2 Eligibility Central Alberta Freestyle Ski Club is pleased to be hosting a Club Competition. We are welcoming all Learn-to-Train and early Train-to-Train athletes capable of competing on the venues to participate in the club comp. Generally, athletes who have competed in Canadian Series or Canadian Open Tour national competitions last year will be too advanced for this event. Age Categories Athlete s age for the purpose of categories is determined by their age on January 1. Medals will be awarded for U10, U12, U14, U16 and U18 age categories. Events The competition will have two events, moguls and big air. The mogul course will be 250M long with a 23-degree pitch and 2 full size jumps. This puts it just below the level of difficulty set for a provincial level mogul competition. The big air course will have 3 jumps (1 small, 1 medium and 1 large). Coaches should ensure that all athletes registering for the event could safely ski the venues. The mogul competition will run on Saturday - best of two runs. The big air competition will run Sunday - best of two runs. Athlete CFSA License/Membership All athletes must have a valid CFSA license to compete. Please include the new 7-digit Player Id# on the registration form. Registration and Payment Please submit one of the attached team registration forms per club before February 19, 2016 by to: Jodi Neish (jodi@platinumland.ca; ). Team representatives / coaches are required to submit payment, providing one team cheque for registration and banquet fees Friday February 26 th or Saturday February 27 th to the CAFSC registration desk at Canyon Ski Resort s south meeting room. Bio Sheet Please complete a Bio Sheet (attached below) for each athlete and have it ready for submission when you pick up your registration package at the Registration Desk. Bibs Clubs are asked to provide their own athletes with bibs and indicate each athlete s bib number on the registration form. If clubs do not have access to bibs, there will be a limited number of loaner bibs available. A deposit of $20.00 per bib is required and will be refunded upon bib return. One cheque per club for all loaned bibs is preferred (separate from registration).

3 Event Cancellation If an event is cancelled each athlete will be refunded all but $30 of the entry fee. This is because the organizing committee still needs to pay the officials a portion of their compensation. Injury Refund Should an athlete get injured during official training for the event and cannot complete, the athlete will be refunded everything except a $30 administration fee. An injury refund request must be accompanied by a CFSA accident report from the coach and submitted to the registrar prior to running the start list. Requests for refunds for other extraordinary circumstances will be considered at the discretion of the organizing committee. Lift Tickets Competitors and families: Tickets may be purchased at the Canyon Ski Resort. Best deal: For season pass holders (from a ski hill with reciprocal agreement) show your ski pass to receive 25% off regular price (taxes not included). Please refer to this link for regular prices: Volunteers Success of all events through the season depends on volunteers. Volunteers are needed for course prep and event positions. If you are interested in volunteering at this competition, follow the link and sign up for any position you can help out with. Otherwise come to registration at 8:00 a.m. to be assigned a position. Volunteer lift tickets/and lunch will be provided to volunteers on a first-come/first-serve basis. Competitors are required to have his/her own medical and life insurance and a valid CFSA competitor license. The organizing committee, Central Alberta Freestyle Ski Club, Canyon Ski Resort, the Alberta Freestyle Skiing Association, and the Canadian Freestyle Ski Association shall not be responsible for accidents, damaged equipment and/or second or third party claims during the staging of the event. Banquet The banquet will be on Saturday February 27 th at the Bourbon Grill, th Street, Red Deer. Directions: Doors will open at 5:30 pm with dinner at 6:00 pm. There will be a cash bar and host hotels are in the same parking lot as the Bourbon Grill! There will be a silent auction and a 50/50 draw. Banquet tickets are $25 per person and $15 per child (10 years and under).
