General terms and conditions for flight awards Provided no different terms and conditions are provided, the following terms and conditions apply for the booking and use of Miles & More flight awards. In addition to the following terms and conditions, the conditions of carriage of the operating airline always apply. You can book flight awards online at or for all flights operated by Adria Airways, Austrian Airlines Group, Brussels Airlines, Condor, Croatia Airlines, LOT Polish Airlines, Lufthansa and SWISS. When booking flight awards with other Miles & More airline partners, your local Miles & More Service Team will be happy to help. Flight award bookings are subject to seat availability in the booking class relevant for Miles & More flight awards on the desired route. If you book your flight awards via or you will receive an electronic ticket (etix ). If the destination airport you desire for the return flight is unable to offer an etix for your flight award, you will receive either a regular paper ticket or a code to be used at the Quick Ticket machine at the departure airport for the outbound flight. The destination airport of the outbound flight does not have to be the same as the departure airport of the inbound (return) flight. However, both airports must fall within the same award zone ( open jaw ). For a summary of all the main terms and conditions of booking, see section Same Day Award If the outbound and inbound (return) flights take place within Europe on the same working day, a Same Day award will apply. This award has the same mileage price as the normal flight award. 1.2 One way flight award Generally, flight awards are booked as round trips. In a departure from this, flight awards can also be booked only for one direction (one way flight award). Please note that one way flight awards can only be booked on flights operated by Adria Airways, Austrian Airlines Group, Air Dolomiti, Brussels Airlines, Croatia Airlines, LOT Polish Airlines, Lufthansa, Luxair and SWISS and cannot be booked online. To make your booking or if you have any questions, please contact your local Miles & More Service Team who will be happy to help you. 1.3 Children s flight awards/infants Infants (under two years old) can travel with you free of charge as long as they do not occupy a seat. When infants are transported, the taxes and charges which arise can be invoiced separately in accordance with subparagraph The offer s terms and conditions only apply provided bookings for you and your infant are made via the call centre. As taxes and charges can arise on selected flights

2 even for infants who do not occupy their own seat, we ask that you obtain further information from your local Miles & More Service Team. In addition there is a concession for children aged between two and eleven (under twelve years of age) amounting to 25% on the number of miles required for the usual flight award. Children s awards are only offered on flights operated by Adria Airways, Austrian Airlines Group, Air Dolomiti, Brussels Airlines, Croatia Airlines, LOT Polish Airlines, Lufthansa, Luxair and SWISS. If you wish to make such a booking, please contact your local Miles & More Service Team as these awards cannot be booked online. Booking a flight award for children or infants is only permitted if the child or infant is accompanied on the flight by an adult. 1.4 Round the World flight awards A Round the World flight award ticket includes one Atlantic and one Pacific crossing. There must be an interval of at least ten days between the start of the first intercontinental flight and the start of the last intercontinental flight. A maximum of ten segments (maximum of nine connecting flights) is allowed per Round the World flight award. It is not necessary to fly every segment (e.g. you could fly from Frankfurt to Bangkok, sail from Bangkok to Singapore and then fly on from Singapore), but each non-flown segment counts towards the ten segments allowed. A Round the World flight award ticket remains valid for twelve months from the date of issue. The last flight segment must commence no later than the last day of the award s validity. A maximum of seven stopovers is allowed for. No more than two connecting flights are allowed from the same city. No more than one international departure and one international arrival are permitted in the country from which you start the Round the World flight award. Side trips (detours from the flight route) are permitted. Please note that this flight award can only be booked via your local Miles & More Service Team. In addition to these specific terms, the General Terms and Conditions for Miles & More flight awards also apply (see sections 1 + 2). 1.5 Star Alliance flight awards General Terms and Conditions The General Miles & More Terms and Conditions of Participation apply to, for example, flight award ticket validity, booking deadlines and periods, the issuing and rebooking of flight award tickets, etc.

3 Please note that special terms apply to flight awards booked online (see section 2.2.5). The destinations and service classes available in the various regions are determined by the timetable of Lufthansa and the airline partners which is applicable at the time of reservation. Changes to the timetable made at short notice may not be covered under the listed mileage levels and flights. The availability of flight awards may vary according to the date, season and destination. Individual awards may not be available at certain times. Flight awards are always exclusive of taxes and charges. These are charged and settled separately. Simple open-jaw flights (e.g. where the outbound flight destination and the inbound flight departure airport are not identical) are allowed. The number of miles required is calculated with reference to the higher region chosen. If the outbound and inbound flights of the flight award are booked in different classes of service, the number of miles required for the entire trip is calculated with reference to the higher class. Within the framework of Star Alliance flight awards you can combine Lufthansa and Star Alliance partner flights, as well as other airline partner flights, within one award. Special terms and conditions/particular mileage values with selected airline partners constitute an exception. The Star Alliance flight award chart and terms and conditions of participation also apply to flights operated by Adria Airways, Austrian Airlines Group, Brussels Airlines, Croatia Airlines, LOT Polish Airlines, Lufthansa, Luxair and SWISS (outbound and inbound flights on one of these airlines). We reserve the right to make changes at short notice Stopovers Please contact your local Miles & More Service Team to obtain details of the current terms and conditions Connecting flights Please contact your local Miles & More Service Team to obtain details of the current terms and conditions. 1.6 Lufthansa Private Jet flight awards Price in miles The price in miles for a Lufthansa Private Jet flight award depends on the distance flown and the aircraft type and is offered per seat. One passenger can pay for one or more seats. All the seats must be paid for. Only persons who are also passengers on the flight can pay for the seat price in miles. Moreover, passengers who are not paying in miles may also fly.

4 1.6.2 Cancellation and rebooking charges At variance with flight awards on Lufthansa scheduled flights, the following cancellation and rebooking charges apply to flights with Lufthansa Private Jet: - flights may be cancelled or rebooked free of charge up to 24 hours prior to departure - between 24 and 12 hours prior to departure, 50% of the price in miles is payable - if less than 12 hours prior to departure, 100% of the price in miles is payable. The usual rebooking and cancellation charges of 50 for normal flight awards do not apply to flights with Lufthansa Private Jet. Otherwise, the General Terms and Conditions of Business of Lufthansa Private Jet apply. 2. Terms and conditions of booking flight awards 2.1 Payment in miles and refunds The number of miles required for your flight award is calculated on the basis of a return flight in the chosen award zone, the desired service class and the advance booking deadline. One way flight awards cost 50% of the miles required for a normal outbound and return flight (see section 1.2 One way flight awards ). Flight awards for children aged between two and eleven (under 12) cost 75% of the miles required for a regular flight award for an outbound and return flight (see section 1.3 Children s flight awards/infants ). At present one way flight awards and children s flight awards can only be booked by calling your local Miles & More Service Team. The miles required to book the flight awards will be debited from your mileage account once the reservation has been made. Flight awards which are cancelled prior to the start of the outbound journey can be refunded subject to a cancellation charge of 50. Any taxes and charges which arise will be charged separately and, if appropriate, debited from your credit card. Alternatively, for domestic and international award flights in Europe, the taxes and charges can also be paid for in miles (with the exception of charges for rebooking, cancellation, express charges, etc.). Customers who are residents of Germany can avail themselves of the electronic direct debiting scheme (ELV) when booking an etix online. 2.2 Advance booking deadlines and ticket validity You can book your flight award up to 361 days in advance of the desired travel date. Flight awards are valid for twelve months after the date of issue.

5 If the airports on your flight award route are etix -capable, booking your flight award will not incur a service charge as long as you book at least two working days prior to departure. We regret that flight awards cannot be booked less than two working days in advance of the date of departure. Should you decide to book a flight award at short notice (between four and seven working days prior to the date of departure) for an airport which cannot handle etix, your ticket will be sent to you by express post for a service charge of 20 within Germany and Europe or 40 outside Europe. As long as you book your flight award for an airport which cannot handle etix at least seven working days prior to the start of your planned journey, you will receive your flight award ticket directly by post. Please check that your address details are correct and complete in your Miles & More online profile. 2.3 Rebooking, transferability and booking for a third party A charge of 50 or CHF 70/USD 60 ( 150 or CHF 220 if rebooking on a Same Day award) is payable for rebooking or cancelling a flight award. This amount may vary or be waived for certain flight awards. Only the date and time of a booking can be changed. It is not possible to change routes. A flight award once issued is non-transferable. The sale, exchange or offer for auction of award documents is not permitted. Miles from different mileage accounts cannot be transferred or combined. Flight awards can also be given without payment to friends and relatives without your having to accompany them on the flight. Flight awards passed on to third parties must be booked by you in person. The relevant number of miles will be debited from your mileage account. 2.4 Special rules for status customers Companion Awards Senators and HON Circle Members can book Companion Awards online. Where a Companion Award is used, the Miles & More member and the companion must both complete the entire journey together. The companion receives a 50% discount on the flight award. The Companion Award cannot be combined with a reduced flight award (e.g. Fly Smart, mileage bargains (Economy Savers) and children s flight awards). 2.5 Online terms and conditions: Fly Smart flight awards can only be booked online and no further discounts can be offered on them. It is not possible to change the route to be flown with an online flight award booking.

6 At present it is only possible to cancel a flight award that has been booked online by contacting your local Miles & More Service Team. Rebookings, where allowed, can be made directly online. Please note that a charge of 50 per person and rebooking will be charged for rebookings and cancellations. Please note that different and/or supplementary booking terms and conditions apply to reduced flight awards. (For further information, see section 3: Reduced flight awards.) 3. Reduced flight awards 3.1 Summary of all the General Terms and Conditions of Booking Reduced flight awards can only be booked provided that seats are available in the booking class relevant for reduced Miles & More flight awards on the desired route. Reduced flight awards are exclusive of taxes and charges. The Companion Award for Senators and HON Circle Members is not available for reduced flight awards (see section Companion Awards ). This also applies to children s and one way flight awards (see sections 1.2 One way flight awards and 1.3 Children s flight awards/infants ). Reduced flight awards with connecting flights: Here the next available connecting flight is always automatically allocated. It is not possible to select any connecting flight of your choice, not even via your local Miles & More Service Team. Rebooking /cancellation It is not possible to rebook or cancel a reduced flight award. It is not possible to have the miles refunded. Taxes and charges paid are refunded exclusive of the amount applicable to the YQ charge. Section of the General Conditions of Carriage (Passenger and Baggage) applies accordingly. If you have paid for the taxes and charges at a flat rate using miles, the YQ charge corresponds to 10,000 miles. Ticket validity: the maximum ticket validity is one month from the travel date. The terms and conditions of booking listed here apply to all reduced flight awards. If, in addition, any special booking terms apply, you will find them in the sections below Fly Smart awards Fly Smart flight awards cost fewer miles than regular flight awards and for this reason are subject to special terms and conditions Special terms and conditions of booking Fly Smart awards: Fly Smart flight awards are subject to availability. They can be booked online in Economy and Business Class but only on routes for destinations offered for selection under Airports in the online flight award booking form. They are available for all flights operated by Adria Airways, Austrian Airlines

7 Group, Condor*, Croatia Airlines, LOT Polish Airlines, Lufthansa and SWISS with JP, OS, DE, OU, LO, LH and LX flight numbers. * Not available for Condor Comfort Class Advance booking deadlines and ticket validity Booking period: Between two weeks and two working days prior to the desired departure date. Where a paper ticket has to be issued, at least four working days prior to departure. Paper tickets are only issued where it is not possible to issue an electronic ticket (etix ) for a given route. If there are less than seven working days remaining prior to departure, an express service charge of 20 is charged for flights within Germany and Europe and 40 for flights outside Europe. Minimum stay: For flight awards within the Germany and Europe zones and for flight awards within any other region, the earliest possible inbound flight is the Sunday after the day of the outbound flight. In the case of Fly Smart flight awards to intercontinental destinations, the minimum stay is seven days. 3.3 Special awards Special awards cost fewer miles than regular flight awards or Fly Smart awards and for this reason are subject to special terms and conditions Mileage bargains (Economy Savers) Mileage bargains are special awards offered for a limited period, exclusive of taxes and charges. Mileage bargains can only be booked on routes or for destinations which are communicated as special offers in the appropriate Miles & More media. Further information can be found online at > Spend Miles > Flights, and also in section 3.1. Please note that special terms regarding the travel and booking periods apply to all mileage bargains. Further information can be found online at > Spend Miles > Flights. For mileage bargains a minimum stay of one day applies. 4. Upgrade awards On flights operated by Adria Airways*, Air China, Air New Zealand, All Nippon Airways (ANA), Asiana Airlines, Austrian Airlines Group, Brussels Airlines, Condor*, Continental Airlines, Croatia Airlines*, LOT Polish Airlines, Lufthansa, Luxair*, SWISS, SAS Scandinavian Airlines, Singapore Airlines, TAP Portugal, Thai Airways International, Turkish Airlines and United with JP, CA, NH, NZ, OZ, OS, DE, CO, OU, LO, LH, LG, LX, SK, SN, SQ, TP, TG, TK und UA flight numbers, you can upgrade to the

8 next highest class of service with Miles & More upgrade awards. Not valid for code-share flights. All the terms and conditions applicable to the original ticket also apply to the booking of an upgrade award. An upgrade award is valid only for the route covered by a flight coupon for the ticket. Upgrade certificates remain valid for twelve months. * We regret that upgrade awards with these Miles & More airline partners cannot be booked online. 4.1 Terms and conditions of booking Upgrade awards can only be booked for the next highest class of service. The number of miles required to pay for the upgrade depends on the booking class of the ticket. Please note that the mileage levels stated apply to one route, i.e. one flight coupon. If several routes/flight coupons are required for the journey, the mileage levels are cumulative. To book an upgrade award, you must first have booked and fully paid for a flight (with the exception of flight award tickets) through or the Miles & More online platforms for which the ticket must have already been issued. In this way, all routes for which an upgrade is to be booked must be confirmed in advance in the number class. Upgrades can only be booked for confirmed routes and are subject to availability in Business or First Class. On a European domestic flight, an upgrade is only possible in conjunction with an intercontinental flight, and is included free of charge. Waiting list bookings can be made with an electronic upgrade (eupgrade) with Austrian Airlines Group, LOT Polish Airlines, Lufthansa and Swiss. Upgrades on group bookings are not always possible online. These can only be requested via your local Miles & More Service Team. 4.2 Advance booking deadlines and payment For flights with Austrian Airlines Group, LOT Polish Airlines, Lufthansa and Swiss, an electronic upgrade (eupgrade) can be booked up to three hours prior to departure. This deadline may vary, in some circumstances, from destination to destination, as it can also depend on other factors such as catering orders. The departure must be from a destination at which an eupgrade is possible. Otherwise an upgrade must be issued in paper form. You can obtain information on these destinations from your local Miles & More Service Team. If your upgrade award can only be issued in paper form, you must make your reservation at least four working days before the desired flight date. A booking has to be made at least four or more working days in advance of the desired flight date. The necessary miles will be automatically debited from your mileage account once the reservation has been made. In the case of waiting list bookings, the miles are only deducted when the upgrade is confirmed. Infants (under two years old) can accompany you free of charge as long as they do not occupy a seat.

9 4.3 Special upgrade terms and conditions For Lufthansa, Adria Airways, Air China, Air Dolomiti, Air New Zealand, ANA, Asiana Airlines, Austrian Airlines Group, Brussels Airlines, Croatia Airlines, Continental Airlines, LOT Polish Airlines, Luxair, SAS Scandinavian Airlines, Singapore Airlines, TAP Portugal, Thai Airways International, Turkish Airlines, SWISS and Condor* On Condor, Miles & More upgrades from Economy Class to Premium Economy Class (booking classes Y, O, Z) and upgrades from Premium Economy Class to Comfort Class are not possible. Only upgrades from Economy Class (no booking class is excluded) to Comfort Class are possible. The values contained in column B, Y apply. On Luxair, upgrades are only possible for bookings in booking classes M, Y and K. Upgrades on Brussels Airlines are only possible on bookings made in the booking classes Y, B, M, H, K, Q***, T**, V***, W***. Upgrades with LH, JP, EN, OS, OU, LO and LX are not possible for some particularly favourable offers. On European flights, this applies to the following booking classes with: - Adria Airways (JP) E, G, K, L, T, U - Austrian Airlines Group (OS) L, O, T - Croatia Airlines (OU) E, L, T - SWISS (LX) E, L, P, T - Lufthansa (LH) and Air Dolomiti (EN) E, L, T - LOT Polish Airlines (LO) L, W, O, S**** On intercontinental flights, this applies to the following booking classes with: - LOT Polish Airlines (LO) L, W - SWISS (LX) E, P, T, W - Austrian Airlines (OS) E, K, L, T, O, S, W, U - Lufthansa (LH), Adria Airways (JP), Air Dolomiti (EN), Austrian Airlines Group (OS) and Croatia Airlines (OU) L, S, W, U Upgrades within Europe for domestic flights are only possible on connecting flights in combination with upgrades on intercontinental flights and are already included in the miles for the upgrade of the intercontinental flight. For upgrades with Condor, Adria Airways, Croatia Airlines or Luxair, paper certificates (valid for up to 12 months) are issued, hence upgrade bookings with these airlines must be made at least four working days prior to departure. Upgrades with Brussels Airlines from booking classes Y, B and M ** cannot be obtained online; they are only available through your local Miles & More Service Team. Further detailed information regarding SWISS upgrades is available on Upgrades with Air New Zealand (NZ), ANA (NH), Asiana Airlines (OZ), Air China (CA), Continental Airlines (CO), SAS Scandinavian Airlines (SK), Singapore Airlines (SQ), TAP

10 Portugal (TP), Thai Airways International (TG) and Turkish Airlines (TK) are possible from Economy booking classes Y and B. (With SK and SQ, upgrades are also possible from booking class S, with NH and NZ also from class E and with NZ classes O and U as well). If a First Class seat is available, upgrades are also possible from Business booking classes C and D with these airlines (and from classes J and Z as well with NH and SQ). On Turkish Airlines an upgrade to First Class is only possible on intercontinental flights. Only paperless upgrades (eupgrades) are possible For United With United, it is possible to upgrade from Economy booking classes Y, B, M and H on international flights, and on selected domestic US flights from booking classes E, M, U, H, Q, V, W, S, T, K and L. It is also possible to upgrade from Business booking classes C and D to First Class. eupgrades are possible for upgrades from classes C, D, Y and B. For upgrades from other booking classes, a paper certificate (valid for up to 12 months) must be issued. Hence the booking must be made at least seven working days in advance. An upgrade booking can be swiftly processed up to four working days prior to departure, for a charge. * Upgrades are only possible with the stated airline partners.
