Gospel Matthew: The Beatitudes 5: 3-12 (see attached) Reflection The Sermon on the Mount is a favorite gospel reading for many people. In the Beatitudes, God is conveying his powerful love for us in so many ways. Jesus, in the Beatitudes blesses all those who seek Peace and all those who bring peace to others. He brings happiness where there is none. He blesses and gives courage to all who are discouraged. He blesses those with hope and those who have lost all hope. He comforts all those who mourn. Jesus said that the reign of God belongs to such as these. He blesses all people and hopes for all people to live in peace and in harmony. The Beatitudes is a very powerful and beautiful teaching

4 4 The Lord s Prayer L: Let us continue our prayer in the words Jesus taught us. R: Our Father... L: Deliver us, Lord, from every evil, and grant us peace in our day. In your mercy, keep us free from sin and protect us from all anxiety as we wait in joyful hope for the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. R: For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours, now and forever. Sign of Peace L: In the love of Christ let us offer one another a sign of peace. L: Behold the Lamb of God. Behold him who takes away the sins of the world. Blessed are those called to the supper of the Lamb. R: Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed. L: The body of Christ L: Let us Pray Lord God, May this Eucharist renew us with courage and strength.
