Name(s): Period: The Human Body Globe You and your partner will put together a globe covering everything we have learned about the human body. You may use your notes, the internet, books, the textbook, or any apps to help you collect your information. This is a major grade and neatness counts! Materials: You will need 3 white posters, makers or dark pens, and colored pencils. Directions: Use the template to cut out 9 circles per poster. Trace the triangle inside of each circle and make sure to put both you and your partners name on every circle (glossy side). Follow the directions for each panel. Make sure you pay attention to the direction of the triangle. Panel 1: Cover Triangle: Human Body Project Name(s) First and Last Teacher Name Class Period Panel 2: Integumentary System Triangle Draw, label and color a cross section of skin List the functions of the integumentary system List all the parts of the integumentary system Give 2 ways that you can help protect and/or take care of your skin Panel 3: Skeletal System Triangle Draw a cross section of bone and label the parts OR draw and label a joint List the 5 functions of the skeletal system List the 5 parts of a bone List the 5 types of joints give an example of each
Panel 4: Muscular System Triangle Draw, label and color the 3 types of muscle tissue Smooth give an example of smooth muscle; label voluntary or involuntary Cardiac give an example of cardiac muscle; label voluntary or involuntary Skeletal give an example of skeletal muscle; label voluntary or involuntary Panel 5: Circulatory System Triangle Draw the path of blood Function #1 of the circulatory system Function #2 of the circulatory system Function #3 of the circulatory system Panel 6: Respiratory System Triangle Draw or explain (paragraph) the path of 02/CO2 Define/explain how the body inhales; what comes in Define/explain how the body exhales; list the waste products (what goes out) Compare/Contrast Breathing vs Respiration Panel 7: Digestive System Triangle Draw a flow chart for the path of food. Define Mechanical Digestion; list locations Define Chemical Digestion; list locations Explain how the digestive system works with the circulatory system. (3 sentences)
Panel 8: Excretory System Triangle Draw, label and color one of the 4 excretory organs & list its waste product (lungs, bladder, kidney, skin) Function 1 Function 2 Function 3 Panel 9: Nervous System Triangle Draw, label and color a nerve cell List the parts of the nervous system List the purpose/function of the nervous system List the 5 senses Panel 10: Endocrine System Triangle Draw, label and color the parts of the brain List the functions of the endocrine system List 3 hormones the body releases and the glands they come from List the parts of the endocrine system Panel 11: Immune System Triangle Draw, label and color the components of blood Explain how the immune system helps maintain homeostasis List the major organs/organ systems that work with the immune system List 2 diseases that affect the immune system
Panel 12: Levels of Organization Triangle Draw a flow chart of the levels of organization Define multicellular give 3 examples of multicellular organisms Define unicellular give 3 examples of unicellular organisms List the classification of Humans Panel 13: Diseases/Illnesses Triangle Draw a bacterial cell or a virus Choose one illness that can affect the body List the symptoms of your illness List the organs and/or organ system(s) the illness attacks List any cures or treatments for your illness Panel 14: Systems Working Together Triangle Draw 2 systems that work together Explain how the 2 systems work together Explain why the 2 systems work together what do they accomplish List the major organs from both systems Panel 15: Organ Transplant Triangle Draw, label and color the organ you chose Why would the organ need replacement Explain if you can or cannot live without the organ; what does it do What system(s) does the organ belong to
Panel 16: Staying Healthy Triangle Draw a food pyramid List the components of a healthy meal based on your pyramid List 3 exercises or activities you could do to stay healthy. Explain how they help. List other things you need to do in order to stay healthy. (Besides diet and exercise) Panel 17: Cells Triangle Draw, label and color an animal cell Define mitochondria and what it does Define respiration Compare and contrast sexual vs asexual reproduction Panel 18: Choose an organ Triangle Draw, label and color a human organ of your choice Organ name Organ function List the system(s) the organ belongs to Panel 19: Stimulus and Response Triangle Draw an example of a stimulus and the body s response (can be internal or external) Define homeostasis Define stimulus and define response What system(s) are affected
Panel 20: DNA Triangle Draw a strand of DNA (double helix) Define DNA Define gene Define trait Things to Remember Each panel must be colored! Use only colored pencils or crayons. No white space is allowed! Go over any writing that you do with marker so it is visible. This project is a MAJOR grade! You are responsible for making sure you and your partner keep up with all the pieces of this project. Make sure you write your names on EVERYTHING and at the end of the day you put everything in your envelope. Putting Together: Top staple panels 1-5 together. All triangles pointing up.
