Students (both EU and non-eu) who have already had access to restaurant service during the 2012/13 academic year and whose financial status has remained unchanged can confirm their financial status. Instead, students who applied for scholarship in the previous two years (2011/12 and 2012/13), but did not apply for scholarship in 2013/14, can confirm their financial status only for restaurant service application. In order to confirm your financial status, you must submit to Edisu the ISEE/ISEEU certificate. Therefore it is not possible to confirm data for students who in previous years only requested tax reduction to universities. STUDENTS APPLYING FOR RESTAURANT SERVICE FOR THE FIRST TIME OR MUST SUBMIT A NEW ISEE/ISEEU CERTIFICATE These students must hand in the ISEE certificate (or, where regulation requires it, the ISEEU) relates to 2012 incomes and assets of the immediate family by the ISEE/ISEEU certificates are issued free of charge by affiliated CAF offices. 6 MERIT REQUIREMENTS In order to have access to restaurant service students enrolled for years successive to the first must have achieved, at the moment of the application, 15 credits during the previous 12 months. Those credits have to be certified during the online application. Students enrolled part-time must have achieved 7 credits. First year students are not bound by any merit requirements. HOW TO APPLY EU STUDENTS WHO DO NOT CONFIRM THEIR ECONOMIC CONDITIONS Go to Edisu website log in Sportello on-line (online service) with you PIN code or, if you don t have a PIN, register with a CODICE UTENTE 2013 (USER CODE 2013) and access with it; fill in the online form. The application is considered completed as soon as you transmit online your data; print the form (if you have a CODICE UTENTE 2013) and hand it in to Edisu office, together with: a copy of your ID or passport, a copy of your ISEE/ISEEU certificate and your University Smart Card or Edisu Smart Card; if you log in with your PIN you just have to transmit the application online. The service will be activated within 24 hours. If you have a PIN and a Smart Card, you must update it at a card updating point located within Edisu restaurants or Edisu office. NON-EU STUDENTS WHO DO NOT CONFIRM THEIR ECONOMIC CONDITIONS All non-eu students who have new financial data (ISEE/ISEEU incomes and assets for 2012) must apply for restaurant service at Edisu offices and fill in the form, attaching the following documents: 6 INFO RESTAURANT SERVICE ACADEMIC YEAR 2013/2014

7 a copy of a valid residence permit, or a copy of the expired residence permit together with a copy of the request for renewal; the documents listed below, depending on student s immediate family situation DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOREIGN STUDENTS FROM NON-EU COUNTRIES must provide specific documents issued by authorities of their country of origin, attesting the financial status of their immediate family (incomes and assets for 2012). Furthermore, these students must deliver a copy of their visa and their residence permit (or a copy of the expired residence permit together with a copy of the request for renewal). Foreign students whose immediate families reside abroad: These students must submit declarations or certificates on unstamped paper issued by the competent authorities of their countries of origin which attest: - the composition of the immediate family; - the incomes of the immediate family in 2012; - the assets of the immediate family by the 31/12/2012. In case of existence of real estate assets, the surface area must be specified in square meters. Foreign students whose family is resident in Italy: These students must submit, in addition to documents indicating the household s income produced in Italy (ISEE/ ISEEU), the appropriate documents issued by authorities in their country of origin. Those documents should attest the existence or non-existence of assets related to the entire immediate family by the Whereas real estate assets exist, the surface area must be specified in square meters. 8 TRANSLATION AND LEGALIZATION OF DOCUMENTS Documents must be issued by the competent authorities of the foreign country where the income and assets have been produced and submitted exclusively in original copies. The documents must be translated into Italian by an official translator and follow the country s internal legalization procedures. The final legalization attests the conformity of the translated documents and confers their validity abroad. The legalization must be obtained from the Italian diplomatic mission in the country (Legalisation Office at the Consulate or the Embassy). In case of real difficulties regarding the process of legalization or issue of the required documents in the country of origin, these can be claimed at the foreign diplomatic and consular representatives in Italy. Thereafter, the documents must be legalized at the Legalization Office of the Prefecture. Please note that the foreign diplomatic representatives in Italy are not always able to produce certificates regarding the incomes and assets status of the immediate family. We recommend to get information in advance so as to be able to request the documents from the competent administrations within the deadlines. EU AND NON-EU STUDENTS WHO CONFIRM THEIR ECONOMIC CONDITIONS (ISEE/ISEEU CERTIFICATE SUBMITTED IN 2012/13): Students who CAN confirm their economic conditions can apply for restaurant service filling in the online form: Go to Edisu website log in Sportello on-line (online service) with you PIN code or, if you don t have a PIN, register with a CODICE UTENTE 2013 (USER CODE 2013) and access with it; fill in the online form, and remember to tick the box relative to the Conferma dati economici (economic data confirmation). 9 if you have a CODICE UTENTE 2013 (USER CODE 2013) you have to print the form and bring it to Edisu with a copy of your ID card or passport, a copy of your ISEE/ISEEU certificate and your Smart Card; if you have a PIN code and a magnetic strip card you just have to transmit online your application: the service will be activated in 24 hours. Instead, if you have a PIN code and a Smart Card you have to update your card at the updating points located within Edisu restaurant or at Edisu office. WARNING: Students applicant for scholarship, enrolled in years successive to the first, who result idoneo (eligible) or escluso con diritto a pasto gratuito ed esonero tasse (excluded with right to free meal and tax exemption) in the definitive classification list of scholarship, will enjoy the right to a free meal per day, the first of the day, in Edisu restaurants or in alternative services for the whole year Students applicant for scholarship as further semester, enrolled in years successive to the first, who result idoneo (eligible) or escluso con diritto a pasto gratuito ed esonero tasse (excluded with right to free meal and tax exemption) in the definitive classification list for scholarship, will enjoy the right to a free meal per day, the first of the day, in Edisu restaurants or in alternative services from 1 st January to 31 st March In order to get your free meal you have to update your Smart Card from January 2014 at the updating points located within Edisu restaurants or at Edisu office. You cannot update your Smart Card at the alternative services. Students who don t have the Smart Card (that is, students with the magnetic strip card or enrolled at Academy of Art or Conservatory) can ask for Edisu Smart Card at Edisu office. 10 PRICE BRACKETS Price brackets are established on the basis of ISEE and ISP information provided by the student, and for students enrolled in years successive to the first according to merit requirements (that is, the achievement of at least 15 credits during the last 12 calendar months). This service is available in 5 university restaurants in Turin (Via Borsellino 42, C.so Castelfidardo 30/A, Via Galliari 30, Lungo Dora Siena 102/B, Via Principe Amedeo 48), Grugliasco (Via Leonardo da Vinci 44) and Alessandria (Via Parma 36). 11 INTERNATIONAL EXCHANGE PROGRAMMES Students involved in international exchange or Agon programmes will be assigned to the first price bracket. Students possessor of magnetic strip card can access to Edisu University Restaurants upon the submission of a certification, issued by the host university, attesting the period of stay (or the date of arrival and the date of departure), the Department and the attended course. Students who don t possess a magnetic strip card have to go to Edisu s offices in order to receive a Smart Card which allow them to access to Edisu University Restaurants or restaurants under agreement with Edisu with a discounted price. In order to receive a Smart Card the students must submit a certification, issued by the host university, attesting the period of stay (or the date of arrival and the date of departure), the Department and the attended course. If the students have to extend their stay, they have to provide a further certificate, issued by the host university, which attests the details of the extension: otherwise, the card will be disabled. 13 UNIVERSITY RESTAURANTS There are 8 EDISU university restaurants in Piedmont, 5 of which are in Turin, 1 in Alessandria and 2 in Grugliasco. The restaurants provide menu choices which vary weekly and feature local specialities. Gluten free meals are available in our Castelfidardo, Galliari, Lungodora, Principe Amedeo restaurants. The service is provided upon the Smart Card. The required price will be automatically paid when a meal is purchased from an affiliated restaurant (according to the appropriate price bracket).
