Turn all of the pieces over so you cannot read the words put all of the statements on the left and all of the author s purposes on the right 3. Players will take turns picking up one statement and one author s purpose, reading the statement and determining if it is a match to the author s purpose that was picked up. 4. If it is a match, keep the cards. If it is not a match, put both cards back. 5. Players will continue taking turns until all of the matches have been made 6. The player with the most matches wins!
