4 RESCUE We took a new Naiad along the coastline to all of the significant rescue spots. Traditionally this would take 1 to 1.5 hours in the DGR but the Naiad did it in 26 minutes with an unfamiliar crew. The most striking thing, however, came from the forgiving nature of the hull and the realization that fast response times could be achieved with less experienced crews. ALBANY SEA RESCUE, WEST AUSTRALIA RESCUE CREWS ARE OFTEN CALLED OUT WHEN CONDITIONS ARE AT THEIR WORST. SO IT GOES WITHOUT SAYING THEY NEED A BOAT THAT WILL GET THEM TO AN INCIDENT QUICKLY AND BACK HOME SAFELY. The strength and performance of Naiad has been well proven by our many rescue and military customers from all parts of the world. But it s closer to home, in some of the most challenging sea conditions anywhere, that Naiad has established its reputation. In fact, more than 60 boats have been delivered to Coastguard New Zealand, and 50 Naiads now operate as rescue boats throughout Australia. 5 PILOT The Hawaii Pilots Association currently operates a fleet of five Naiad pilot boats servicing traffic on four of the Hawaiian Islands. They have proven to be extremely rugged and seaworthy. Two characteristics of the Naiad high performance hulls that the pilots and boat crews really appreciate are their very good stability and comfortable, dry ride in rough seas.
