Gulf Coast State Originally signed with West Virginia in November 2013 coming out of New Hope Christian Academy in Thomasville, North Carolina Ranked as the nation s top junior college player by Dan Olson of the Collegiate Girls Basketball Report Named to the 2015 Women s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Junior/Community College Coaches All-America team Averaged 15 points, 12.6 rebounds and shot a team-best 48.7 percent from the field as a freshman at Gulf Coast State Participated in the 2015 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Women s Basketball All-Star Game Rated as a four-star prospect coming out high school by ESPN HoopGurlz, ranking her as the No. 8 overall in her position group Rated as the No. 73 best player by All-Star Girl s Report in 2013 Averaged 8.9 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game as a high school junior Blocked 46 shots and grabbed 79 steals during her junior campaign Was a North Carolina nominee for the 2014 McDonald s All-American game Played AAU basketball for the Lady Phoenix Elite in North Carolina Daughter of Kim Yellock and granddaughter of Sharon Oliver Plans to major in journalism with a focus in sports broadcasting. She s a good get for us. She s a young player that can play the five. We want to continue to work on her skills and get her ready to play at the four or five position. She s had great coaching in high school. Her coach makes her really defend and make a great shot selection. Nia has a background that is going to make her really effective early in her career. 4

Marian (MI)/Centennial (NV) Spent three seasons at Marian High in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, under coach Mary Cicerone before moving to Las Vegas, Nevada, in 2015 Will finish her high school career at Centennial in Las Vegas under coach Karen Weitz Averaged 7.7 points, 3.4 assists and 3.1 steals as a junior Guided Marian to back-to-back Michigan Class A State titles in 2014 and 2015 for the first time in program history Helped Marian win three district championships, three regional titles and two Catholic League titles in three years Garnered All-Catholic League honors during her first three years in high school... Named to the Detroit Free Press All-Area North First Team as a freshman and sophomore Also garnered Detroit News All-Area North honors her freshman and sophomore year Tabbed Detroit Free Press All-State all three seasons, while earning second team All-State distinction from the Detroit News as a junior In 2013, she was named the MLive Detroit Metro Girls Basketball Freshman of the Year Earned an invitation to the USA Basketball U17 Team Trials in 2014 As a junior, helped her team achieve a No. 7 ranking in the USA TODAY Sports Super 25 Expert Rankings Played AAU basketball for the Michigan Shock Daughter of Derek and Julie Thomas Has two younger sisters and one younger brother Her grandfather Richard Royer played football for Notre Dame from Her grandfather Emmitt Thomas played 13 seasons for the Kansas City Chiefs from He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1998 and currently serves as Kansas City s defensive backs coach Plans to major in forensics and criminology with aspirations of pursuing a career in the FBI. Bailey played in a great program and they won two state titles. She is a hardnosed player that plays extremely hard. She is a total team player. 5
