2 Basis of contract The insurance contract made with Tryg represents the policy, any endorsements and the insurance terms and conditions. Furthermore, the Danish Financial Business Act and the Danish Insurance Contracts Act apply to the extent that these have not been derogated from. Further information about this insurance can be found at or How to read the insurance terms and conditions The different types of cover in the insurance terms and conditions include the following sections: The insurance covers The insurance does not cover Indemnity/compensation See also the general terms and conditions in section 100. In the terms and conditions a number of words/terms have been marked with an asterisk (*). This means that these words/terms have been explained in the definitions. Page 2 of 38

3 100 General terms and conditions 101 Scope of cover The insurance covers: - Business trips abroad - Combined personal and business trips - Paid work*. - Dangerous sport* - Entry into a country/area outside the country of residence in which war, war-like circumstances, violation of neutrality, civil war, insurrection or civil unrest exist. However, cover is conditional upon the Insured not taking part in the acts. Furthermore, reference is made to the limitations stipulated in section 622 Evacuation and section 632 Crisis counselling. - Business trips in the country of residence. Payment of compensation is conditional upon the business trip taking place outside the municipality where the employee s permanent place of employment is located. Further, it is a condition that the business trip involves minimum one overnight stay outside the Insured s home. 102 Who is covered The insurance covers: - Persons travelling in the interest of the enterprise - The Insured s spouse/cohabitee* and/or children below the age of 18 who are travelling with the Insured. 103 Geographical area The insurance covers trips: - Worldwide - Abroad from the country of residence of the Insured - In the country of residence. 104 Period of insurance The period of insurance is the number of days of the planned trip according to the documentation The following applies in connection with a trip: - The insurance takes effect at the time when the Insured leaves his/her home/residence* or place of work in order to travel. - The insurance terminates at the time when the Insured returns to his/her home/residence* or place of work in the country of residence The following applies to the cancellation cover: Page 3 of 38

4 - The insurance covers cancellation of business trips or combined personal and business trips abroad. - In connection with a trip, the insurance takes effect when the enterprise has booked the trip abroad, however not earlier than at the time when the advance payment has been made. - The insurance terminates when the Insured leaves his/her home/residence* or place of work in order to travel abroad. 105 Payment of the premium The first premium is payable, when the insurance takes effect. Subsequent premiums are payable at the anniversary dates or dates of amendment stated in the policy. In addition and together with the premium, duties (e.g. Insurance Premium Tax) as well as fees and other costs are collected The premium is collected by way of BetalingsService (PBS), giro or where agreed in another way. The Policyholder shall pay all expenses connected with the collection and payment of the premium. The demand note will be sent to the address of payment informed to Tryg. Where the address of payment is changed, Tryg must be notified thereof immediately Where the premium is not paid on or before the final date of payment, Tryg will send a reminder with the information that the insurance cover will terminate if the premium is not paid within 21 days, at the latest, after the reminder has been sent Where a reminder is sent, including information on any statutory debt collection, Tryg is entitled to collect service charges, default interests and other costs. Furthermore, Tryg is entitled to collect a fee for the printing of documents and other services provided corresponding to the costs defrayed by Tryg in this connection. In case of an increase in these costs, Tryg is entitled to increase interests and fees in order for them to correspond to the actual costs. 106 Duration and cancellation of the insurance The insurance has been taken out for a period of one year, and it is renewed on a current basis for further one year at a time Both the Policyholder and Tryg may cancel the insurance giving one month's notice from expiry of the period of insurance In connection with a claim, both the Policyholder and Tryg may cancel the insurance giving 14 days' notice no later than one month after payment of the indemnity/compensation or the rejection of the claim. 5 107 The Insured's duty of information The Insured shall give Tryg the information which Tryg considers necessary in order to determine whether or not indemnity/compensation will be paid and to determine the size of the indemnity/compensation In connection with illness/injury, Tryg is entitled at any time to have information on the name, address and telephone number of hospitals, physicians and the like, i.e. persons who have knowledge about or who will acquire knowledge about the health of the person/persons causing the insurance event. Tryg s medical consultant is entitled to obtain information from the aforesaid and to present the information that Tryg has received Medical information will be treated confidentially. 108 Medical examination and autopsy In connection with illness/injury, Tryg is entitled to require that the Insured be examined by a physician chosen by Tryg In case of death, Tryg is entitled to require an autopsy of the Insured In such cases, Tryg will pay the fee for examinations, declarations and certificates which Tryg finds necessary for the claims handling In connection with examinations in the event of illness/injury, the insurance also covers reasonable expenses for transport, but not expenses for hotel accommodation and food*. 109 Payment of indemnity/compensation Indemnity/compensation will be paid when Tryg has received and assessed the information which Tryg finds necessary in order to determine whether or not indemnity/compensation will be paid and to determine the size of the indemnity/compensation Where the Insured can obtain indemnity/compensation from other sources, the insurance does not cover unless otherwise agreed with Tryg in writing. However, this does not apply to section 510 Permanent injury and section 520 Death In case of payment of indemnity/compensation, Tryg is subrogated to the Insured/Policyholder s rights Indemnity/compensation will be paid in Danish Kroner unless otherwise agreed with Tryg. 110 Insurance in another insurance company Where an insurance covering the same risk has been taken out with another insurance company, i.e. dual insurance, the other insurance company must also be notified of the claim. 6 Where another insurance company excludes or limits the liability to pay damages in connection with dual insurance, the same exclusions and limits apply to this insurance. The result is that Tryg and the other insurance company are to pay a proportionate indemnity/compensation. 111 Assignment of claims for damages No one may assign his/her rights pursuant to the insurance without Tryg's written consent. 112 General exclusions The insurance does not cover damage/injury which directly or indirectly results from the Insured s: - Intentional acts, gross negligent acts or omissions, unless it can be proved that the damage/injury has not occurred in connection with such acts. - Participation in fights, criminal offences, self-induced intoxication, self-induced influence of narcotics and other intoxicants or attempted suicide Irrespective of the Insured s state of mind or sanity at the time of the damage/injury, the exclusions in subs apply Furthermore, the insurance does not cover damage/injury which directly or indirectly results from: - Sequestration or nationalisation. - Nuclear reactions and radioactive decay, irrespective of whether such damage/injury occurs in times of peace or war. However, the insurance covers damage/injury caused by or occurring in connection with nuclear reactions applied for ordinary industrial, medical or scientific purposes. - Strike or lockout. - Attachment, sequestration or other intervention by the authorities. - Participation in expeditions, mountain climbing and rapelling on rock walls or professional sport* Expenses for legal assistance or other consultancy services are not covered. 113 Furthermore, see under the individual coverages. 114 Indexation Indexation is made in line with the wage index prepared by Statistics Denmark. Where the publication of this index ceases or where the basis of its calculation is changed, Tryg is entitled to use similar index published by Statistics Denmark The sums insured specified under each cover apply in Page 6 of 38

7 The sums insured and other amounts are indexed unless otherwise specified in the insurance terms and conditions or the policy The sums insured are not indexed in connection with - Funeral benefit, subs of the cover of death. - Liability for damage to rented house, flat, hotel room or the like, section Provision of guarantee, section The luggage cover subs and Personal liability, section Legal expenses, section The deductibles mentioned in subsections and are not indexed The sums insured are indexed every year on 1 January The premium is indexed once a year at the first due date of the calendar year. 115 Changes to the insurance terms and conditions and the premium rates At one month s notice from a due date, Tryg can change the terms and conditions and/or the premium for this insurance where Tryg s premium rates or insurance terms and conditions are changed for similar insurances. Changes resulting from indexation or statutory provisions are not considered changes to the premium and can be made without giving notice Where the Policyholder can not approve the change, the Policyholder can cancel the insurance giving written notice as from the date of the change. The right to cancellation does not apply to changes resulting from indexation or statutory provisions. 116 Change of ownership and liquidation The cover will cease in the event of change of ownership. Therefore, Tryg shall immediately be notified in case of change of ownership. Liquidation is considered change of ownership. 117 Venue and governing law Where disputes* in connection with the insurance agreement are brought before the courts, such disputes shall be settled pursuant to Danish law and by Danish courts. 8 200 Medical expenses and repatriation 201 The insurance covers The insurance covers treatment or repatriation of the Insured in case of acute illness*/injury Further, the insurance covers treatment of an acute worsening of a pre-existing illness/injury if the Insured s illness/injury was in a stable, good phase* prior to the departure. For trips in Europe*, the Insured s illness/injury must have been in a stable, good phase* for two months prior to the departure. For trips in other parts of the world, the Insured s illness/injury must have been in a stable, good phase* for six months prior to the departure. 202 The insurance does not cover The insurance does not cover: - Illness/injury insofar as symptoms thereof existed prior to the departure or insofar as such had been diagnosed by a physician prior to the departure, cf , however. - Where a relevant medical evaluation immediately prior to the departure states that a worsening of the pre-existing illness/injury may be expected to arise during the contemplated journey and the activities connected with that. - Where the Insured has refused medical treatment of the illness/injury before the period of insurance, or where medical treatment has been given up The insurance does not cover expenses for: - Convalescence stays or stays at a health resort. - Continued treatment if the Insured refuses to be repatriated when Tryg s medical consultant has decided that repatriation must take place. - Treatment after return to the country of residence. However, the Insured is covered during short stays in the country of residence provided that documentation exists that a return journey* has been planned by the Insured. - Treatment of illness/injury if the Insured after having been repatriated, travels abroad again without prior written agreement with Tryg. - Pregnancy examination, pregnancy tests, induced abortions, sterilisation, examinations/treatment of sterility. - Child delivery or complication of pregnancy occurring after the 35 th week of pregnancy. 203 Indemnity The insurance covers the expenses necessary for: - Hospital stays and treatment including operations and ambulance transportation* to the nearest place of treatment. - Medical treatment and medicine prescribed by a physician. - Physiotherapist and chiropractor treatments up to a maximum of DKK 18,970. 9 - Emergency dental treatment*. - Hotel accommodation and meals* when an extraordinary stay has been prescribed by a physician. - Ambulance transportation* to the country of residence or to the nearest place of treatment ordered by a physician. - Crisis assistance when acute illness*, death, robbery*, assault, accident, fire*, explosion or burglary has lead to an acute emotional crisis. - Consultation with a psychologist or psychiatrist after return to the country of residence with up to DKK 6,324 after prior agreement with a medical consultant from Tryg when the Insured has been subjected to a traumatic experience requiring further treatment in addition to the acute crisis assistance In addition, the insurance covers the expenses necessary for: - Escort approved by Tryg s medical consultant because the Insured is not capable of travelling on his/her own. - Transportation* to the country of residence or transportation to enable the Insured to catch up with the planned itinerary after a delay which has occurred because a hospital or hotel stay has been prescribed for the Insured by a physician In the event of the Insured s death, expenses for transportation of the deceased to the country of residence, including all expenses for statutory measures, are covered Indemnity is conditional upon the Insured s providing a medical certificate issued by the locally authorised physician in charge of treatment. The certificate must specify the diagnosis and the treatment given. Tryg Alarm must be notified immediately of any hospitalisation and/or extraordinary ambulance transportation* or any delayed repatriation. Tryg Alarm s medical consultant will then contact the hospital/physician in charge of treatment to agree on further treatment, transfers etc. If the illness or injury does not necessitate hospitalisation, the medical certificate, copies of any prescriptions, a list of the expenses accompanied by the original bills, and a claim shall be forwarded to Tryg. Tryg can provide guarantees or submit payment to the hospital/physician in charge of treatment. Page 9 of 38

10 300 Personal assistance 310 Compassionate emergency repatriation 311 The insurance covers The insurance covers where the Insured has to terminate the trip in order to go home to the country of residence due to: - Death or hospitalisation as a result of serious injury* or an acute serious illness* sustained by the following persons staying in the country of residence: - The Insured s spouse or cohabitee*. - The Insured s children, sons-in-law and daughters-in-law or grandchildren. - The Insured s parents, parents-in-law or grandparents. - The Insured s brothers and sisters, brothers-in-law or sisters-in-law. - An employee of the enterprise according to agreement with Tryg. - Fire*, explosion, flood or burglary affecting the Insured s private home where a police receipt has been made Where the Insured is owner of or director of the enterprise which has taken out the insurance, the insurance also covers emergency repatriation of the Insured due to: - Fire*, explosion, flood or burglary affecting the enterprise where a police receipt has been made. - Fraudulent acts in the enterprise committed by an employee where a police receipt has been made. - Wildcat strike The Insured and other parties covered* may interrupt the trip if they are travelling home together. 312 The insurance does not cover The insurance does not cover where the event causing the emergency repatriation has occurred prior to the period of insurance, cf. subs Indemnity The insurance covers necessary additional expenses for transportation* Where the trip is made in a motor vehicle, the insurance also covers the expenses for repatriation of the vehicle if agreed with Tryg Where the Insured and/or other parties covered* resume the trip, the insurance covers necessary additional expenses for transportation* for the return journey*, provided that the trip is resumed no later than 7 days prior to expiry of the period of insurance, cf. section 104. 11 Any situation which may result in indemnity becoming payable shall be notified to Tryg Alarm immediately. Subsequently, Tryg Alarm will decide whether or not repatriation can be arranged and by which means of transport. Where Tryg is not able to provide an itinerary for the repatriation within 2 hours after having received the notification of claim and after having assumed its liability to pay damages, the Insured may arrange the home journey. After return, the original bills in connection with additional transportation expenses, medical certificate, death certificate or police receipt shall be sent to Tryg. 320 Compassionate emergency visit 321 The insurance covers The insurance covers 2 people being summoned to the Insured if the Insured suffers an acute* and serious illness*, serious injury* or because the Insured has died. 322 The insurance does not cover The insurance does not cover emergency visit where other parties covered* over the age of 18 make use of the cover in section 330, Escort. 323 Indemnity The insurance covers: - Necessary expenses for transportation*. - Necessary expenses for hotel accommodation and meals* for a period of maximum 21 days and nights. - Travel insurance for the summoned persons Indemnity is conditional upon: - The trip being made according to agreement with Tryg and upon non-existence of prior decision for repatriating the Insured. - The summoned persons travelling from the country of residence. Any situation which may result in indemnity becoming payable shall be notified to Tryg Alarm immediately. Subsequently, Tryg Alarm will decide whether or not compassionate emergency visit will be covered. After return, the original bills for the expenses, medical certificate or death certificate shall be sent to Tryg. Page 11 of 38

12 330 Escort 331 The insurance covers The insurance covers when other parties covered* are escorting the Insured in case of acute illness* or injury where this results in interruption or delay of the planned itinerary. Furthermore, the insurance covers escort of other parties covered* in connection with repatriation if the Insured dies. 332 The insurance does not cover The insurance does not cover: - Escort after return to the country of residence, unless this is part of the continued escort. - Escort in case of use of the cover in section 320, Compassionate emergency visit. However, other parties covered* below the age of 18 can escort the Insured even if use is made of the cover of compassionate emergency visit. 333 Indemnity As regards other parties covered*, the insurance covers: - Necessary additional expenses for hotel accommodation and meals*. - Necessary additional expenses for transportation* in connection with the escort. - Necessary additional expenses for transportation* in order to catch up with the planned itinerary. - Necessary additional expenses for transportation* for the return journey*, provided that the trip is resumed no later than 7 days prior to expiry of the period of insurance, cf. section Prolongation of this insurance or the travel insurance of the person escorting the Insured if the escort goes beyond the period of insurance, cf. section Indemnity is conditional upon a medical certificate substantiating the Insured s illness/injury or death certificate issued by the locally authorised physician in charge of treatment. Any situation which may result in indemnity becoming payable shall be notified to Tryg Alarm immediately. Subsequently, Tryg Alarm will decide whether or not escort will be covered. After return, the original bills for the additional expenses, medical certificate or death certificate shall be sent to Tryg. Page 12 of 38

13 340 Replacement by a colleague 341 The insurance covers The insurance covers expenses in connection with sending out another employee to replace the Insured if the Insured becomes seriously ill*, sustains a serious injury* or dies. 342 The insurance does not cover See the general exclusions in section Indemnity The insurance covers: - Necessary expenses for transportation*. - Necessary expenses for hotel accommodation and meals* Indemnity is conditional upon: - The illness/injury* necessitating hospitalisation or absence from work for minimum 5 days, or - The Insured being repatriated. - A medical certificate substantiating the Insured s illness/injury* or a death certificate issued by the locally authorised physician in charge of treatment. Any situation which may result in sending out another employee shall be notified to Tryg Alarm immediately. Subsequently, Tryg Alarm will decide whether or not replacement will be covered. After return, the original bills for the expenses, medical certificate or death certificate shall be sent to Tryg. Page 13 of 38

14 400 Personal financial security 410 Delayed luggage 411 The insurance covers The insurance covers: - If registered luggage* is delayed for more than 3 hours relative to the Insured s arrival at a destination outside the country of residence. - If registered luggage* is delayed for more than 24 hours relative to the expected return to the destination in the country of residence where the Insured is to commence a new trip abroad within 24 hours after expected return to the country of residence. It is a condition that this trip abroad was booked before the delay occurred. 412 The insurance does not cover The insurance does not cover where the luggage* has been delivered to another means of transport than the means of transport by which the Insured travelled. 413 Indemnity The insurance covers expenses for necessary purchases* up to a maximum of DKK 6,324 per insured person each and every insurance event Indemnity is conditional upon the Insured having received a luggage certificate for the registered luggage*. When the Insured returns home, documentation for the delay received from the carrier (P.I.R. Property Irregularity Report), flight ticket and itinerary, luggage certificate and documentary proof of the time when the luggage* was received as well as the original bills for the purchases* shall be sent to Tryg. 15 420 Delayed and missed departure 421 The insurance covers The insurance covers if the Insured is not able to carry through the trip as planned, because, through no fault of his/her own and unforeseeably, the Insured misses a public means of transport or a means of transport arranged by a tour operator*. Where the Insured uses a private means of transport to a public means of transport or other means of transport arranged by a tour operator*, it is a condition that the delay is due to an accident which has resulted in assistance from a life-saving service. 422 The insurance does not cover The insurance does not cover if reasonable time has not been allotted for the change of means of transport. In connection with transportation by plane, the official minimum transfer time specified by the airline companies in their time tables is considered reasonable time. 423 Indemnity The insurance covers necessary additional expenses for transportation*, hotel accommodation and meals* in order to catch up with the planned itinerary. Any situation which may result in indemnity becoming payable shall be notified to Tryg Alarm immediately. Subsequently, Tryg Alarm will decide whether or not indemnity will be paid. Tryg can assist with the arrangement of transportation*, hotel accommodation* etc. When the Insured returns home, the original bills for the expenses and the original itinerary shall be sent to Tryg. 16 430 Assault 431 The insurance covers The insurance covers if a third party deliberately causes bodily injury to the Insured. 432 The insurance does not cover The insurance does not cover injury sustained by the Insured due to other parties covered*. 433 Indemnity The indemnity for assault corresponds to the amount which a responsible tortfeasor should have paid in connection with similar injury for up to a maximum of DKK 679,174 for each insured person pursuant to Danish case law and the Danish Act on Liability in Damages Indemnity is conditional upon the assault being reported to the nearest police authority. Documentation for reporting to the nearest police, medical certificate and names of witnesses, if any, shall be sent to Tryg. Page 16 of 38

17 440 Liability for damage to rented house, flat, hotel room or the like 441 The insurance covers The insurance covers if the Insured as private individual incurs liability to pay damages for damage to: - Furniture in rented house, flat, hotel room or the like* when the damaged items are in the Insured's custody. - Building parts in a rented hotel room, flat, second home or villa when the damaged items are in the Insured s custody. 442 The insurance does not cover The insurance does not cover liability for: - Damage occurring during paid or unpaid work. - Damage resulting from the Insured either by agreement or in any other way having assumed a larger liability than what is provided for in the Danish general law of damages in tort. - Damage caused by animals. 443 Indemnity The insurance covers up to a maximum of DKK 2m each and every insurance event. The sum insured constitutes Tryg's maximum liability after one individual insurance event, even if the liability can be assigned to several persons which are covered by one or more policies in Tryg In addition to the sum insured, interests and costs in connection with the decision on the liability issue are covered, provided that these have been approved by Tryg Tryg is not bound by the Insured s accepting the liability to pay damages or approving the claim without the approval of Tryg The claim is assessed pursuant to applicable law of the country in which the damage occurs. When the Insured returns home, a description of the course of events, name and address of the claimant and names of witnesses, if any, assessment of the documented claims and any police receipt shall be sent to Tryg. 18 450 Guarantee 451 The insurance covers In connection with private disputes*, the insurance provides guarantee* for the following: - Payment of the Insured s legal expenses. - Claims from local authorities in connection with claims made against the Insured. - Payment for release of the Insured or the Insured s possessions. 452 The insurance does not cover The insurance does not provide guarantee* for the following: - Disputes* related to the Insured s business or working conditions. - Disputes* related to contractual relations. - Criminal cases excluding road cases. 453 Indemnity The insurance provides guarantee* up to a maximum of DKK 100,000 for each and every dispute* The guarantee* is to be considered an interest-free loan which is to be repaid to Tryg when the guarantee* is released Where the guarantee* is sequestrated due to the Insured s non-payment of a fine, penalty or damages, the Insured s non-appearance to a court hearing, or if the Insured in any other way is responsible for the sequestration, the guarantee* is to be considered an interest-free loan which is to be repaid to Tryg immediately at the time of sequestration of the guarantee*. Any insurance event must be notified to Tryg Alarm immediately. Documentation shall be send to Tryg. Page 18 of 38

19 500 Personal accident 510 Permanent injury 511 The insurance covers The insurance covers consequences of accidents* and gives right to compensation in case of a degree of permanent injury of 5% or more The degree of permanent injury is fixed when the final consequences of the accident* can be determined The degree of permanent injury cannot exceed 100% per accident* per person. The degree of permanent injury is fixed pursuant to the permanent injury rating list prepared by the Danish National Board of Industrial Injuries. The permanent injury rating list in force at the time of the decision always applies in connection with fixing the compensation. The degree of permanent injury is fixed without regard for the Insured s occupation and social situation. Where the injury is not stated in the permanent injury rating list prepared by the Danish National Board of Industrial Injuries, the degree of permanent injury is fixed on the basis of the medical nature and extent of the injury and without regard for the Insured s occupation and social situation. 512 The insurance does not cover The insurance does not cover: - Lacking causal relation. Cover is conditional upon existence of a causal relation between the accident* and the injury. When the aforesaid is assessed, emphasis will among other things be on determining whether the event can cause bodily injury or not. This means whether the event in itself actually can cause/explain the injury. - Discomforts corresponding to pre-existing permanent injury or suffering, including degenerative change irrespective of whether it has not previously showed symptoms. Furthermore, this circumstance cannot result in the degree of permanent injury being fixed higher than it would have had if such permanent injury or suffering not existed. - Consequences of accidents* where the main cause is pre-existing diseases or predisposition to a disease (apart from indisposition or faint). - Worsening of consequences of an accident* which is due to a pre-existing or unforeseen disease. - Bodily injuries resulting from attrition. - Bodily injuries resulting from overtaxing which is not sudden. - Permanent injuries resulting from overtaxing of other parts of the body than those injured in connection with the accident*. - Injuries resulting from infection with diseases, virus, bacteria, other micro-organisms or the like. - Poisoning from food, drinks, stimulants and medicine. 20 - Permanent injuries in the form of mental consequences resulting from incidents where the Insured himself/herself has not been exposed to the hazard of bodily injury. - Consequences resulting from dental, medical or other treatments which are not necessary in connection with an accident* covered by the insurance. - Injuries in connection with childbirth. - Accidents* affecting the Insured during transportation in an aircraft not marked with nationality. - Expenses for examination, visits, medical treatment and hospitalisation. - Expenses for medicine, bandage, mouthguard, auxiliary equipment and the like. 513 Compensation The chosen sum insured in connection with permanent injury per insured person has been specified in the policy The size of the compensation depends on the extent of the permanent injury. The compensation will be a percentage of the sum insured corresponding to the fixed degree of permanent injury. The compensation is paid as a lump sum payment The compensation is based on the size of the sum insured at the time of the accident The compensation is paid to the Insured, unless otherwise agreed, see however subs As regards children below the age of 18, compensation will be paid to the parents*, unless otherwise agreed with Tryg. If the aforesaid persons are dead, compensation will be paid to the insured child and placed in accordance with the rules for placement of minor s funds. Where the Insured has reached the age of 18 at the time of payment, the compensation will be paid to the Insured For the use of assessment of whether a claim is covered by the insurance and assessment of the size of the compensation, Tryg can request a medical examination in the country of residence. Tryg covers the expenses for medical examination but not the transportation or expenses for accommodation etc. in connection with the medical examination. 514 Arbitration In case of disagreement in connection with the degree of permanent injury fixed by Tryg, the Insured as well as Tryg can request that the question concerning the degree of permanent injury be submitted to the National Board of Industrial Injuries. The decision of the National Board of Industrial Injuries is binding on both parties. Page 20 of 38

21 The party who requests that the question about the degree of permanent injury be submitted to the National Board of Industrial Injuries defrays the expenses in connection with such submission, including expenses for additional medical certificates Where the National Board of Industrial Injuries changes the degree of permanent injury fixed by Tryg in favour of the Insured, the expenses shall be payable by Tryg. 515 Reopening When the handling of a claim has been terminated, such claim can be reopened at a later point in time on the Insured s request Reopening is conditional upon medical documentation of worsening of the consequences after the accident*. Expenses for this medical documentation shall be payable by the Insured Where Tryg decides to reopen the claim, the expenses for medical documentation shall be payable by Tryg. When the Insured returns home, the medical certificate shall be sent to Tryg. 520 Death 521 The insurance covers The insurance gives right to compensation in case of death which is a direct consequence of an accident* when the death happens no later than one year after the accident*. 522 The insurance does not cover The insurance does not cover death due to: - Natural causes or where the cause of death is unknown. - Consequences of accidents* where the main cause is pre-existing diseases or predisposition to a disease (apart from indisposition or faint). - Worsening of consequences of an accident* which is due to a pre-existing or unforeseen disease. - Infection with diseases, virus, bacteria, other micro-organisms or the like. - Poisoning from food, drinks, stimulants and medicine. - Consequences resulting from dental, medical and other treatments which are not necessary in connection with an accident* covered by the insurance. - Childbirth. - Overtaxing of the body. - Accidents* affecting the Insured during transportation in an aircraft not marked with nationality. 22 523 Compensation The chosen sum insured in connection with death resulting from an accident* is specified in the policy Where the Insured is below the age of 18, the amount payable is DKK 20,000 for funeral benefit Compensation will be paid to the Insured s nearest relatives in compliance with the rules and regulations of the Danish Insurance Contracts Act, unless otherwise agreed with Tryg in writing, or unless otherwise specified in an endorsement to the policy. Nearest relatives mean spouse, or if such is not left, children, or if such are not left, then heirs Where compensation for permanent injury has been paid in connection with the same accident* this amount will be deducted from the sum insured in case of death. Tryg Alarm must immediately be notified of the death. Death certificate shall be sent to Tryg. Tryg is entitled to require an autopsy of the Insured. 530 Dental injury 531 The insurance covers The insurance covers dental injury resulting from an accident*. Furthermore, the insurance covers damage to dentures when these have been damaged while placed in the mouth. 532 The insurance does not cover The insurance does not cover: - Expenses which can be paid by other means, e.g. by the Danish National Health Service or a Workmen s Compensation Insurance. - Dental injury resulting from mastication. This applies irrespective of the cause of the dental injury. - Expenses for repair or ordinary care of teeth which have already been repaired under the insurance. - Expenses resulting from an accident* for medicine, bandage, mouthguard, braces, auxiliary equipment and the like. - Consequences resulting from dental, medical and other treatments which have not been necessitated by an accident* covered by the insurance. - Expenses for dental treatment commenced more than five years after the accident*. 23 533 Compensation Reasonable and necessary expenses for the Insured s dental treatment after an accident* Where the accident* occurs before the Insured has reached the age of 18, the insurance covers expenses for treatment before the Insured has reached the age of Compensation is conditional upon the final treatment being approved by Tryg prior to its commencement. However, the insurance covers acute emergency treatments without prior approval. 534 Reduction of the compensation The compensation may be reduced or cancelled if the condition of the tooth/teeth and all types of dentures had been repaired before the accident*, e.g. as a result of disease, reconstruction, root treatment, wear, break down of ligaments, periodontitis or other disease of the teeth or surrounding bones Where teeth next to the damaged tooth are missing or weakened as mentioned in subs , compensation cannot exceed the expenses of necessary treatment of a healthy tooth. When the Insured returns home, the certificate from the dentist shall be sent to Tryg. Page 23 of 38

24 600 Rescue 610 Search and rescue 611 The insurance covers The insurance covers: - Search of the Insured within a radius of 50 kilometre from the place where the Insured last was seen. - Rescue of the Insured when the whereabouts of the Insured have been established. 612 The insurance does not cover The insurance does not cover: - Payment for search and rescue to authorities and organisations which normally work voluntarily and/or unpaid in connection with these tasks. - Search in connection with kidnapping or hijacking, however see Criminal confinement, section Search and rescue north of the polar circle or on the South Pole. - Search initiated by relatives because the Insured has not told the relatives where he/she is staying, or because the family or others want to get in contact with the Insured. 613 Indemnity The insurance covers search and rescue for maximum 14 days up to a maximum of DKK 135,834 per insured person, in total maximum DKK 407,505 each and every event for the insured persons in total The expenses covered by the insurance are subject to a deductible of 10%, however minimum DKK 2, Indemnity is conditional upon: - The Insured having been missing for more than 24 hours. - The event being reported to the local police, and upon the search and rescue being commenced on the demand of a local authority or the Royal Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. - Tryg Alarm in advance sanctioning the persons who will be responsible for the search and rescue as well as the extent thereof. Tryg Alarm shall be notified of the event immediately. Documentation for notification to local authority shall be sent to Tryg. Page 24 of 38

25 620 Evacuation and involuntary stay 621 The insurance covers The insurance covers expenses for evacuation or for the Insured s involuntary stay: - In case of imminent risk of war, war-like situations, natural disasters or epidemics. - In case situations occur which must be considered terrorism* or in case there is an imminent risk of terrorism*. 622 The insurance does not cover The insurance does not cover: - Entry into a country/area from which the Royal Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has already recommended evacuation or has initiated evacuation procedures. - Expenses covered by the tour operator, public authorities, funds or the like. 623 Indemnity Evacuation The insurance covers the necessary additional expenses for transportation* to the Insured s home in the country of residence where the Royal Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Danish embassy or similar institution has ascertained and documented the occurrence in accordance with the following provisions: - When the Royal Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends evacuation, the Insured shall follow the instructions given by it so the Insured can be evacuated at the first opportunity. - When the Royal Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs does not initiate evacuation, evacuation can take place in accordance with agreement with Tryg. Agreement on home journey can be made when the situation has occurred in the area where the Insured is staying and travelling and where it is assessed that staying or travelling in the area involves a significantly increased risk or insecurity. Payment of compensation is conditional upon the Insured not earlier having neglected to comply with the recommendation of the Royal Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs to be evacuated. Involuntary stay If, immediately after it has been agreed that evacuation from the area must take place, it appears that evacuation from the country is not possible because the public authorities at the place have sealed the borders so that leaving and entering the country are made impossible, the insurance covers transportation* to the nearest destination considered a safe place of residence by the public authorities at the place and the Royal Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Transportation* to the country of residence will then take place as soon as possible after it has become possible to leave the country again. Page 25 of 38

26 Insureds who are staying in a country which has become the subject of a situation as stated in subs. 621, but who are not directly affected by the situation, will be covered by the insurance if it is not possible for them to leave the country as planned in accordance with the itinerary because the local authorities have sealed the borders and rendered it impossible to leave and/or enter the country. The insurance covers additional expenses as stated subs from the time when the Insured originally was supposed to have travelled to his/her home in accordance with the original itinerary. Transportation* to the country of residence will then take place as soon as possible after it has become possible to leave the country again During the involuntary stay, the insurance covers documented and charged additional expenses for up to 3 months for: - Meals* for up to a maximum of DKK 1,087 per insured person per day or fraction of a day. - Accommodation* and transportation* for up to DKK 108,667 per insured person. Evacuation at one s own account Where the insurance does not cover expenses for evacuation or involuntary stay because it is assessed that staying at the place does not involve any increased risk for the Insured, Tryg can offer the Insured assistance at the Insured s own account to help the Insured leave the area because the Insured feels unsafe staying there. The assistance offered to the Insured involves alteration or purchase of flight tickets to an earlier flight than originally planned or help to find a residence away from the area from where the holiday can continue. Tryg only offers administrative assistance for finding a residence away from the area from where the holiday can continue. Tryg only offers administrative assistance for altering or booking flight tickets or hotel rooms. The expenses connected with this shall be paid by the Insured. Any situation which may result in indemnity becoming payable shall be notified to Tryg Alarm immediately. Subsequently, Tryg Alarm will decide whether or not indemnity will be paid. Tryg can assist with the arrangement of transportation*, accommodation* etc. The possibility of transportation may be limited in countries at war or in war-like situations. Tryg is not responsible for the extent to which transportation can be carried out, but in cases where assistance is necessary, Tryg will cooperate with the Royal Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, tour operator or the like. Where Tryg cannot provide an itinerary for the repatriation in connection with evacuation within 12 hours after it has been decided that evacuation must take place, the Insured is free to make arrangements for the repatriation him/herself. When the Insured returns home, the original bills for the expenses shall be sent to Tryg. Page 26 of 38

27 Crisis assistance 631 The insurance covers The insurance covers crisis assistance when an event covered by the insurance results in an emotional crisis as a consequence of: - Robbery*, assault, accident, fire*, explosion or burglary. - Search and rescue operations Furthermore, the insurance covers crisis assistance in case of war, war-like situations, acts of terrorism, natural disasters or epidemics. 632 The insurance does not cover The insurance does not cover crisis assistance if: - Entry into a country/area from which the Royal Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has already recommended evacuation or has initiated evacuation procedures. 633 Indemnity The insurance covers the expenses necessary for: - Psychological crisis assistance for the Insured and other parties covered* on the spot. - The Insured s own share of treatment by a psychologist prescribed by a physician after the return to Denmark for up to a maximum of DKK 13, Crisis assistance by telephone to the Insured s spouse/cohabitee*, children, parents or brothers and sisters, whether they are in the country of residence or travelling with the Insured. - Transportation* and necessary expenses for accommodation and meals* for up to five days for two persons travelling to see the Insured if Tryg s medical consultant estimates that the Insured needs to see the spouse/cohabitee*, children, parents or brothers and sisters Indemnity is conditional upon: - Treatment by a psychologist in Denmark being commenced no later than four weeks after return, and upon the treatment being carried out according to agreement with Tryg s medical consultant, and upon aid being granted by the National Health Service in Denmark. - As regards necessary expenses for transportation*, accommodation and meals*, cover not also being claimed under Compassionate emergency visit, section 320. 28 Any situation which may result in indemnity becoming payable shall be notified to Tryg Alarm immediately. Subsequently, Tryg Alarm will decide whether or not indemnity will be paid. Tryg can assist with the arrangement of transportation*, accommodation* etc. When the Insured returns home, the original bills for the expenses shall be sent to Tryg. 700 Luggage, personal liability and legal expenses 710 Luggage 711 The insurance covers The insurance covers in connection with: - Fire*, lightning, explosion, water damage*, burglary*, simple larceny*, ran 1 * or robbery* of the luggage*. - In case registered luggage* is lost or damaged. - Loss of or damage to luggage* which follows from an occurrence comprised by the cover Evacuation and involuntary stay, section The insurance does not cover The insurance does not cover: - Motor vehicles, caravans, boats (including surf boards), bicycles and other means of transport as well as accessories hereto. - Simple larceny* from unlocked motor vehicles, caravans, pleasure crafts or tents. - Forgotten, lost, mislaid or left items. - Damage due to insufficient packaging as well as general damage to suitcases and other pieces of luggage*. - Damage due to poor packaging or outflow of liquids which the Insured has brought with him/her. - Damage which results from slow leakage of liquid from water, heating or drain pipes of the building. - Damage to luggage* delivered to another means of transport than the means of transport by which the Insured travelled. 713 Indemnity The insurance covers up to a maximum of DKK 75,873 per insured person Cash, traveller s cheques, tickets and securities are only covered in connection with fire*, lightning, explosion, burglary*, ran* or robbery* and only up to a maximum of DKK 18,970 per insured person. 1 "Ran" is defined as theft which takes place openly without the use of violence, and which at the time the crime is committed is noticed by the victim or other persons present. 29 Gold, silver, jewels, precious metal and the like are only covered in connection with fire*, lightning, explosion, burglary*, ran* or robbery* Theft from locked motor vehicle, caravan, pleasure craft or tent is indemnified with up to 50% of the sum insured One single item with equipment (e.g. a portable computer and mobile phone) is indemnified with up to 50% of the sum insured Film, tape recordings, manuscripts, drawings, IT programs and the like are only indemnified with the price of the raw material, the cassette, floppy disk, CD or similar electronic storage media Tryg may chose to have the damaged items repaired or to pay an amount corresponding to the price of repair of the items As regards stolen or lost items which have been bought as new within the past 2 years, indemnity will be paid corresponding to the costs of replacing them with new similar items (replacement value indemnity) As regards stolen or lost items which are more than 2 years old, indemnity will be paid corresponding to the costs of replacing them with deduction of the decrease in value (current value indemnity) Indemnity is conditional upon: - In connection with fire*, lightning, explosion and water damage, the Insured providing documentation for reporting to police or life-saving service. - In connection with burglary*, simple larceny*, ran* or robbery*, the Insured having reported the incident to the local police authority. - In connection with simple larceny* from locked motor vehicle, caravan, pleasure craft or tent, the existence of visible signs of forced entry. - The damage/loss being reported to the carrier immediately if the damage/loss has occurred while the luggage* has been in the carrier's custody. - The Insured documenting and rendering probable that he/she has had the stolen or damaged items in his/her possession. Furthermore, the Insured shall document or render probable the age and replacement cost of the items. Where the Insured is unable to document his/her claim or to render his/her claim probable, Tryg reserves the right to reject the claim for damages or to fix the indemnity on the basis of an estimate. Documentation in the form of reporting to the police or carrier or documentation of age and value of the stolen/damaged items shall be sent to Tryg. Page 29 of 38

30 720 Personal liability 721 The insurance covers The insurance covers if the Insured as private individual causes bodily injury or property damage and thereby incurs liability to pay damages. 722 The insurance does not cover The insurance does not cover liability for: - Damage/injury occurring during paid or unpaid work. - Damage/injury resulting from the Insured either by agreement or in any other way having assumed a larger liability than what is provided for in the Danish general law of damages in tort. - Injury sustained by or loss of animals or damage to or loss of property which the Insured has borrowed, rented, is storing, using, transporting, processing, treating, has in his/her possession or for any other reason has in his/her custody. - Damage to or loss of property belonging to the Insured. - Damage/injury caused when using af motor vehicle, caravan, air craft or vessel measuring more than 5.5 metre long and with an engine power exceeding 5 HP. - Damage/injury caused by animals. - Damage/injury due to the Insured infecting other people or in any other way passing on a disease to others. 723 Indemnity The insurance covers up to a maximum of DKK 10m in connection with bodily injury and DKK 5m in connection with property damage. These sums constitute Tryg s maximum liability after one individual insurance event, even if the liability can be assigned to several persons which are covered by one or more policies in Tryg In addition to the sum insured, interests and costs in connection with the decision on the liability issue are covered, provided that these have been approved by Tryg The claim will be assessed pursuant to applicable law of the country in which the damage occurs Indemnity is conditional upon the Insured not accepting the liability to pay damages or approving the claim without the approval of Tryg. Furthermore, Tryg shall decide on the processing of the claim. Page 30 of 38

31 Any insurance event must be notified to Tryg Alarm immediately. When the Insured returns home, a description of the course of events, name and address of the claimant and names of witnesses, if any, assessment of the documented claims made by the claimant and any police receipt shall be sent to Tryg. 730 Legal expenses 731 The insurance covers The insurance covers legal expenses if the Insured has turned to a lawyer for legal assistance and where such lawyer has undertaken the case. The insurance covers pursuant to The general terms and conditions for legal expenses in relation to the household contents insurance prepared by the Danish Insurance Association (Forsikring og Pension), however subject to the following deviations: - The insurance solely covers in connection with legal actions or arbitration cases stemming from private disputes* which arise during the trip and which directly relate to the Insured. - Where the Insured is to be part of a legal action abroad and where the examination cannot be carried out in the country of residence, the insurance covers necessary expenses for transportation*, hotel accommodation and meals*. Cover is conditional upon the Insured being summoned for examination as party or witness, upon the Insured having an interest in appearing according to Tryg s judgment, and upon the expenses not being paid from other sources. - A complete set of the insurance terms and conditions can be ordered from Tryg or the Danish Insurance Information Service (Forsikringsoplysningen). 732 The insurance does not cover The exclusions stated in The general terms and conditions for legal expenses in relation to the household contents insurance prepared by the Danish Insurance Association (Forsikring og Pension) also apply to this cover. However, the exclusion as regards travelling expenses mentioned in the aforesaid terms and conditions does not apply. 733 Indemnity The insurance covers up to a maximum of DKK 125, The expenses covered by the insurance are subject to a deductible of 10%, however minimum DKK 2,500. The claim in relation to cover of legal expenses will be made by the lawyer who has undertaken the case. Subsequently, the lawyer notifies Tryg of the insurance event. Page 31 of 38

32 800 Criminal confinement 810 The insurance covers The insurance covers if the Insured is kidnapped or captured Tryg Alarm will keep the Insured s relatives and employer informed on a current basis. 811 The insurance does not cover The insurance does not cover payment of ransom. 812 Indemnity The insurance covers the expenses for: - Daily compensation to the Insured during the criminal confinement amounting to DKK 3,160 per day and up to a maximum of DKK 316, Counselling of the enterprise and negotiation on behalf of the enterprise up to a maximum amount of DKK 63, Transportation*, hotel accommodation and meals* in connection with sending out another employee until the planned work during the business trip has been performed or so long as the Insured is confined. - Compensation to the enterprise for payment of salary to the Insured during the confinement with the addition of one month, up to a total amount of DKK 316, Psychological crisis assistance during the Insured s confinement to the Insured s spouse/cohabitee*, children, parents and brothers and sisters. - Psychological crisis assistance to the Insured after release up to a maximum of DKK 63, Transportation*, hotel accommodation and meals* for two persons travelling to the country/region where the Insured is staying when the Insured has been detained for at least 48 hours. - Loss of earnings up to a maximum of DKK 63,227 in total for the two persons travelling to the Insured. - Travel insurance for the two persons travelling to the Insured. Tryg Alarm shall be notified immediately after the kidnapping or the capture. Documentation in relation to payment of compensation of wages/salary and documentary proof of expenses paid shall be sent to Tryg. Page 32 of 38

33 900 Cancellation 910 The insurance covers The insurance covers where the Insured is unable to travel because: - The Insured becomes acutely ill*/ injured and is hospitalised. - Tryg s medical consultant assesses that it is unsafe to travel because it may worsen the Insured s acute illness* or injury considerably or otherwise harm the Insured s health seriously. - Tryg s medical consultant assesses that the Insured s general condition has been acutely worsened so that it is unreasonable to travel. - The Insured dies. - The Insured s spouse/cohabitee*, children, sons-in-law and daughters-in-law, grandchildren, parents, parents-in-law, grandparents, sisters and brothers, brothers-inlaw or sisters-in-law die or become acutely seriously ill*/are injured seriously* and are hospitalised in the country of residence. - The Insured, for medical reasons, is unable to have a vaccination which is introduced suddenly and unforeseeably as a requirement for entry into the country the Insured is travelling to. - The Insured does not pass his/her examination at a higher education institution, and therefore has to resit the examination. It is a condition that the Insured is a student, that the enterprise has planned and bought the trip prior to the date of the examination not passed, and that the Insured is to resit during the period of the trip or within two weeks after the planned date of return. - Fire*, explosion, flood or burglary affects the Insured s private home or the enterprise which has taken out the insurance and which the Insured owns or manages, immediately before departure where a police receipt has been made. - Fraudulent acts have been committed by an employee immediately before departure where a police receipt has been made. Indemnity is conditional upon the fraudulent acts being committed in the enterprise which has taken out the insurance and which the Insured owns or manages. - Wildcat strike immediately before departure affects the enterprise which has taken out the insurance and which the Insured owns or manages. Moreover, the insurance covers where the Insured is unable to travel because: - One of the following occurrences arise or there is imminent risk that they will arise in the country/area outside the country of residence to which the trip has been ordered and paid: - War or war-like circumstances* - Terrorism* - Natural catastrophes. - Epidemics. The insurance covers if the Royal Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a Danish embassy or similar institution has ascertained and documented the occurrence in accordance with the following provisions: - When the Royal Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises people not to enter the country/area or already has recommended evacuation thereof. 34 - When the Royal Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs does not directly advise against entry or has not made any initiatives for evacuation, the trip can be cancelled subject to agreement thereof with Tryg. Agreement on cancellation of the trip can be made when the situation has occurred in the area where the Insured is to stay and travel and where it is assessed that staying or travelling in the area involves a significantly increased risk or insecurity. Payment of compensation is conditional upon the decision to cancel the trip being made immediately prior to departure. 911 The insurance does not cover The insurance does not cover: - Where the insurance event has been discovered before the insurance takes effect. - Where the Insured s illness/injury has not been in a stable, good phase* for the past 2 months before the insurance takes effect, cf. subs Where the Insured has refused medical treatment of the illness/injury, or where medical treatment has been given up. - Child delivery or complication of pregnancy occurring after the 35 th week of pregnancy. - Expenses covered by the tour operator, public authorities or the like. 912 Indemnity In connection with damage/injury covered by the insurance, the other parties covered* can also cancel the trip The insurance covers the amount which a tour operator* can request to be paid, or the amount which have been paid to a tour operator* and which cannot be refunded The insurance covers up to a maximum aggregate of DKK 63,227 per trip for the persons who cancel the trip. Any claim for damages shall be notified to Tryg Alarm immediately after the Insured becomes aware that the trip cannot be carried through. Documentation in the form of original receipts from the tour operator* and medical certificate or death certificate, police receipt etc. shall be sent to Tryg. Page 34 of 38

35 9999 Definitions The definitions are part of the terms and conditions and apply regardless of the linguistic form of the word/term used. Accident Accident means a sudden event which results in bodily injury. Acutely ill/acute illness Acutely ill/acute illness means illness which suddenly arises during the period of insurance. It is a condition that there has not been any symptoms of illness before the insurance took effect, cf. section 104. Ambulance transportation Expenses for ambulance transportation mean expenses for ambulance, air ambulance or helicopter. The method of transport is to be determined by Tryg. Burglary Burglary means theft from securely locked building or room. Tryg s liability to pay damages is conditional upon the existence of evidence of the burglary. Theft from car, train, aircraft, bus, boat, caravan or tent is not considered burglary. Cohabitee Cohabitee means a person who is registered under the same address as the Insured at the municipal registration office, and who lives together with the Insured as husband or wife. Dangerous sport Dangerous sport means training or participation in any kind of motor, moped, cycle race or racing boat race, boxing and other types of self-defence or martial arts, bungee jumping, parachute jump, hang gliding, stunt flying, paragliding, ultralight flying, rafting, diving with diving or frogman equipment or other types of sport which are comparable with the aforesaid. Disputes Disputes mean a legal disagreement. Emergency dental treatment Emergency dental treatment means treatment which has to be carried out immediately. Special treatment, cap or the like can only be carried out after prior special agreement with Tryg. Europe Europe means the geographical area Europe, the Middle Eastern and African countries with coasts to the Mediterranean, Jordan, the Canary Islands, Madeira and the Azores. Greenland and the Faroe islands are also covered. Fire Fire means an unrestrained, flame-developing fire which is capable of spreading at its own force. Page 35 of 38

36 Guarantee Guarantee means payment which permanently or temporarily can release the Insured or his/her possessions from retention by the local authorities. Hotel accommodation and meals Expenses for hotel accommodation and meals mean documented necessary expenses for a middle class hotel and ordinary meals including beverages. Luggage Luggage means property which the Insured brings along on the trip as hand luggage or registered luggage. Both the Insured s personal possessions and the enterprise s property which the Insured has brought along from home, has bought or has been given, are covered. Other parties covered Other parties covered mean: Persons who are covered under the insurance and who travel together with the Insured during part of the trip or during the entire trip. Persons who have taken out individual travel insurance with Tryg with the purpose of travelling together with the Insured during part of the trip or during the entire trip. Furthermore, in connection with escort, cf. section 330, other parties covered mean persons who are covered under the same as the Insured and who according to Tryg are staying within a reasonable geographic distance from the Insured. Paid work Paid work means work performed for the enterprise which has taken out the Business Travel Insurance. The following types of paid work are and cannot be covered by the insurance: Artists and acrobats, work for the national defence, including commandos and frogmen, sappers and explosives specialists, chemical workers using explosives, aerial photographers, motor cross and motor sport instructors, stuntmen or people performing professional sport*. Parents Parents mean birth parents or adoptive parents. The child must be registered at the municipal registration office at the year-round address of the parents. Professional sport Professional sport means sport practised for payment. Purchases Purchases means necessary purchases of clothing and toiletries. Ran Ran means theft which takes place openly without the use of violence, and which at the time the crime is committed is noticed by a victim or other persons present. Tryg s liability is conditional upon an outcry immediately subsequent to the ran. Page 36 of 38

37 Rented house, flat, hotel room or the like Rented house, flat, hotel room or the like also include second home, villa, tent, pleasure craft, motor caravan and caravan. Residence Residence means a place outside the Insured s home where the Insured spends his/her last night in the country of residence before travelling abroad. Return journey Return journey means the journey back to the place where the Insured should have been according to the original itinerary. Robbery Robbery means theft which takes place by the use of violence or threat of immediate use of violence. Serious illness/injury Serious illness/injury means that the illness or the injury can result in considerable permanent injury, or in the patient s condition becoming unstable or life-threatening. Simple larceny Simple larceny means theft of items held in the open, in unlocked building or room as well as theft from car, train, aircraft, bus, boat, caravan or tent. Stable, good phase Stable, good phase means that the condition has been stationary without any kind of change, development or periodical worsening which: has required contact to a physician. has resulted in changes in or plans of changes in treatment/medication. has resulted in plans of further examinations, treatment, hospitalisation or the like. Stay Expenses for stay mean expenses for rent of hotel room, flat, second home, villa, tent, caravan, motor caravan, pleasure craft and the like. Where a meal is an integral part of the expense, this is also covered. Terrroism An act of terrorism means an act, including but not limited to the use of force or violence and/or the threat thereof, of any person or group(s) of persons, whether acting alone or on behalf or in connection with any organisation(s) and/or government(s), committed for political, religious, ideological, or ethnic purposes or reasons including the intention to influence any government and/or to put the public, or any section of the public, in fear. In order for an act to be considered an act of terrorism it must be intended for influencing any government and/or for putting the public, or any section of the public, in fear. Page 37 of 38

38 Tour operator Tour operator means travel agency, carrier or landlord of hotel room, flat, second home, villa, tent, caravan, motor caravan, pleasure craft and the like. Transportation Expenses for transportation mean documented necessary expenses, however, maximum expenses for scheduled flight, economy class. Water damage Water damage is understood to mean damage resulting from flood, cloudburst and the like as well as sudden leakage of water, oil, refrigerant or the like from installations, aquaria or other containers of 20 litres or more. Where the damage occurs in a rented house, flat, hotel room or the like, water damage is also understood to mean bursting due to frost in insufficiently heated room, fill-up and draining of oil tank or other containers, ascension of groundwater or sewage water, liquid from downpipes or roof gutters, construction and maintenance work.
