2
ENTRANCE HYMN R ejoice, the Lord is King! Your Lord and King adore; Mortals give thanks and sing, and triumph evermore; Lift up your heart, lift up your voice; Rejoice, again I say, rejoice! Jesus, the Saviour, reigns, the God of truth and love; When He had purged our stains He took His seat above; Lift up your heart, lift up your voice; Rejoice, again I say, rejoice! His kingdom cannot fail, He rules o er earth and Heav n, The keys of death and hell are to our Jesus giv n; Lift up your heart, lift up your voice; Rejoice, again I say, rejoice! He sits at God s right hand till all His foes submit, And bow to His command, and fall beneath His feet: Lift up your heart, lift up your voice; Rejoice, again I say, rejoice! 3
GLORIA IN EXCELSIS THE COLLECT Almighty ever-living God, whose will is to restore all things in your beloved Son, the King of the universe, grant, we pray, that the whole creation, set free from slavery, may render your majesty service and ceaselessly proclaim your praise. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever Amen. First reading The Word of the Lord Thanks be to God. THE LITURGY OF THE WORD 4
RESPONSORIAL PSALM Second reading The Word of the Lord Thanks be to God. GOSPEL ACCLAMATION Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia. Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia. THE HOLY GOSPEL At the end the reader sings or says: 5
THE PROFESSION OF FAITH I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen. STAND 6
THE PRAYER OF THE FAITHFUL Lord, hear us OR Lord, in your mercy. Lord, graciously hear us. Hear our prayer. HYMN AT THE PREPARATION OF THE ALTAR C hrist triumphant, ever reigning, Saviour, Master, King, Lord of heaven, our lives sustaining, Hear us as we sing; Yours the glory and the crown, The high renown, The eternal Name. Word incarnate, truth revealing, Son of Man on earth! Power and majesty concealing By your humble birth: Suffering Servant, scorned, ill-treated, Victim crucified! Death is through the Cross defeated, Sinners justified: Priestly King, enthrones for ever High in heaven above! Sin and death and hell shall never Stifle hymns of love: Pray, my brothers and sisters, that our sacrifice may be acceptable to God the almighty Father. May the Lord accept the sacrifice at your hands for the praise and glory of his name, for our good, and the good of all his holy Church. 7
The celebrant continues with the Eucharistic prayer until the Schoal sings: 8
We all KNEEL as the Celebrant continues with the Eucharistic Prayer. After the Lord s words are said over the bread and the cup we use the following response: The Mystery of Faith W hen we eat this bread, and drink this cup, We proclaim your death, Lord Jesus. Until you come in glory, until you come in Glory. At the end of prayer we all sing: Amen. THE LORD S PRAYER COMMUNION RITE STAND At the Saviour s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say: Our Father, Who art in heaven Hallowed be Thy Name; Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. 9
Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Saviour Jesus Christ. For the Kingdom, the power and the glory are yours Now and for ever. Lord Jesus Christ, who said to your apostles: peace I leave you, my peace I give you. Look not on our sins but on the faith of your Church and graciously grant her peace and unity in accordance with your will, who live and reign for ever and ever. Amen. 10
COMMUNION Behold the Lamb of God, behold him who takes away the sin of the world. Blessed are those who are called to the supper of the lamb. Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed. When offered the Host or when given a blessing the response is: Amen. DURING HOLY COMMUNION F rom heaven you came, helpless Babe, Entered our world, your glory veiled: Not to be served, but to serve, And give your life that we might live. This is our God, the Servant King, He calls us now to follow him To bring our lives as a daily offering Of worship to the Servant King. There in the garden of tears My heavy load he chose to bear; His heart with sorrow was torn. Yet Not my will, but Yours, He said. Come, see his hands and his feet, The scars that speak of sacrifice, Hands that flung stars into space To cruel nails surrendered. 11
So let us learn how to serve, And in our lives enthrone him; Each other s needs to prefer, For it is Christ we re serving. PRAYER AFTER COMMUNION Please SIT as the Banns of Marriage and notices are given STAND THE CONCLUDING RITES THE BLESSING & DISMISSAL 12
FINAL HYMN H ail Redeemer, King divine! Priest and Lamb, the throne is thine; King, whose reign shall never cease, Prince of everlasting peace. Angels, saints and nations sing : "Praise be Jesus Christ our King; Lord of life, earth, sky and sea, King of love on Calvary!" King most holy, King of truth, guard the lowly, guide the youth; Christ the King of glory bright, be to us eternal light. Crimson streams, O King of grace, drenched thy thorn-crowned head and face; floods of love's redeeming tide tore thy hands, thy feet, and side. King, whose name creation thrills, rule our hearts, our minds, our wills; till in peace, each nation rings with thy praises, King of kings. Sing with joy in ev'ry home : Sacred Heart thy kingdom come! To the King of ages, then, honour, glory, love : Amen!" 13
