1 Corporate and Special Events Executive job description and person specification Job title Reporting to Key relationships Corporate and Special Events Executive Head of Fundraising Events team, corporate partnerships team, Director of Fundraising, Individual and Legacy Giving Executive, executive office team, and other internal and external contacts. Hospice UK was founded in 1984 as Help the Hospices and is the national charity for hospice care. We represent and support our member hospices and work with them and other organisations to develop and improve hospice and palliative care throughout the UK and across the world. Job description Purpose of role This role is to work with colleagues to identify events that support the income generation plan and this will include special events for corporate partners or as an event to cultivate our major donors. Working collaboratively with colleagues to identify and meet a range of needs through creative and innovative events will be critical. The role will work most closely with the corporate partnerships team but needs to work across the wider team with the Individual and Legacy Giving Executive and across the charity, especially with the executive office. The role will successfully project manage the events from conception to delivery with post event logistics and analysis. 2 Key tasks and responsibilities 1. Events for our corporate partners To develop and manage a programme of bespoke events for employees and supporters of corporate partnerships To work in collaboration with the corporate partnerships team to develop events that are right for the company and its employees. To market, recruit and promote the events through various channels, including visiting and presenting to companies where necessary. To support a volunteer team to organise and manage cultivation and special events. To support participants to maximise their fundraising potential and their relationship to Hospice UK. To ensure that events operate to budget and meet income targets. To work with an events company, where necessary, to organise challenge events. 2. Special events Develop and manage a portfolio of special fundraising and cultivation events, working in partnership with relationship leads including staff and trustees, for prospective donors including individuals, major donors, trusts and foundations and corporates. To work in collaboration with the executive office and individual giving executive to develop a portfolio of events to engage our major and individual donors, for example, gala dinners, drinks receptions, award ceremonies etc. Manage the special events expenditure budget, allocating resources to achieve maximum value, reporting and re-forecasting as required. Planning, project management and delivery of event logistics for all special events. Keep up to date on best practice within the charity sector with a focus on special events, highlighting trends and insight that could inform planning. 3. These duties will include: Developing project plans and budgets to deliver a portfolio of events. Devising and delivering marketing plans for each event to attract the maximum number of candidates, whilst also raising the profile of Hospice UK. This will involve liaising with designers to produce adverts and other promotional media which comply with our visual identity guidelines and analysing which channels would be most suitable for promoting the event.

3 Build excellent collaborative relationships with colleagues from across the organisation to cross-sell events to existing corporate and individual supporters to maximise income and awareness for Hospice UK. Working closely with the Events Assistant to oversee participant mailings, event logistics and ensuring that the banking and thanking process is running smoothly. Acting as the main point of contact with event partners, our sponsors and event planners to ensure that specific aspects of the project such as health and safety, catering orders etc - are on schedule and meeting requirements. Identification, negotiation and management of third party suppliers and partners to support the delivery of event logistics ensuring contractors meet their obligations. Monitoring and evaluating events to ensure that they are progressing in line with plans. Monitoring the fundraising events environment for competitor analysis and building a useful network of supplier and sector contacts to assist with event delivery. This role profile is not exhaustive and is subject to review in conjunction with the post holder and according to future changes/developments in the service.

4 Person Specification Experience and knowledge Creative and innovative ideas for corporate and special events Demonstrable experience in account managing events successfully, meeting budget. Direct and demonstrable experience of charity corporate and special events Experience of delivering projects simultaneously within an agreed timescale. Demonstrable experience of building strong relationships with customers, clients or supporters to achieve strategic goals. Knowledge of a range of marketing planning and promotion techniques across a variety of media and their application to events fundraising. An understanding of the objectives for and processes involved with securing and maintaining charity/corporate partnerships Experience of using a database Experience in health and safety and the legal aspect of events, such as risk assessments and charity tax. Familiarity with the codes of practice. Skills and abilities Excellent organisational skills with the ability to apply project management principles and effectively manage and prioritise a varied workload Strong interpersonal skills and the confidence and ability to liaise and negotiate at a senior level A strong collaborative focus and professional approach with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships. Ability to ensure that the multiple colleagues and stakeholders involved in an event are kept informed and engaged in the development, delivery and review of an event. Able to work with others to identify needs for an event and use expertise to shape a successful outcome, managing expectations and keeping people connected whilst striving to deliver as close to the requirement as possible. Strong attention to detail and ability to engage and deliver all elements of an event to the highest standard Self sufficiency and resilience with the ability to think on your feet and problem solve under pressure Confident and professional presentation skills to smaller and larger groups Other requirements of the role Happy to work out of hours (some evening and weekends) when required for events. Flexitime and TOIL will be provided in most circumstances

Further contributions can be made to the scheme and Hospice UK will match contributions of up to 7% of your gross salary. Is provided upon start date at three times salary, subject to acceptance by our insurers A cash plan scheme, which provides payments towards everyday healthcare treatments for example dental, optical etc. up to a policy limit. All employees will be covered under level two of the scheme. We offer childcare vouchers Loaning of a cycle via a salary sacrifice scheme. An interest free loan is provided 25 days per year, increasing to 30 days with service. The leave year runs from 1 January to 31 December The post holder will be based at Hospice House, Britannia Street, London, WC1X 9JG.
