3 Background BN21 Brazil Norway in the 21 st Century Brazil-Norway RD & D & Human Resources Collaboration - Initiative taken by Brazil Oktober Annex til MoU: MOU between MCTI and KD, Objective BN21: Strengthen competences and technology developments in oil and gas in both countries - Why: Common challenges in developing our oil and gas resources, for example: subsea technology, increased recovery - Who will participate: Government, universities, research institutions and industry 3

4 Brasil s offshore market Brasil is one of the most important markets for Norwegian oil and gas industry, turnover about 25 bill. NOK 2012 Petrobras og Statoil are the two companies in the world with the most subsea wells Kilde: Rystad Energy, 2013a 4

7 Government Group is led by the Parties and responsible for the overall governance of the collaboration, including the involvement of relevant government agencies and measures in support of collaborative efforts. Representatives from related bodies associated with the collaboration may take part in the Government Group. 7

8 . Stakeholder Task Force is responsible for submitting plans and proposed actions in relation to the aims. The Task Force should to the extent feasible build on existing collaborative efforts between Brazilian and Norwegian stakeholders. The Stakeholder Task Force consists of representatives from industry, research institutions and academia. 8
