2 World Bank Programme Framework: Scaling Up Partnership Investments for Sustainable Development of the Large Marine Ecosystems of East Asia and their Coasts Goals of Programme: 1. Promote sustainable development of large marine and coastal ecosystems of the East Asia and Pacific Region and improve livelihoods of local populations by reducing pollution and promoting sustainable marine fisheries, ICM and ecosystem based management. 2. Enhance the delivery of on-the-ground impacts and supporting capacity-building through targeted knowledge management activities and through portfolio learning and targeted research.

7 APPLICATION OF KM TO SCALE UP PARTNERSHIP INVESTMENTS IN SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF THE LMEs OF EAST ASIA AND THEIR COASTS Objective: To enhance the capacity and performance of investments in sustainable development of LMEs and coasts in the East Asian Seas Region through knowledge management and experience sharing, portfolio learning and networking

9 KM PROJECT RATIONALE Provide added value to the investment and targeted learning projects Focus on the development and strengthening of KM products and services that enhance the capacity and performance of investments in scaling up good practices and partnerships Collaborate as a extension service of the investment and targeted learning projects
10 KM PROJECT CHALLENGES Project development: identifying and engaging key stakeholders in the KM design and development process Project implementation: synchronizing with projects that are at different stages of development and implementation Project delivery: demonstrating that the developed KM system, products and services enhance the capacity and performance of investments in sustainable development of LMEs and coasts
