1 CMB-207-1I Citrix XenApp and XenDesktp Fast Track This fast-paced curse prvides the fundatin necessary fr students t effectively centralize and manage desktps and applicatins in the datacenter and deliver them as a service t users anywhere. Students will learn hw t build XenApp and XenDesktp envirnments; assign virtual desktps; deliver published resurces and printers t users; use plicies t custmize farm settings and the user experience; and administer the envirnments. In additin, students will learn hw t build a Prvisining services farm t enable single-image desktp management. Audience This curse is intended fr IT prfessinals, such as server, netwrk, and systems administratrs familiar with Micrsft Windws envirnments, including Windws 2008 R2 administratrs. Existing Citrix XenApp administratrs interested in increasing their desktp virtualizatin skills with Citrix XenDesktp, are ideal candidates. Systems engineers, sales engineers, analysts, cnsultants, and architects are als apprpriate candidates fr this curse. Instructinal Methd This curse is ffered as an instructr-led training curse that fcuses n the practical applicatin f XenApp and XenDesktp cncepts and administrative tasks thrugh hands-n exercises in a lab envirnment. Students are expected t self-study select mdules f the curse cntent after classrm hurs each day. Regularly scheduled Questin and Answer sessins will ccur daily t address students questins arising frm the self-study sessins. Preparatry Recmmendatins Befre taking this curse, Citrix recmmends that students have a basic understanding f the fllwing technlgies: Micrsft Windws Server 2008 R2 and Remte Desktp Services Netwrk and strage devices, device drivers, and perating systems Netwrking cncepts, such as DNS, DHCP, IIS, lad balancing, and file and printing services Active Directry and grup plicy Server, desktp, and applicatin virtualizatin cncepts Citrix XenApp Key Skills Upn cmpletin f this curse, students will be able t: Install and cnfigure a Citrix license server, imprt Citrix licenses, cnfigure license mnitring, and view license usage trends. Install and cnfigure Citrix XenApp t create a new farm r jin an existing farm. Create administratr accunts and assign custm administrative permissins t the accunts. Cnfigure the lgging f administrative changes t a database. Create and apply wrker grups that simplify the administratin f published resurces and plicies. Install the Web Interface rle. Create and cnfigure XenApp Web and XenApp Services web sites. Custmize the layut, cntent, and appearance f a XenApp Web site. Publish applicatin and server desktp resurces fr access by users and verify that wrkspace cntrl wrks crrectly. View and manage user sessins frm the administrative cnsle. Install prfiling sftware, prfile an applicatin fr streaming, and link dependent prfiles t allw interactin between streamed applicatins. Publish a streamed applicatin and verify that the streamed applicatin wrks crrectly. Create plicies t imprve perfrmance, restrict user access, and shadw user sessins. Test plicies t verify that they prduce the desired effect.
