1 Associate in Arts in Liberal Arts to Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Statistics Students completing a BS in Mathematics and Statistics at must successfully complete a minimum of 120 credit hours, including 36 hours at the 300/400 level. The following general education and major requirements must also be completed. Additionally, students fulfilling the requirements for a BS degree must complete a minimum of 60 credit hours of combined Math and Science courses. A 2.0 overall GPA is required for graduation. A maximum of 30 non-arts and Sciences hours may be credited towards a BS in Mathematics and Statistics, including a maximum of 3 hours of activity courses in physical education. The Associate in Arts degree (AA) at partners well with the first two years of bachelor degree programs at. Students pursuing the AA may select courses that satisfy both the AA degree requirements and lower division requirements for a bachelor's degree at. Courses that can fulfill requirements towards the AA at and the bachelor s degree at are marked with a symbol. The elective credits within the AA allow students to complete additional general education and lower division courses required for specific majors. The AA degree requires completion of 60 credit hours of academic work with a cumulative GPA of not less than 2.0. does not limit the number of credit hours that may be transferred from a community college and applied toward a bachelor's degree as long as requirements for general education and the major, as well as 36 hours of upper division credit, are met. 3 B. Mathematical, Symbolic and Logical Reasoning (6 minimum credit hours) To fulfill the Math, Symbolic and Logical Reasoning requirement, students must successfully complete two courses. One must be chosen from College Algebra or Math for Liberal Arts. The other may be the equivalent of Math 160, of any 200-level math at, or of Phil 222. Note: Students who have completed four years of secondary mathematics, beginning with Algebra I, will not be required to take the first required math course (Math 110 or 116).
