20 6 Menu settings with buttons cont Quality This menu is used to test the signal quality and the aerial reception quality. It may be necessary to adjust or upgrade the TV aerial to ensure good picture and sound on all channels. For more information see Chapter Reception. The MyM-3T has an inbuilt spectrum analyser to help optimise the aerial installation. For more information see Chapter Antenna Quality Reception Use this menu to measure the reception quality of each channel. If these are not optimal it is possible that the picture and sound quality will deteriorate in poor reception conditions and it may be necessary to adjust the aerial. The information refers to the 2 installed muxes for the 3 channels. The menu shows the channels numbers and frequencies of the 2 installed muxes. Good reception quality requires a strong incoming signal. For more information on the optimal signal strength see Chapter Antenna Signal. It may be necessary to adjust the aerial for optimal signal strength. The signal quality C/N (Carrier to Noise) value is a measurement of the relationship between the aerial signal and disturbance in the channel. This should be higher than 20 db. The BER (Bit Error Rate) measures the ratio of the number of faulty bits received to the total number of bits received. The BER should be as low as possible and less than 2.00E-4 (2*10-4 ) to ensure good quality picture and sound. If all the parameters for the incoming signal are good but there are still problems with the picture or sound quality it is likely that there is a problem with the cable that connects the TV / VCR to the MyM-3T. 20

21 6 Menu settings with buttons cont Channel indicator The MyM Channel indicator can be switched On or Off. When the channel indicator is On, a text box with MyM 1, MyM 2 and MyM 3 will be shown in the upper right corner of the picture on the three output RF channels. After installation, channel indicators is automatically switched on for 8 hours to make it easier to do a channel search on the TV s. During normal operation, the channel indicator is Off Output audio type In this menu it s possible to choose between different Audio types like Nicam, A2 or A2* TV System for audio Here you select which TV system that will be selected for the sound. Most common in Western Europe is B/G Loop through In this menu you can choose whether you want the antenna signals to pass through the MyM. If you select mode "On" then the FM, VHF and UHF band to be imported and thus these signals will be available in the antenna network after the MyM. Appropriate to put in the "On" mode if the MyM is connected to a network with digital TV boxes or TV sets with built-in digital receiver. 21

22 6 Menu settings with buttons cont Audio setting In this menu the audio level can be adjusted between +6dB and -6dB for the three different RF outputs, Channel 1, Channel 2 and Channel 3. NOTE! You have to scroll up or down with the arrow buttons to be able to see and choose all possible settings. 22

23 7 Installation and configuration The MyM-3T can be installed either as a stand alone unit directly on the wall or by the use of a dedicated MyM-3T Security Wall Mount (part number ). The MyM-3T Security Wall Mount secures both the MyM-3T and CAM-modules with a locking function to avoid loss of CAM s and smart cards in public places. Before connecting power to the MyM-3T, make sure that all other connections have been made. A coaxial cable of good quality with an F-connector should be connected to the Antenna input and another one from the RF output to the SMATV network. Connect the power supply and make all necessary settings as described in section 4 and 5. Installation in MyM-3T Security Wall Mount. Accessories MyM-3T Security Wall Mount kit Art no:
