1 Information Sheet for Visa Applicants Myanmar Embassy Bangkok The Embassy of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Bangkok is pleased to announce new visa services for applicants who wish to enter Myanmar for various purposes. Types of Visa The Embassy of Myanmar in Bangkok will facilitate following types of visa for all applicants with effect from 19 January 2016; No Types of Visa Duration of Stay Stay Extension Fees 1 Gratis Diplomatic/ - Available Gratis Official Courtesy Visa 2 Official Visa 28 Days Available 800 Baht 3 Tourist Visa 28 Days Not Extendable 800 Baht 4 Business Visa 70 Days Available 1440 Baht 5 Multiple Entry Business Visa (6 Months) 70 Days Available 7200 Baht 6 Multiple Entry Business Visa (1 Year) 70 Days Available Baht 7 Employment Visa 70 Days Available 1440 Baht 8 Social Visa 28 Days Available 1440 Baht 9 Religious Visa 70 Days Available 1440 Baht 10 Education Visa 70 Days Available 1440 Baht 11 Journalist Visa 28 Days Not Extendable 1440 Baht 12 Crew Visa 28 Days Available 1440 Baht 13 Workshop/Seminar Available 1440 Baht 28 Days /Meeting/Research Visa (for Research Purpose Only) 14 Transit Visa 24 Hours Not Available 720 Baht Processing Time The Visa Section is opened between 9.00 am and 4:30 pm from Monday to Friday and closed on Weekends and Public Holidays. The visa processing times are as follow; Application - 09:00 hrs. to 12:00 hrs. Collection - 15:30 hrs. to 16:30 hrs. The Embassy only accepts applications from to hrs. The visa will be issued within 3 working days if all required documents can be presented. In addition, the Embassy can provide One Day and Two Days express services for those who have urgent cases. The Embassy will charge express fees for these services. Application Procedure The applicants are advised to take Queue Number at the Entrance before they enter the waiting area of Visa Section. The Q machine is located right outside the waiting room entrance.
2 2 The Visa Section has 3 Counters providing services simultaneously. The applicants should proceed to the counter and submit their duly-filled applications and requested documents when their Q Numbers are announced. Visa Fee The processing fee should be paid upfront at the time of submission. It is nonrefundable regardless of the outcome of the application or if the application is withdrawn after submission. The Embassy accepts only Thai Baht for all types of visa services. The payment should be made in cash only, and the Embassy does not accept Credit Cards or Cheque. Please refer to the chart above for visa fees. 5 5 Entry into and Departure from Myanmar Thai Border Gates Under the agreement between the Government of Myanmar and the Government of the Kingdom of Thailand, the following border entrances / exits have been designated as international entrances / exits with effect from 28th August 2013, and those Myanmar and Thai citizens as well as Third country citizens holding valid passport with valid visa will be permitted to enter and depart from Myanmar; (1) Tachilek Mae Sai (2) Myawaddy Mesok (3) Htee Kee Phunaron (4) Kawthoung Ranong Those who enter/ depart from the aforesaid International entrance/ exits will be permitted to enter/depart from any International entrance / exits of Myanmar; Nay Pyi Taw International Airport, Yangon International Airport, Mandalay International Airport, Tachilek, Myawaddy, Htee Kee and Kawthoung. Regarding the permit of stay, extension of stay and the visa fees, the rules and regulation are the same as before depending on the type of visa for which application has been made to be able to enter Myanmar. Presently, visa on arrival cannot be issued at any of the 4 international entrance/exits mentioned. The Visitors are permitted to travel everywhere except the restricted areas as designated by the Ministry of Home Affair. (The list of restricted areas is available at Visa On-Arrival The Embassy wishes to inform that the On-Arrival Vasa can only be obtained at the Airport Immigration Section of International Airports of Myanmar. The application form for On-Arrival Visa can be requested at the airlines in Myanmar or downloaded at the website of the Ministry of Immigration and Population.
