STATEMENT OF INSURER Upon receipt of the specified premium, Auto and General Insurance Company Limited (The Insurer) agrees to full underwrite the Mechanical Breakdown Insurance benefits of this Warranty. The insurer does reserve the right to accept or reject policies at their discretion, dependant on the assessed risk. 2. STATEMENT OF THE ADMINISTRATOR WARRANTY SOLUTIONS has been appointed to administer all claims in respect of this Warranty and undertakes to administer this warranty in accordance with the terms and conditions as laid out in this Policy Document. VEHICLE ELIGIBILITY For any vehicle to be eligible for this Warranty cover, the insured vehicle must comply with the following conditions. THE VEHICLE MUST: At the time of warranty purchase be in sound mechanical condition. Have a valid roadworthy certificate. Have a gross vehicle mass of less than 3 600kg. This Warranty covers all passenger and light commercial vehicles with a maximum carrying capacity of 1 200kg. The following vehicles are excluded from any cover by this warranty: Taxis, hire vehicles, vehicles used for competition, modified vehicles, turbo conversions and rebuilt vehicles (code 3)

3 2 4. IMPORTANT SERVICE REQUIREMENTS NB: This Warranty does not cover the costs of servicing, routine maintenance or accident damage. Petrol Engined Vehicles must be serviced according to the relevant manufacturers specifications and operation intervals as laid out in the Manufacturers Service Schedule. SPECIFIC NOTE TO BE TAKEN ON CAMBELT REPLACEMENT INTERVALS. Should these parameters not be available, please contact the Administrator. Diesel Engined Vehicles must be serviced according to the relevant manufacturers specifications and operation intervals as laid out in the Manufacturers Service Schedule. PLEASE NOTE SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS REGARDING DIESEL PUMP AND INJECTOR SERVICE INTERVALS RELATING TO YOUR DIESEL VEHICLE. (These records will be required in relation to diesel pump or injector failures). Failure to service the vehicle according to the Manufacturer s specifications and intervals will render the policy null and void. Should the insured have any doubt please contact the Adminstrators. For Petrol and Diesel vehicles a maximum service run-over of km or 30 days, whichever occurs first, will be permitted. All services must be performed by RMI Registered Repairers, who have the full repair and service facilities, unless it is otherwise agreed upon by The Administrators. All Service invoices must be retained by the insured, as these will be called for in the event of a claim. Should proof of servicing not be available, claims will be rejected. Please retain all Service Invoices in a safe place to be readily available at all times. Where possible it is also recommended that the Policy Holder makes use of the Selling Dealer s facility for repairs or service. These dealers have a vested interest and relationship with you and usually have a history of your vehicle on hand. 5. POLICY COMMENCEMENT DATE The commencement date of the policy shall be the same date at which the policy was purchased, unless otherwise agreed upon by the Administrator. (The policy start date shall be reflected on the policy schedule). If the vehicle is still subject to a Manufacturer Warranty / Maintenance Plan, the Motor Guard Vehicle Warranty will incept upon expiry of such. (Note that only the 2-year Motor Guard Warranty may be sold on a vehicle still subject to a Manufacturer Warranty / Maintenance Plan). (Note also that it is the Insured s responsibility to inform the Administrator when the vehicle reaches Manufacturer Warranty / Maintenance Plan expiry km, if such occurs before expiry date.) Any failure occurring within first 30 days of Policy purchase must be referred to the selling dealer in order to prevent any inconvenience relating to Administrative processes. There may be a delay at the time between the sale of the Warranty and the capture of the policy with the Administrator.

4 3 6. REPLACEMENT OF COMPONENTS The Administrator reserves the right to repair as opposed to replace components, dependent on the costs thereof. Cover will cease on any used components (not fully reconditioned) fitted to the vehicle without prior authority. 7. CLAIM PROCEDURES In the event of the mechanical failure occurring within 30 days following the purchase of the warranty, the claim must be referred to the selling dealer. (Admin related). Thereafter in the event of the failure of a Covered Item the insured shall, immediately advise the Administrator. Should it be necessary to disassemble any component to establish the cause or extent of the damage, it is the insured s responsibility to authorise such disassembly. The Administrator shall not authorise any diagnostic work or claim prior to being advised of the cause of failure. N.B. Any repair work carried out without prior authorisation from the Administrator will not be covered by this Warranty. The insurer reserves the right to inspect any vehicle or component prior to authority being given. INFORMATION NECESSARY WHEN REPORTING A CLAIM: 1. Owner s name. 2. Policy number. 3. Current kilometre reading. 4. Particulars of claimable items. 5. Cause of failure. 6. Quotation for repair. 7. Address where vehicle can be inspected. 8. Service records. Any invoice not submitted within 45 days of the authorised repair or occurrence will not be considered. COVER PROVIDED BY THIS POLICY Your vehicle is covered against sudden and unforeseen breaking, collapse or failure (hereafter referred to as failure) of the items listed under Components Covered, for the period as stated on the proposal form. Depending on the age and distance covered by your vehicle at the time the policy came into force, or the Cover Selected, it will fall into one of the following categories (as displayed on the Policy Schedule). Pre Owned Benefits a) Benefit A Vehicles less than 5 years old, with less than km at date of policy application. b) Benefit B Vehicles less than 8 years old, with less than km at date of policy application. c) Benefit C Vehicles that do not fall into any of the above categories at date of policy application. Parts and components covered as per pages 5 & 6. Maximum benefits payable as per page 7, 8 & 9 whichever is applicable. Where failure is attributable to fair wear and tear or as a result of overheating, the benefit in terms of the policy shall be limited to half the cost of repair or half the maximum benefit for the component concerned, whichever is the lesser amount. Wear and Tear Restriction Waiver Note that you have purchased a Wear and Tear Restriction Waiver. If this option is selected, the following applies: Where FAILURE of a covered component is attributable to fair wear and tear, the benefit in terms of policy shall be according to the cost of repair or the maximum benefit for the component concerned, whichever is the lesser amount. Any number of failures or repairs occurring at the same time shall be treated as one claim. In this instance the liability will not exceed the amount of the major component benefit.

6 5 9.COMPONENTS COVERED The following components are covered, including removal and replacement: 1. ENGINE: (Petrol and Diesel) Crankshaft, Camshaft, Piston & pins, Bearings, Rings, Conrods, Rocker assembly, Hydraulic Lifters, Valves, Valve springs, Gears, Timing chain, Timing chain tensioners and guides, Oil pump. 2. GEARBOX: (Manual/Automatic) All internal components, including Torque Converter Gears, Shafts, Bearing, Synchros, Hubs, Valve unit, Servos, Valve body, Bands (All components inside casing.) (excl. Flex Plate and manual clutch components). 3. TRANSFFER BOX *: All internally lubricated components. 4. DIFFERENTIAL: All internal components Crown Wheel, Pinion, Carrier Bearings, Pinion Bearing, Planetary gears and LSD components. (Excluding Side Shafts and Wheel Bearings). 5. TRANSAXLE: All internal components. Differential Unit, Gears, Bearings, Shafts, Synchros, Servos and Hubs. 6. 4X4 FRONT DIFFERENTIAL UNIT AND HUBS: Including Differential Lock (all internally lubricated components), Free-Wheel Hubs (Complete Unit). 7. TURBO: Turbo Blower Motor, Compressor Motor, Supercharger, Intercooler. (Only where fitted as standard by the Manufacturer). 8. BRAKING SYSTEM: Master Cylinders, Wheel Cylinders, Callipers, ABS ECU and Servo Unit, (excluding rubber dust covers, piping and friction surfaces). 9. STEERING: Power Steering Pump, All internal parts of Steering Box/Rack and Pinion (excluding rubber dust covers and piping). 10. FUEL SYSTEM: Fuel pump, Airflow Meter, Fuel Accumulator, Fuel Distributor and Warm-up Regulator (excluding Fuel Injectors, Glow Plugs, Throttle Bodies, Carburettor Assemblies and failures attributable to fuel). 11. COOLING SYSTEM: Radiator, Water Pump, Thermo Switch, Thermostat, Viscous Coupling and Engine Cooling Fan assembly, Heater Radiators. (Excluding pipes and hoses). 12. ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS: Alternators, Starter Motor and Windscreen Wiper Motor, Window Winder Motors, Electric Seat Motor, Electric Sunroof Motor, Convertible Roof Motor only. 13. ELECTRIC WINCH *: Original Manufacturer fitted motor only. 14. ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS: Ignition module (all solid-state control and trigger units) VVT Motor, TCI, Coils, Hall Sender Unit, Cam and Crank Position Sensors. (Excluding Ignition switch, Transponder unit and key, wiring, H.T. Leads, Spark Plugs and suppressors).

7 6 COMPONENTS COVERED (continued) 15. MANAGMENT UNITS: (Engine and Gearbox Management Units Only). Central Electronic Control Units, Lambda (O 2 ) Sensor. (Excluding ancillaries such as wiring, sensors and relays). 16. AIR CONDITIONER: Compressor only (Excluding regassing). 17. DRIVE SHAFTS: All components including CV joints (Excluding rubber dust covers, tube and balancing). 18. SUSPENSION: Wishbones, Bushes and Ball-joints. 19. CAMBELT AND CAMBELT IDLER BEARINGS: Breakage and stripping of teeth. (Excludes replacement in normal maintenance schedule and as a result of improper servicing). 20. CLUTCH: Clutch Plate, Pressure Plate, Clutch Fork, Flywheel, Release Bearing, Master Cylinder and Slave Cylinder mechanical failure only. (Note: Failure to any Clutch Component as a result of wear and tear is not covered by this warranty.) 21. EXHAUST: Catalytic Convertor only. 22. WHEEL BEARINGS: All Sealed Wheel Bearings only. 23. CASINGS: Engine Block, Cylinder Head, Gearbox Casing and Differential Housing. (Excluded when covered under Major Component Benefit). 24. ALARMS/IMMOBILISERS/CENTRAL LOCKING: Alarm and Immobiliser Control Units (Excluding Remotes and Batteries) Central Locking Pump only. Limited to one Claim per Policy. 25. GPS NAVIGATION SYSTEM: Navigation Display Unit, Navigation Control Module and Navigation System Harness. 26. DVD ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM: LCD Screen, RF Modulator, Video Cassette Player, Digital Video Disc Player and Power Convertor. 27. TELEPHONE SYSTEM: Phone, Speakers, Microphone, Charger and Cradle. 28. INTERNET ACCESS SYSTEM: Satellite Dish or Wireless Receiver, Satellite Receiver, Power Convertor. *COMPONENTS SPECIFIC TO 4X4 VEHICLES Note that the applicable 4X4 Premium must be selected on the proposal form and paid, in order to ensure eligibility for this specific cover. Any number of failures or repairs occurring at the same time shall be treated as one claim. In this instance the liability will not exceed the major component benefit.

11 ADDITIONAL BENEFITS The following cost will be reimbursed if incurred as a result of a failure covered by this policy. (Cost must be paid by the insured and claimed from the Administrator.) Instalment Payment Protection. Should repairs be delayed for more than 14 days (excluding public holidays) from date of authorisation due to the non-availability of parts, the Warranty will reimburse that portion of the monthly finance instalment, for which the vehicle is out of commission. (Limited to R per policy). Car Hire: In the event of the breakdown occurring within a 100km radius from the insured s home. Available 48 hours after authorisation of claim (limited to R per policy) Excluding fuel. 12. TRANSFERABILITY The warranty that attaches to the insured vehicle is transferable to the subsequent owner of the vehicle upon written request and confirmation by the Administrator. Please post the details of the new owner, together with a copy of the service history and a cheque / postal order for the amount of R105-00, to the Administrator. Upon receipt and verification, the Administrator will advise of Warranty Transfer. It is not possible to transfer a warranty from one vehicle to another. 13. EXCLUSIONS FROM COVER This warranty does not accept liability for the cost of repairs or replacements: 1. Where the cause of the failure existed at the time of the warranty purchase. 2. Of all service items and items that require changing at specific or regular intervals, eg: oil, grease, filters, hydraulic fluid. 3. Additives and anti-freeze, spark plugs, points, condenser, vee and cam belt, consumables and the like. 4. Any failure due to sludge build up. 5. Of burnt exhaust valves. 6. Undertaken without the prior authorisation of the Administrator. 7. Should the odometer not be working, or in the opinion of the Administrator, have been tampered with, altered, disconnected or replaced without the approval of the Administrator. 8. Resulting from oil leaks or for oil leaks themselves. 9. To drive shafts or steering racks as a result of damaged dust covers. 10. Caused by fuels or incorrect lubricants, negligence, accident, unreasonable use or abuse, including any form of competition, improper servicing or malicious damage. 11. Arising out of any consequential loss of whatsoever nature, including failure of or damage to any component or part caused by the failure of a non-covered part. 12. For breakdown of the vehicle or parts of the vehicle that are covered by the manufacturer s warranty at the time of failure. 13. For any part not mentioned under components covered. 14. To all electrical wiring or immobiliser/security settings, whether factory fitted or not. 15. To vehicles which are in any way altered from the manufacturer s specification. 16. Resulting from failure of insured components of the vehicle which are recalled or to be recalled by the manufacturer.

12 Caused by civil commotion, labour disturbances, strikes, war, civil war, mutiny, insurrection, rebellion or revolution. 18. Directly or indirectly caused by ionising radiations or contamination by nuclear waste or combustion of nuclear fuel. The insured must take all reasonable steps and precautions to prevent loss, damage or breakdowns and must maintain the vehicle in an efficient condition and in the event of a breakdown or an impending breakdown, must use all reasonable means to protect the motor vehicle from further loss or damage. No claim shall be payable after the expiry of 3 months or such further time as the insurer may allow from the happening of any event unless the claim is the subject of pending legal action. 14. LIMIT OF INDEMNITY The maximum total amount payable under this policy shall not exceed the current Market Value of the Insured Vehicle. 15. WEAR AND TEAR Wear and Tear is not covered by this Policy. Wear and Tear definition: The gradual reduction in operating performance commensurate with the age, usage and distance travelled by the Motor Vehicle at the time of repair. It is not the intention, of this Warranty to make new vehicles from old. Normal wear and tear or deterioration (not resulting in actual failure) arising, through usage or age of the vehicle is therefore not covered by this policy. Where the repair requires new or exchanged units which, in the opinion of The administrators, is in excess of what is necessary to repair the failure, then the difference in cost will be met by the insured. If in doubt, the insured should consult The administrators. 16. WEAR AND TEAR RESTRICTION WAIVER As mentioned earlier, the insured has the option to purchase a Wear and Tear Restriction Waiver. If this option is selected, the following applies: Where FAILURE of a covered component is attributable to fair wear and tear, the benefit in terms of the policy shall be according to the cost of repair or the maximum benefit for the component concerned, whichever is the lesser amount. 17. RESULTANT DAMAGE Notwithstanding anything to the contrary, failure of or damage to any insured component or part caused by the failure of an insured part is covered by this warranty and the primary cause of failure will determine the benefit payable.

13 CANCELLATION (Three month s written notice required) * Should a warranty be cancelled, commissions and costs incurred will be deducted from the premium, and the customary short-term cancellation pro-rata rates apply to the balance. * Refunds do not apply if a claim has been paid against your warranty. * Should the policy be financed through a bank or form part of a suspensive sale agreement, the refund will be paid to the financial institution. 19. JURISDICTION, CURRENCY AND DISPUTES The laws of the Republic of South Africa, whose courts shall have the jurisdiction of any dispute arising hereunder, shall govern this Warranty. All payments shall be made in the currency of South Africa. All disputes may be referred to an impartial arbitrator (ombudsman, AA, etc.), for which this policy does not accept any liability or costs. The warranty is only valid within the borders of South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Lesotho, Swaziland and Zimbabwe. 20. FRAUD If any claim is in any respect fraudulent or otherwise improperly processed or submitted, or if any fraudulent or improper means or devices are used by the Insured or anyone acting on his/her behalf to obtain any benefit under this Policy, or if any destruction or damage is occasioned by the wilful act or negligence or with the connivance of the Insured, all benefits under this Policy shall be forfeited. 21. QUALITY ASSURANCE Your Motor Guard Warranty Policy has been designed to provide the most Cost Efficient cover available for your personal peace of mind and safe motoring. Should you have any queries or require more information, contact your Dealer or the Administrator. 22. INSURER S RIGHTS AFTER AN INSURED EVENT On the happening of any event in respect of which a claim is or may be made under this policy, the Insurer or Administrator may, without incurring any liability: 1. Inspect the vehicle and take, enter or keep possession of any damaged property. 2. Take over and conduct in your name the defence or settlement of any claim and prosecute in your name for their own benefit. 23. SERVICE HISTORY For your convenience you may record your service history at the back of this booklet and have it stamped and signed by the servicing Dealer. Please retain original Invoices in a safe place.

Medical Emergency Assist Programme C. Legal Assist Programme A. ROADSIDE EMERGENCY ASSIST PROGRAMME The Roadside Emergency Assist Programme provides you with 24/7 access to the following Roadside Assistance services: 1) Roadside Assistance: International SOS will arrange for your assistance at the roadside scene, where the cause of the problem is one of the following:* (*Note: the cost of the service provider will be for your own account). A Flat tyre: We will arrange to have the spare tyre put onto the vehicle. Flat battery: We will despatch a locksmith to open the vehicle and retrieve the keys only, where the keys have been locked in the vehicle. Run out of fuel: We will arrange for fuel to be delivered to you, but the cost of the fuel as well as the delivery will be for your own account. The Roadside Emergency Assist Programme provides you with the following services 24/7 and pays for them, up to the benefit limit, if the cause of the breakdown is of a more serious nature, and not due to one of the reasons listed above: 2) Tow-In: Where the cause of the problem is a mechanical or electrical breakdown, we will arrange and pay for the vehicle to be towed to the nearest approved dealer or competent repairer with full repair and service facilities. (Benefit Limit: R1000) (Note: Should the vehicle be involved in a motor vehicle accident, we will upon request, arrange for the towing of the vehicle to the nearest insurance or International SOS approved panel beater, but we will not be liable for any costs incurred while doing so.) 3) Courtesy Transport: Where the cause of the problem is a mechanical or electrical breakdown, we will arrange and pay for the vehicle to be towed to the nearest approved dealer or competent repairer with full repair and service

(Benefit Limit: R1000) 4) Hotel Accommodation: Where the breakdown has occurred outside a radius of 100km from your normal place of residence resulting in overnight delay, we will arrange and pay for hotel accommodation for the occupants of the vehicle. (Benefit Limit: R1000). 5) Car Rental: Where the breakdown has occurred outside a radius of 100km from your normal place of residence resulting in overnight delay, but where you would prefer to continue with your journey immediately, we will arrange for a rental car to enable you to reach your destination, subject to your qualifying for a rental vehicle in terms of the Car Rental s general terms and conditions. Members must be able to produce a valid credit card to the car rental company in order to collect the car. (Benefit Limit: R1000). 6) Transmission of Urgent Messages: We will relay your messages of delay or changed arrangements to a nominated family member or business colleague at your request. 7) Vehicle Recovery: Where the breakdown has occurred outside a radius of 100km from your normal place of residence, requiring that you leave your vehicle for repair, SOS will arrange for the collection of the vehicle and return the vehicle to your normal place of residence after the repair has been effected. (Benefit Limit R1000). 8) Storage: Should you require it, we will arrange for the safe storage of the vehicle. (Benefit Limit: Maximum of three days). Exclusions: Loss, theft of or damage to keys, locks or gear locks. (Note: If your vehicle has been involved in an accident, the abovementioned services are provided, but they are for your own account. B. MEDICAL EMERGENCY ASSIST PROGRAMME If you are involved in a Medical Emergency, International SOS will provide and pay for the following services: 1) Medical Advice and Information Hotline: The international SOS medical personnel, including paramedics, nurses and doctors, are available 24 hours a day to provide general medical information and advice. This is an advisory service only, as a telephonic conversation does not permit an accurate diagnosis. 2) Emergency Medical Advice and Assistance Hotline: In addition to the general medical advice service, one call to the same number will trigger the International SOS medical operators who will guide you through a medical crisis situation, proved you with emergency advice and organise for you to receive the support you need, utilising the 24 hour Alarm Centre Doctor. This service includes referrals to Crisis lines in case of:

16 15 Family and Domestic Abuse Rape Trauma Child Abuse HIV Suicide Hotline Life Line Poison Hotline In House 3) Medical Doctor present in Alarm Centre 24 Hours per day: International SOS is the only 24 hour Alarm Centre in Southern Africa that can guarantee a Medical Doctor on duty in the Alarm centre 24 hours a day, seven days a week. 4) Emergency Medical Response to the scene of a Medical Emergency: (Primary Response) An appropriate road and/or air response, whichever is the most medically appropriate and logistically possible, will be undertaken utilising an ambulance, a rapid response vehicle or a helicopter (all of which are manned by appropriately qualified and experienced emergency care practitioners, paramedics or Doctors) immediately to the scene of a medical emergency where appropriate life saving support will be provided to the member/s and where relevant, the member/s will be stabilised before transfer is provided to the closest most appropriate medical facility. 5) Medical Transportation: In the event of your involvement in a Medical Emergency, International SOS will arrange for Emergency Medical Transportation, if required, by road and/or by air ambulance, under appropriate medical supervision to the nearest medical facility capable of providing adequate care. Medical considerations, including, but not limited to, airport availability, weather conditions and distance to be covered as assessed by the International SOS Doctor and support staff will determine whether transport will be provided by medically equipped fixed wing Air ambulance, helicopter, scheduled Commercial flight or road ambulance. 6) Inter-hospital Transfer: Inter-hospital transfer or Inter-facility transfer is defined as the transportation of a member or patient by road or air ambulance transport, whichever is the most medically appropriate in the opinion of the International SOS Doctor, one way to a more suitable or appropriate medical facility for managing the member s condition. 7) Medical Repatriation: In the event of your hospitalisation outside of your home town (greater than 100km from place of residence), International SOS will arrange for your repatriation to a hospital in or near your home town: provided that such repatriation is recommended by the International SOS doctor as being medically justified (long term inpatient treatment is required) and requiring medical supervision for the transfer. International SOS will also, at its sole discretion, determine the means of transportation and timing of the repatriation. 8) Escorted Return of Minors: In the event of your minor children being stranded as a result of your hospitalisation, we will arrange for their transportation, under supervision where necessary, into the care of a person nominated by you. 9) In-hospital Medical Monitoring:

17 16 We will monitor your medical condition for the duration of your hospitalisation outside of your hometown. Should you require it we will keep a nominated family member or business colleague informed of your medical progress. 10) Compassionate Visits: Should you be hospitalised outside your hometown for a period exceeding five (5) consecutive days, we will arrange for the transportation of a close relative to visit you. 11) Repatriation of Mortal Remains: In the event of your death outside of your home town (greater than 100km from place of residence), we will assist with the necessary formalities involved in transporting your mortal remains to a location in your home town. C. LEGAL ASSIST PROGRAMME International SOS will provide you with the following services as a result of your experiencing a Legal Emergency: All costs incurred (other than those internal costs incurred by International SOS) will be for your own account. 1) Telephonic Legal Information and Advice Service: The International SOS legal personnel are available during office hours to provide you with general legal information and advice. 2) Referral to appropriate Legal Counsel: In addition to the general legal advice service, one call to the same number will provide access and referral to an appropriate legal advisor. The choice to consult with the referral legal advisor is at your own discretion and the costs so incurred are for your own account 3) Tax Advice: International SOS will provide you with advice and information pertaining to current tax law as well as advice on the requirements for tax submissions, which excludes the submission or completions of income tax return forms. Should you have specific queries related to your tax submission, we will provide you with information and advice, or refer you to an appropriately qualified specialist is at your own discretion and the costs so incurred are for your own account.
