3 Before You Start 1. DepositNow! Web has the following Hardware and Software requirements: Processor Speed : 600 MHz RAM : 512 MB Hard Disk Space : 200 MB free space Operating System : Windows 2000 (with Service Pack 4) or Windows XP (with Service Pack 2) Internet Browser : Internet Explorer 6 (Service Pack 1) or above Internet Access : DSL or better preferred USB : To successfully complete the DepositNow! Web setup you will need Administrative rights to the workstation. To verify that you are an Administrator or have administrative privileges for your workstation running Windows 2000 or Windows XP do the following: 1. Open the Windows Control Panel. 2. Right-click on User Accounts (Windows XP) or Users and Passwords (Windows 2000) and select Open. 3. Select the Users tab. 4. If Administrators is displayed in the Group column for your user name, you have administrative privileges. Note: If a technical support group handles software installations for your workstation you should coordinate your DepositNow! Web installation with them before proceeding through the steps outlined here to ensure a successful install. 3. DepositNow! Web utilizes an ActiveX Control to interface with the scanning device you ll install on your workstation. Without the ActiveX Control DepositNow! Web won t be able to scan checks. Your Internet Explorer (IE) Security Settings as well as the settings of other Pop-up blockers or Security applications, like Norton or McAfee, may impact your DepositNow! Web installation. 4. The DepositNow! Web ActiveX Controls are marked as safe and are designed to work with Internet Explorer 7.0 s default Internet Security settings. If your Company s Internet Policy is more restrictive you should have your Technical Support Group perform the installation or coordinate to have them on stand-by for your installation should you need their assistance. 5. The Internet Explorer (IE) 6.0 or 7.0 Internet Security Settings documents in the DepositNow! User Guide are available to help you validate your IE settings to ensure that the DepositNow! Web ActiveX control is successfully downloaded. Your settings should mirror those in the documents for best results. For other pop-up blockers or security applications please refer to their respective User Manuals. DepositNow! Web Getting Started Guide Page 3 of 25

4 Logging into DepositNow! Web and Scanner Setup 1. Launch Internet Explorer and enter Branded URL in the address line. 2. Enter your DepositNow! Web Username and Password and press ENTER or click on the SIGN IN button. DepositNow! Web Getting Started Guide Page 4 of 25

5 3. When the following page appears, select the Admin Tab. 4. Next to STEP 1: Select the link CLICK HERE to download the Scanner Installation wizard. DepositNow! Web Getting Started Guide Page 5 of 25

6 5. Click RUN at the File Download prompt. 6. The following window will be displayed as your machine prepares to run the Scanner Installation wizard. DepositNow! Web Getting Started Guide Page 6 of 25

7 7. Click NEXT to begin the scanner installation process when the Universal Scanner Installer window is presented. DepositNow! Web Getting Started Guide Page 7 of 25

8 8. The following window will be displayed as the scanner setup application is initialized. 9. Click PROCEED when following window is displayed. DepositNow! Web Getting Started Guide Page 8 of 25

9 10. Select the appropriate scanner from the dropdown list box. a. Make sure your scanner is disconnected from your computer. b. If the selected scanner is Panini MyVisionX, make sure that you close any application that is using the scanner. c. Click INSTALL DepositNow! Web Getting Started Guide Page 9 of 25

10 11. If your scanner is the Panini MyVisionX, Click NEXT to continue. (For other scanners, follow the instructions on screen.) DepositNow! Web Getting Started Guide Page 10 of 25

11 12. Click NEXT to install the selected scanner. 13. Click NEXT to install all features. DepositNow! Web Getting Started Guide Page 11 of 25

12 14. Wait as the Setup application copies the necessary files. 15. Click FINISH to close the scanner installation window. DepositNow! Web Getting Started Guide Page 12 of 25

13 Note: Do not connect the scanner to your workstation until you have restarted your machine. 16. To complete installation RESTART your computer then follow the steps below. 17. Once your computer has restarted, ensure your scanner is powered on, and then connect the scanner s USB cable to your computer s USB port. Note: Windows will display the following messages after connecting the scanner s USB cable to your workstation: DepositNow! Web Getting Started Guide Page 13 of 25

14 18. After you have installed the scanner drivers as mentioned above, select the appropriate scanner from the Select Scanner dropdown list box. DepositNow! Web Getting Started Guide Page 14 of 25

15 19. Click SET SCANNER to download the Active X control for your scanner. 20. When the Active X control is being downloaded, the following screen will appear. Wait as the ActiveX Control in downloaded. 21. After download is complete, in your Internet Explorer, a bar appears as below that says To help protect your security, Internet Explorer stopped this site from installing an ActiveX control on your computer. 16 22. A menu appears as shown in the screenshot below. Select Install ActiveX Control 23. A dialog box appears as shown in the screenshot below. Click the INSTALL button to install the ActiveX control. Congratulations! Your installation is complete. You are now ready to begin creating deposits! DepositNow! 17 Creating a Batch 24. When the Active X control download is complete, the following screen will be displayed. Select CLICK HERE to create a new batch. DepositNow! Web Getting Started Guide Page 17 of 25

18 25. Select a location from the Location Name dropdown box and enter a Batch Name. If you are configured for Control Totals, specify them. Click CREATE BATCH 26. The Scan Checks screen will appear indicating the Status and Operation of the scanner as noted in the red boxes below. Place a check in the scanner input hopper and click SCAN CHECK. DepositNow! 19 27. If you wish to change the settings of your scanner, click SETTINGS.(The settings dialog box depends upon the set scanner.) Change the settings as per your need and click OK. For Panini Scanner, the Scanner Settings dialog box appears as below: 28. Once you have completed scanning your checks, click DONE after reviewing both front and back of the check. DepositNow! 20 29. If the MICR read by the scanner is invalid, the Rescan button is shown as below. a) If your location is provided with the feature of editing MICR, click EDIT MICR to edit the MICR line to a valid one. b) Click RESCAN to rescan the check. 21 30. Click NEXT after verifying the Amount and MICR information. DepositNow! Web Getting Started Guide Page 21 of 25

22 31. Click SUBMIT BATCH after reviewing the Batch Details information. 32. You will receive a last warning message before submitting the Batch, Click SUBMIT. DepositNow! Web Getting Started Guide Page 22 of 25

23 33. Notice the Status has changed to Accepted. The Batch has been sent to the server for processing, Click OK. DepositNow! Web Getting Started Guide Page 23 of 25
