Who & What it's Designed For What is a Cloud Server? also known as a Virtual Server, is a server that is hardware independent, making them less susceptible to failure and thus more reliable. The server can move between physical servers whilst continuing to perform computing tasks. The physical servers can be in separate locations, even countries. All our cloud servers are hosted in our UK Data Centre. Using a Cloud Server has many advantages. Resources are used efficiently so reduce costs compared to a Physical Dedicated Server, and redundancy is high. Cloud (or Virtual) Servers are not tied to a single physical server, therefore if one physical machine fails, the virtual server can be transferred to another (physical server) automatically. Upgrades can be performed easily and quickly, all that is required is a Page 1

2 reboot for additional resources to be made available. These days there are very few applications that don t run well on a virtual platform, so if you need a Windows Server then our HA Cloud Servers are for you.
