Each year, UVSA NorCal organizes a series of activities to build individual leadership skills and management abilities. The UVSA NorCal Summit s goal is to provide newfound knowledge, relationships, and resources for students to return with the ability to lead and serve their community. 3 Description On behalf of our 9 th annual Summit, the United Vietnamese Student Associations of Northern California would like to extend this valuable marketing opportunity for your business in our organization s program. Our Summit is the largest event put on by our staff members who are affiliates of UVSA NorCal. We are going into our 9 th consecutive year of putting on this leadership conference. In UVSA NorCal s Summit, we hope to empower, inspire, and engage Vietnamese Student Associations (VSA), those affiliated with the United Vietnamese Student Associations of Northern California (UVSA NorCal), as well as other attendees who are interested in learning more about the Vietnamese culture and contributing to their local communities. The UVSA NorCal Summit is a three (3) day conference organized to allow you to directly market to a captive and relevant audience. Guest speakers at the UVSA NorCal conference include professionals, community leaders and elected officials from across the continent. We strive to provide high quality guest speakers who come from many professional fields at our ceremonies and workshops for the benefit of our attendees. UVSA NorCal Summit is entirely volunteer based, composed of college students and young professionals. UVSA NorCal, as a not for profit organization, and none of the proceeds from this Summit will go towards profit. Objectives Bringing together young professionals and college students to build unity and solidarity among Northern California Vietnamese American youths as well as international youths Establishing a network and cross promoting regional events Encouraging and recognizing the growth, leadership and service expanding outside the Vietnamese American community Advocating Vietnamese domestic and international social justice issues Promoting Vietnamese cultural consciousness and community activism Dates and tentative scheduling: Fri, November 6, 2015 Sat, November 7, 2015 Sun, November 8, 2015 Day one: Registration, Opening Ceremony Day two: Workshops & Activities, Gala & Awards Dinner Day three: Closing Ceremony Attendance: Over 300 young Vietnamese American youth leaders primarily from Northern California as well as leaders from Vietnamese Students Associations (VSA) from around the country will attend and connect to develop leadership among their peers, strengthen their organization and reinforce their bond with their community. The information and experience they bring home to share and strengthen their community will have greater potential to reach demographics outside of the Asian American community.

4 Workshops United Vietnamese Student Associations of Northern California Team building, project management, recruitment, culture, life after college, careers, and financial planning Personal leadership development to help develop leadership styles, communication techniques, time and stress management, and career development to build effective leaders within the Vietnamese youth community Case studies and discussions on global and domestic contemporary Vietnamese issues Gala: A Red Carpet event to celebrate, appreciate and honor the sponsors, universities and NorCal UVSA Scholars. Philanthropy: Our Collective Philanthropy Project (CPP) is a community effort to raise for one charitable cause every year. Over $100,000 was raised for our last year s beneficiary, Food Aid Compassion. This year s beneficiary will be Kids Without Borders and collective efforts will continue until our Annual Conference next summer, where we will announce how much was raised and the next beneficiary.

The extent of brand growth can spread throughout the Vietnamese American community as well as into the Asian American community. The graphs below show a collective demographic of the undergraduate student population highlighting the Asian American demographic that are usually directly connected to the Vietnamese American organizations.

9 Asian Americans are the 2nd largest student demographics among eight (8) universities that Norcal UVSA represents, with the exception of UC Davis, UC Berkeley, and San Jose State as the 1 st largest demographic and UC Santa Cruz as the 3 rd largest. The VSAs across each university is exceptionally unique with its multicultural approach.

10 United Vietnamese Student Associations of Northern California How UVSA NorCal Helps This year, UVSA NorCal aims to provide scholarships for deserving students who shows a passion for spreading the Vietnamese culture throughout the community. UVSA NorCal s relationship with local businesses and organizations are actively leading the growing student population to support each other and become leaders themselves. We understand some students may be limited to attend the conference and so we provide a number of ways to make it easier.
