SDN SOLUTIONS SHOWCASE Carrier/WAN SDN ONF SDN Solutions Showcase Theme Demonstrations
SDN SOLUTIONS SHOWCASE High Performance Switches for the Intelligent Edge NoviFlow Inc., NoviSwitch 1248 and NoviSwitch Open 2 Networking Foundation
About NoviFlow SDN SOLUTIONS SHOWCASE NoviFlow offers High Performance Programmable SDN/OpenFlow Switches SDN switches designed to meets the specific needs of carriers: High throughput (up to 200 Gbps), Support for up to a million flows, Implements ALL OpenFlow 1.3 matching fields, actions and instructions Easy customization via use of Network Processors NoviSwitch has been extensively tested by Tier One operators 3
The situation Networks today are dealing with massive growth and ever changing usage patterns that challenge current network devices and push management tools to their limits This situation is most dire at network ingress and egress points, where current gateways are being overwhelmed by evolving demand, causing: Network instability, Increased down-time, and Slowing down service growth and new service deployment Mobility The Cloud 4
Solution: The Intelligent Edge Dynamic matching of networking resources to business value using bandwidthon-demand and automated provisioning for new business models and faster time to revenue. App#1 App#2 App#3 API API API Controller DC A WAN Controller DC B Controller GW PE PE Server Hypervisor Server Hypervisor Server Hypervisor Server Hypervisor OVS OVS 5
Demo 1: UDP Payload matching and flow handling L4-L7 switching: matching, packet content manipulation and flow forwarding based on the UDP payload via the OpenFlow Experimenter Interface. NoviFlow will show how packet content aware switching can be applied in a network gateway or in a TOR switch. Packet Generator 6
Customer usage: L4-L7 (OF Experimenter based) matching optimizing TAP, NBP and load balancing The Solution: Use of UDP packet inspection in Large Production Network Multiple Network Packet Brokers (NPB) working in concern to filter, modify and forward the right packet to the right monitoring tool Filtering: All OpenFlow 1.3 match fields, UPD payload, IP payload (Q1 2014) Packet Replication: Support same packets going to multiple tools Overlapping Policies: E.g. support :80 going to one tool and /24 going to another tool Packet Manipulation: Ability to modify Ethernet, MPLS, IP, TCP/UDP header fields and push/pop PBB, MPLS and VLAN tags Scalability: Ability to scale the number of Network Packet Brokers from one and up. 7
Demo 2: Large flow table capacity demo Description. NoviFlow will demonstrate a single switch (the NoviSwitch 1248) supporting 1 Million entries in its flow table. NoviFlow will show fine-granularity switching being applied in a genuine high throughput OpenFlow 1.3 switch. Packet Generator 8
Customer usage: PE Router offload for more reliable networks that can scale The solution: disaggregation of existing LER/LSR Router functionality by introducing high performance SDN/OpenFlow overlay switch that: Filters network traffic and optimizes its path through the network Provides tunneling and label switching capabilities that function transparently across LAN and WAN boundaries, and Provides centralized policy enforcement for these functionalities without imposing vendor lock-in 9
Let s See the Demo! SDN SOLUTIONS SHOWCASE High performance solutions Customizable and future-proof Leaders in SDN/ OpenFlow Ready now! 200 Gbps and up to1 million flow entries per switch (1U) NoviFlow uses Network Processors enabling software cycle versions releases and field upgradability NoviFlow has a complete OpenFlow 1.3 production-grade solution NoviFlow solutions are compatible with most leading OpenFlow 1.3 Controllers and available for immediate deployment in real-world networks Thanks for listening For more information, see us after the demo or at our booth! 10
