1 The Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (ABN ) AFFILIATE MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION FORM APPLICATION GUIDELINES The requirements for Affiliate Membership are set out in our Conditions of Membership (Section 2.1.2) available from the AIQS website Applicants should read and understand the requirements of the Affiliate Membership prior to submitting application. APPLICATION PROCESS Affiliate Membership is available to a wide variety of practitioners of Quantity Surveying. The required experience must be in a minimum of one (1) of the core competence areas. Refer to AIQS Competency Standards. Applications must be able to demonstrate they can satisfy one (1) of the following sets of prerequisites: Pathway 1 Graduates who have obtained Approved Academic Qualifications, and Be engaged in the practice or teaching of Quantity Surveying, and Nomination by a Member, Associate or Fellow grade member of good standing. Pathway 2 Graduates who have obtained a non-accredited degree or diploma course in Quantity Surveying or an allied profession, and Minimum two (2) years experience under approved supervision or four (4) years non-approved supervision (that can be verified by some other acceptable means), and Nomination by a Member, Associate or Fellow grade member of good standing. APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS Applicants are required to demonstrate their proficiency, experience and ability in Quantity Surveying in order to qualify for Affiliate Membership. The minimum level of supporting information to be submitted with your application is as follows A letter of support from a Corporate member of the AIQS or Recognised Institute of Quantity Surveyors (approved supervision) proposing the applicant and confirming the applicant has completed the requirements for experience. This nominator would normally be the applicant s employer or manager; A detailed up to date CV or Resume; A record of the applicant s relevant employment including dates and role; Sufficient support information clearly showing the applicant has the appropriate experience in the required competencies; Referees that can verify experience and expertise. 2 APPLICATION FEE Application Fee is non-refundable. This must accompany your Application Form for Affiliate Membership. The Application Fee is payable in Australian dollars. Payment can be made either via Bank draft (made payable to the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors) or Credit Card details are required. The Application Fee is: Australian applicants AUD$ (GST included). Overseas applicants AUD$ (GST exempt). The applicant is required to list at least two projects under each core competence. Projects may be repeated if the applicant worked on the project throughout the entire project life. CORE 2: Contract Documentation. This includes general procurement advice, quantification, measurement and documentation, tender process. eg This project was in two stages and the BoQs was measured for each stage separately Page 7 of 16

Certification must appear on the front of the document (not the back page). TIMEFRAME FOR ASSESSMENT Applications for Affiliate Membership may take a number of months to be processed.
