1 Introduction: THE BIBLE, THE CONSTITUTION AND SHARIA 1 Corinthians 2: ! Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world with more than one! and a half billion adherents. 2.! Islam was started by Muhammad, an illiterate camel driver in Arabia! in the seventh century.! a.! Muhammad married a rich widow, Khadija.! b.! While meditating in a cave, he claimed Gabriel appeared to him.! c.! Gabriel told him he was the last and greatest of the prophets.! d.! Muhammad said he was taken to the 7th heaven to see Allah.! e.! He tried to spread his faith peacefully, but had little success.! f.! He was forced to flee from Mecca to Medina in 622 (the Hejira).! g.! In Medina, Muhammad began enriching himself and his!! followers by robbing caravans going to Mecca.! h.! From this time forward, his religion was spread by the sword. 3.! The holy book of Islam is the Quran which Muhammad claimed was! revealed to him from 610 to 632.! a.! Islam became a great empire reaching from China to Spain.! b.! It is now having a resurgence with the advent of terrorist!! groups such as Al Qaeda, Boko Haran, ISIS and others.! c.! Since the early 1970 s, the West has been under attack.! d.! Islam has great power in Western Europe and is growing!! rapidly in the USA.! e.! It poses the greatest threat today to our freedom as Americans!! and to our faith as Christians!! f.! Unless Islam is stopped, our children will live under Sharia! 4.! The heart of Islamic life is Sharia, the law supposedly given by Allah.! a.! Sharia is based on the Quran, the hadiths (alleged sayings of!! Muhammad) and the learned decisions of Islamic scholars.! b.! Since Sharia is considered divinely given, there is no place for!! constitutions or man-made laws. (1)
2 Discussion: I.! SHARIA IS NOW INCORPORATED INTO THE BRITISH LEGAL! SYSTEM.! A.! In Muslim areas, legal matters are decided by Islamic judges!! using Sharia law.! B.! In the United States, there is a movement to incorporate!! Sharia into our legal system.!! 1.! At least ten states have amended their constitutions or!!! passed legislation to prevent this happening.!! 2.! Beginning in 2017, Dearborn, MI will use Sharia to decide!!! legal matters involving Muslims.!! 3.! Carolyn Walker-Diallo was sworn in on the Quran as a!!! judge of the 7th municipal district in Brooklyn, NY.!!! a.! She is the first female Muslim judge in America.!!! b.! Will she use Sharia to determine cases involving!!!! Muslims or will she follow the laws of the US?! II.! SHARIA IS CONTRARY TO WESTERN CIVILIZATION.! A.! Honor killing is sanctioned by Sharia.!!! 1.! Mark Gabriel s (author of islam and Terrorism) father tried!!! to kill him when he learned Gabriel believed in Jesus.!! 2.! Noor al-maleki, 20 year old daughter of Iranian immigrants!!! in Phoenix, AZ, was run down and killed by her own father!!! because she had become too Americanized.!! 3.! The UN reports at least 5000 honor killings a year.!! 4.! The FBI reports an average of 27 a year in the US.! B.! Women have almost no rights in nations where Sharia prevails.!! 1.! In Saudi Arabia, women are not allowed to drive or even!!! leave the house unless accompanied by a male relative.!! 2.! Girls who go to school have their lives threatened. (2)
3 !! 3.! A rape victim is held responsible for what happened.!!! a.! She may be sentenced to up to 80 lashes in Arabia.!!! b.! Her assailant cannot be convicted unless there are!!!! four male witnesses.!!! c.! Even then she will be a disgrace to her family.!! 4.! Women are not allowed to vote in areas where Sharia is!!! strictly observed. III.! SHARIA DISCRIMINATES AGAINST ALL RELIGIONS BUT ISLAM.! A.! Believers in Christ and other religions are considered!! dhimmis (second class citizens).!! 1.! They must pay an exorbitant tax called jizya.!! 2.! They cannot vote or take part in the government.!! 3.! They are not allowed to own weapons to defend!!! themselves.!! 4.! They are not allowed to teach others their faith.!! 5.! They cannot build places of worship or repair those in!!! existence.!! 6.! Saudi Arabia is using billions we pay them for oil to build!!! hundreds of mosques every year all over the US, but not!!! one church building is allowed in that nation!! B.! Our own government accommodates those who hold to Sharia!! while discriminating against believers in Christ.!! 1.! In US public schools, Christian and Jewish prayers are!!! forbidden, but Muslims are excused for their prayers.!! 2.! Special washing facilities are installed for them.!! 3.! Some schools have taken pork off their school lunch!!! menu to appease Muslims.!! 4.! In 2014, Rocky Mountain High School in Ft. Collins, CO!!! became the first US public school to recite the Pledge of!!! Allegiance in Arabic replacing God with Allah.!! 5.! Bill Clinton was the first president to celebrate the end of!!! Ramadan by hosting a dinner for islamic clergy. (3)
4 !!! a.! The ritual includes shouting Allahu Akbar.!!! b.! George W. Bush and Barack Obama have continued!!!! hosting these dinners for Islamic leaders.! C.! A bill was proposed in Congress (House Bill 569) to make it a!! crime to promote violence, bigotry and hateful rhetoric against!! Muslims.!! 1.! What about such rhetoric against Christians and Jews?!! 2.! What about freedom of speech? Would this sermon be!!! considered as bigotry or hate by Muslims?!! 3.! In a speech before the UN General Assembly on Sept. 25,!!! 2012, Pres. Obama said: The future must not belong to!!! those who slander the Prophet of Islam. IV.! ISLAM IS A THEOCRACHY.! A.! Allah rules through Sharia.!! 1.! Constitutions and man-made laws are blasphemy for!!! they are an affront to Allah.!! 2.! This is why democracies do not flourish in strict Islamic!!! nations.! B.! Islam is as much a political and military system as it is a!! religion.!! 1.! A mosque is not like a church.!! 2.! It is a place of prayer, social meetings, military planning,!!! and government for the Islamic community. Conclusion: 1.! As Americans and Christians, our greatest enemies are ignorance! and apathy! 2.! Most of us do not know the danger of this evil religion! 3.! Many of us do not want to know hoping it will somehow just go away. 4.! Remember that Islam today is strongest in those areas where the! Lord s church began! (4)
