2 1.0 RULES 1.1 The regatta shall be governed by the rules as defined in ISAF s The Racing Rules of Sailing. (RRS). 1.2 No National Prescriptions shall apply. 1.3 Subject to the approval of the Race Committee, a boat chartered or loaned for the event may declare at the time of entry or registration a sail number which may be different from the registered number of the hull provided that the number declared shall not be the sail number of any other boat competing in the regatta. 1.4 If there is a conflict between languages, the English text will take precedence. 1.5 RRS 61.1 (2) is deleted. 2.0 ADVERTISING & IDENTIFICATION Boats and competitors shall comply with ISAF Regulation 20, Advertising Code. Competing boats may be required to display advertising of the Event Sponsor as provided by the Organising Authority. 2.1 Boats may be required to display identification numbers. 3.0 ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY 3.1 The event is open to all boats with a valid Class measurement certificate of the GP14 International Class Association. 3.2 Eligible boats shall enter by completing the registration form. 3.3 All helmsmen shall be members of the GP14 International Class Association. 3.4 All competitors shall complete and sign a declaration form before competing. Competitors who are under 18 before April 5th 2016 shall have a declaration form completed by their parent or guardian before they will be allowed to compete. This applies to helms and crews. The parental declaration form is part of the entry form. 3.5 Entries will be accepted up to 14 th March 2016 in accordance with the published fees. Final Page 2 of 8 Jan-2015

3 4.0 FEES 4.1 The required fees NET in United States Dollars ($US) are as follows: Event Fee before 30-Nov-15 Fee after 1-Dec-15 Championships (per boat) $US 450 net $US 600 net Social Adult $US 150 net $US 150 net Social Junior (under 18) $US 75 net $US 75 net Children (under 12) Free Free 4.2 The Entry Fee includes admission to all social events. Including:- (1) Welcome Night (2) Mid-Regatta Social Event (3) Prize Giving Gala 4.3 All fees shall be paid by either Paypal or electronic bank transfer. 4.4 The boat number and helm's surname shall be clearly included in the reference for the payment. 4 5.0 5Cancellation Penalties 5.1 Competitors cancelling their entry to the event up to and including 30th November 2015 will be entitled to a full refund of all amounts paid, less an administration fee of $US 50. Competitors cancelling after 30th November 2015 and before the closing date of midnight on 14th March 2016 will be entitled to a refund of all amounts paid less $US 100 to cover committed costs payable to the host club and an administration fee. No refunds will be made after the closing date. 5.2 All notifications of cancellation must be made to robin.clayton@virgin.net before the date specified 6.0 Transfer of Entry to another Competitor 6.1 It is allowed to transfer an entry from one helm to another up until 14th March 2016, provided this notification is received by robin.clayton@virgin.net After this date transfers are not permitted, and the Cancellation of Entry conditions above apply. 5 Saturday 02 April Lay day (no racing) Sunday 03 April 12:30 Races Monday 04-April 11:00 Races 19:30 PRIZE GIVING CEREMONY 7.4 Number of Races: 11 (2 per day) One extra race per day may be sailed if races are not completed as scheduled. 7.5 On the last day of the World Championship no warning signal will be made after MEASUREMENT 8.1 Equipment inspection will take place at the boat shed. 8.2 Each boat shall present a valid measurement certificate at registration. 8.3 Each boat shall present the following additional safety equipment during the inspection: A tow-line of minimum length of 10 metres and minimum 6 mm diameter. 8.4 Boats may be subject to further inspections at any time during the regattas. 9.0 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS The sailing instructions will be available at registration VENUE 10.1 The regatta will be held at Barbados Yacht Club, Bridgetown, Barbados The racing area will be offshore from Barbados Yacht Club THE COURSE The courses will be detailed in the Sailing Instructions. Gate starts will be used for all races unless otherwise determined by the Race Officer. Final Page 5 of 8 Jan-2015

6 12.0 INTERNATIONAL JURY An International Jury will be constituted for the Championships and decisions of the International Jury will be final as provided in RRS SCORING 13.1 The Low Point System of Appendix A will apply Two (2) races shall be completed to constitute a series When fewer than four (4) races have been completed, a boat s series score will be the total of her race scores When four (4) to seven (7) races have been completed, a boat s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score When eight (8) or more races have been completed, a boat s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her two worst scores SUPPORT BOATS 14.1 All support boats shall register with the Organising Authority before the first race of the regatta Team leaders, coaches and other support personnel shall stay at least 50 metres outside areas where boats are racing from the time of the preparatory signal for the start until all boats have finished or until the race committee signals a postponement, general recall or abandonment Support boats shall be marked by displaying Flag O conspicuously at all times. Flag O shall be of a minimum size of 400mm by 500mm The crews of all support and Jury boats shall attend all Championship Safety Briefings Support and Jury boats are required to monitor the safety radio frequency at all times and shall be required to undertake safety duties at the direction of the Race Officer All registered support boats shall comply with support boat regulations posted on the notice board BERTHING Boats shall be kept in the assigned area in the dinghy park and shall maintain the same location in the dinghy park for the duration of the event. 7 16.0 RIGHT TO USE NAME AND LIKENESS By participating in these Championships a competitor automatically grants to the organizing authority and its sponsors the right in perpetuity to make, use and show, from time to time at their discretion, any motion pictures and live, taped or filmed television and other reproductions of him or her during the period of the competition, without compensation RADIO COMMUNICATION Except in an emergency a boat shall neither make radio transmissions while racing nor receive radio communications not available to all boats. This restriction also applies to mobile telephones PRIZES 18.1 Trophies will be awarded to the Helm and Crew who are the overall winners and runners-up in the Championship and also to the winners of the Silver and Bronze fleets Competitors shall indicate their chosen Fleet grading (Gold/Silver/Bronze) on the Entry Form. Guidelines for criteria of fleet allocation are detailed on the entry form The Race Committee reserves the right to re-allocate boats into different Fleets at their absolute discretion. Appeals to the Race Committee by a competitor against their grading may be made by the end of the first day of the regatta. The grading of other competitors will not be a basis for a claim for redress under RRS 62.1(a) The World Championship has a number of special trophies. A list of the trophies and eligibility will be published. Entrants are requested to tick the boxes on the entry form to indicate the trophies for which they are eligible A list of those eligible for each special trophy will be posted on the Official Notice board before the Championship and may be corrected up to Tuesday 29th March After that time no changes will be made to the list of Special Trophy entrants and this will not be a basis for a claim for redress under RRS 62.1(a) Additional other prizes may be awarded Race Prizes: In addition to the above Perpetual Trophies, the following prizes will be presented: The top ten crews overall The first female helm. 8 The first youth helm under 18 years of age Last boat overall who has finished all races 18.8 Daily Prizes will be presented each day Other prizes may be awarded DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY 19.1 Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk See RRS 4, Decision to Race. The Organizing Authority, Barbados Sailing Association, Barbados Yacht Club, International Jury, Principle Race Officer will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to during, or after the regatta The competitors are entirely responsible for their own safety, whether afloat or ashore and nothing, whether in the Notice of Race or Sailing Instructions or anywhere else reduces this responsibility INSURANCE Each participating boat shall be insured with adequate third-party liability insurance. Each entrant accepts the responsibility for having adequate 3 rd party insurance CONTAINERS Container placement will be in the grounds or close to the Barbados Yacht Club and easily accessible throughout the regatta.
