9 Round 6: hdc around, join, chain 1 Round 7: hdc around, join, fasten off Finishing Instructions (for all sizes) To create braided snowman "scarf": Cut 6 15" pieces of yarn. Using your crochet hook, weave two pieces at a time through the bottom three single crochet stitches of the ear flap. Braid the 3 strands together. When desired length is achieved, tie a piece of yarn around the braid using a few knots and trim any excess. (Please keep the braids short enough that there s no risk of them wrapping around the child s neck and posing a hazard.) To add accent berries to snowman's hat (see image on next page): Using your crochet hook, thread a piece of scrap yarn through the hat, making sure there's a strand of hat yarn in between your scrap yarn. Use the strands of scrap yarn to tie several knots, one on top of another. Thread both pieces of scrap yarn back into the hat, creating a little knotted bobble on the outside of the hat. Thread the strands back to the top of the hat brim, leaving a strand of hat yarn in between. Repeat the knotting process until you have as many berries as you want. Thread the strands to the underside of the hat, leaving a strand of hat yarn between the two scrap pieces. Tie a few knots to
10 fasten things off and trim the scrap yarn. To finish: Sew on the button eyes, carrot nose and grey snowman's hat using your tapestry needle. Plop your adorable snowman hat on the nearest baby and try not to "melt" from all the cuteness! You may make items to sell with this pattern.
