Menu for Desktop Menu Address Bar Minimize Current Option Maximize/Restore Close Back & Forward Buttons Search Box Categories Click on links to make change computer settings. In this course, we have not addressed the security section of the Control Panel. Because it is a popular subject, we have an in depth course titled Keeping Your Computer Safe which is included in our Computer Maintenance Projects group. Also, we chose the Category View for this lesson. It is suggested that you also try the options available in the Small Icon or Large Icon list view. All categories are list individually in alphabetical order. We suggest that you try the Control Panel options one or two at a time. When you are comfortable, go to other options. Often you will not need to do much of anything with Control Panel options, but it will give you an opportunity to see how and why your computer functions the way it does. Also, it will help you with practice to find these options to be able to know where to find them when needed. When trying options, click on them and view. If you make changes and want to keep them, you will need to click on Apply. (Write the default settings down in case you want to return to the default settings) If you do not want try changes, click on the Cancel button.
