1 Jefferson College Foundation/Community Scholarships Ameren UE Scholarship has no restrictions. B. Clark Berry, Ruth & Marion Berry Endowment Fund Recipients must reside within Jefferson County and rank in the upper one-third of their graduating class or possess a GED with a minimum score of 2800 or a 75 on the HiSet. Applicants must show need of financial assistance. Renewal: 1 New/1 Renewable each academic year Big River VFW #5331 Ladies Auxiliary Recipient must be a graduating senior, past graduate, student or GED/HiSet Recipient whose primary attendance center is Grandview, Hillsboro, or Northwest High Schools. Recipient should be a Second tier student who does not qualify for scholarships based on financial need or scholastic superiority. Boyet Single Family Endowment Recipient must be a single parent. Bryan Gilbert Memorial Scholarship Recipient must be studying music, art, drafting, engineering, or teaching. with a 3.0 GPA CCAH Endowment for the Fine Arts Scholarship made available from the Community Council for the Arts and Humanities of DeSoto. Recipient must be a graduate of DeSoto, Grandview, or Hillsboro High Schools who excels in the areas of art, dance, drama, music or creative writing. Carpenters District Council of St. Louis Recipient must be enrolled in the building trades program and plan to enter the carpentry field upon graduation. Clifton Morgan Memorial Scholarship - Zion United Methodist Church Recipient must be a graduate from Crystal City, DeSoto, Festus, Herculaneum, Hillsboro, or Twin City Christian Academy or hold a GED. Applicants must be in the upper half of their graduating class or have a minimum score of 2800 on their GED or 75 on the HiSet. Applicant must demonstrate financial need. Commerce Bank Scholarship funded by the Commerce Bank of Festus. Recipient must be a graduate of Festus, Crystal City, Herculaneum, or St. Pius; St. Pius graduates must reside in either the Festus, Crystal City, or Dunklin Districts. Applicants must rank in upper 25% of their graduating class. Community Health Center of Jefferson County Endowment Student must be enrolled in a health related program.
2 Dennis J. Kehm Sr. Scholarship Recipient must be a high school graduate enrolled full time in Education or Public Service fields of study. Students must have a 2.5 minimum GPA. based on full time enrollment with a 2.5 GPA DeSoto Rotary Club Scholarship available through a fund established by the DeSoto Rotary Club. Recipient must be a graduate of DeSoto or St. Pius X High School and reside in the Valle Township. Donald C. Herrell Baseball Scholarship Recipient must be a member of the Jefferson College Viking Baseball Team. Applicant must be a high school graduate and resident of Jefferson County. if full time student Earl R. Blackwell Endowed Scholarship Restricted to High School students, enrolling full time, must demonstrate financial need, and must have a minimum of 3.0 GPA. Eleanor Burlage Endowment Scholarship made available by Eleanor Burlage, a retired Crystal City school teacher. Recipient must show continued academic progress toward a degree and demonstrated financial need. Elizabeth Hoyt Clark Memorial Honors Scholarship Recipients must be enrolled in the Honors Program of Jefferson College. Application: Students who are interested should speak with the Honors Program Coordinator for application. Fenwick Memorial Recipient must be planning to major in engineering. Applicants must rank in the top 50% of their graduating class and be a Jefferson County resident. Preference is given to a Crystal City High School senior majoring in electrical engineering. Festus-Crystal City Rotary Club Scholarship available from a fund established by the Festus-Crystal City Rotary Club. Recipient must be a graduate of Crystal City, Festus, Herculaneum or St. Pius X high schools; St. Pius X graduates must reside in the Festus, Crystal City, or Dunklin school districts. Applicants should have a superior scholastic record. Francis Duke Cortor Jr. Memorial Scholarship Preference will be given to a second year student planning to transfer to Missouri Baptist College. Additionally, preference is given to a student who is a veteran or a descendent of a veteran. Recipient must demonstrate financial need. Harshaw Memorial Recipient must show academic strength. Preference will be given to a graduating senior from DeSoto High School. If all criteria are equal, financial need will be considered.
3 Hazmat Responders & Workers Scholarship Recipients must be Jefferson County high school graduates who are enrolled full time. Must be majoring in Fire Science, Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice, EMT, or Paramedic degrees. Hillsboro Community Civic Club Scholarship available from a fund established by the Hillsboro Community Civic Club. Recipients must be a graduate of a Jefferson Count high school who has a superior scholastic record. Application: Contact the Hillsboro Civic Club Hillsboro Rotary Club Recipient must be a high school graduate residing within the Hillsboro School District. Applicants should have a superior scholastic record. Homeless Youth Initiative Restricted to Jefferson County Homeless Youth. Certificate programs preferred; other programs must be approved by Homeless Youth scholarship committee. Renewal: Based on Homeless Youth Committee decision and must have a 2.5 GPA Howard C. Litton Scholarship Preference will be given to a full time student who is a resident of Jefferson County, aspiring to major in History. Applicants must have demonstrated financial need. Hugh C. Roberts Jr. Endowment Scholarship Recipient must be transferring to Washington University after Jefferson College and must have a minimum of a 3.5 GPA. Recommendation letter from one of the student s instructors is required. Jack Cronin Memorial Baseball Scholarship Recipient must be a baseball player from the American Legion Post 283 baseball team. Recipient must be on the Vikings Baseball Team., but must apply for renewal Application: Selected by the Jefferson College Scholarship Committee and Viking Baseball Coach James Jay Sybert Memorial Scholarship Recipient is chosen by a Jefferson College Automotive Technology Instructor and may not be awarded every year. Funds can be used towards the purchase of class supplies and is not restricted to tuition only. Students must be enrolled full time and majoring in the Automotive Program. Students must demonstrate financial need. Jane Houser Endowment Scholarship Eligible to non-traditional students from Jefferson County who have earned a diploma or GED/HiSet. Students must be enrolled full time or part time and must demonstrate financial need. Can be used for tuition, books, or fees. with a 2.5 GPA Jefferson County Bar Association Scholarship Scholarship has no restrictions.
4 Jefferson County Democratic Club Recipient must be a Jefferson County student. Student must have earned a GED/Diploma, must be enrolled full time, and must demonstrate financial need. Jefferson County Rotary Club Rotary Clubs of Arnold, DeSoto, Festus-Crystal City, High Ridge, and Hillsboro have established a scholarship for one resident of Jefferson County who plans to attend Jefferson College. The recipient must be a non-traditional student, single parent, returning student, who is seeking re-entry training for the workforce. Application: Jefferson College Scholarship Committee will recommend two applicants and Jefferson County Rotary Club will select the final recipient Jefferson County Sheriff s Department Scholarship This scholarship is provided by the Jefferson County Sheriff s Department to students studying in the field of Criminal Justice. One recipient shall be pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice and the other shall by a student in the Law Enforcement Academy. Must be a resident of Jefferson County, have financial need and be making satisfactory academic progress. Jefferson County Veterans Memorial Committee Scholarship Recipient must be a Jefferson County high school graduating senior who is a child or grandchild of a Jefferson County veteran. Recipient must enroll on a full time basis (at least 12 credit hours per semester) at Jefferson College beginning with the fall semester of the year of graduation. Application: Complete the Jefferson County Veterans Memorial Scholarship Application and submit it no later than April 1 of the year of high school graduation to: Jefferson County Veterans Memorial Committee, Attn: Student Financial Services Office, Jefferson College, 1000 Viking Drive, Hillsboro, MO Jimmy McCoy Scholarship Restricted to high school graduate demonstrating financial need from the Festus, Crystal City, Herculaneum, or St. Pius school districts. Recipient must be a music major, enrolled full time, and must have a 2.5 GPA or higher. with a 2.5 GPA and full time enrollment Joseph Becker First preference given to Eagle Bank & Trust Co. employee dependents who are high school graduates having graduated with a 2.5 GPA or higher. Open to others if not awarded to an Eagle Bank employee s family. Must enroll full or part time. with a 2.5 GPA Application: Applications are available in the Student Financial Services Office, but the completed forms must be sent directly to Eagle Bank for review Joseph C. Kamp Memorial Scholarship Restricted to DeSoto School District Leonard C. White Endowment Memorial Scholarship available annually from an endowment fund established through the estate of Leonard C. White. Recipient must be a graduating senior or past graduate of a Jefferson County high school. Applicants must have superior scholastic record and demonstrate financial need. Lucas and Mary Theresia Duffner Scholarship Scholarship fund established by the will and estate of the late Mary Theresia Duffner to provide career-technical scholarships for Jefferson College students. Recipient must be a graduate or past graduate of a Jefferson County high school and rank in the upper half of their graduating class. Applicants must have demonstrated financial need.
5 MCCA Scholarship Applicant must be a returning student who has earned at least 30 credit hours and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Applicant must also demonstrate financial need. M.C. Matthes Jr. Memorial Scholarship Endowment Scholarship established by Judge and Mrs. M.C. Matthes in memory of their son, M.C. Matthes, Jr. Recipient must be a graduate of Hillsboro High School who ranks in the upper 25% of their graduating class and has demonstrated financial need. Mary Daniels Memorial Scholarship Scholarship is available to female athletes that graduated from a Jefferson County School district. Students must be enrolled full time and meet NJCAA eligibility requirements. Renewal: Non-renewable Application: Recipient is chosen by the Jefferson College Athletic Director Mercy Hospital Jefferson Health Occupations Minority Scholarship Available to minority Jefferson County high school graduates enrolling full time and pursuing a degree in any health occupation career offered at Jefferson College. Application: Recipients are selected by the Mercy Hospital Jefferson Foundation Missouri Natural Gas - Andrew Habsieger Memorial Recipient must be a graduating senior from Crystal City, DeSoto, Festus, Fox, Grandview, Herculaneum, Hillsboro, Jefferson, Northwest, St. Pius X, Valle, Ste. Genevieve, or Windsor. Applicants must be in the top 25% of their graduating class. Applicants must show good sportsmanship, not necessarily limited to the athletic field. Application: Available through high school guidance office Peggy Alexander Endowment Scholarship Recipient must be a Jefferson College student. Richard Bell (Starlight Chorus) Music Scholarship Recipient must be a high school graduate majoring in vocal music who has a 3.0 GPA. Student Financial Services will forward the names of 3 qualified candidates to the Jefferson College Music Department who will then select the recipient. with a 3.0 GPA Skyler McDonald Memorial Scholarship Recipients must be a Jefferson County resident. Spirit of St. Louis Barbershop Chorus Scholarship Restricted to high school graduates with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA. Recipient must be a male vocal music major who is selected by the Jefferson College Music Department. Application: Music Department will notify the scholarship committee of the recipient St. Anthony's Charitable Foundation Restricted to students in the Allied Health Programs. Students must demonstrate financial need. Recipients are selected by St. Anthony's Charitable Foundation Board of Directors. Application: Separate Application located in Career and Technical Education main office.
6 Twin City Area Optimist Club Scholarship Restricted to Jefferson County residents with a minimum 2.0 GPA. Applicants must demonstrate financial need. Walmart Stores of Jefferson County Scholarship Recipient must be a Jefferson County resident, must be seeking a degree in business management or business administration and the student must have a 2.5 GPA. with a 2.5 GPA West Family Book Scholarship One recipient must be a Jefferson College student, who is a resident of Jefferson County and a parent who is responsible for a minor child, either through custody or child support. Recipient must demonstrate financial need. Second recipient must be a Jefferson County resident, but can be any student, even those without financial need. with a 3.0 GPA William Overstreet Sr. Scholarship Recipient must be African American, full or part time students having earned a GED/Diploma from Jefferson County. Students must show financial need, demonstrate community service, and have a 3.0 GPA. Student must be a DeSoto, Crystal City, Herculaneum, or Festus graduate. Dr. William R. Todd Memorial Scholarship Recipient must be a permanent resident of Jefferson County who is graduating from high school, and has demonstrated academic promise. Applicants should be active in church and community activities, and should plan to study in the art and sciences.
