5 Quick-start Guide 5 Quick-Start Guide Performing a Transaction in Five Steps Prerequisites Smart phone or tablet with ios 7 and higher The Ingenico icmp or the Ingenico RP457c card reader Active Converge account with valid sign-in credentials Please note, if you do not have Converge Mobile login credentials, refer to your Welcome Kit for the training phone number to get started. Processing a Transaction Step 1 Download Converge Mobile on your mobile device. Step 2 Launch Converge Mobile and follow the Setup wizard, connecting your card reader during the process. Step 3 From the main screen, add items to your cart and press Checkout. Step 4 Select the desired payment type for the transaction. Step 5 For card transactions, follow the prompts on the icmp or on the mobile device (for the Ingenico RP457c) to complete the transaction.
6 Getting Started With Converge Mobile 6 Getting Started with Converge Mobile What is Converge Mobile? Converge Mobile 1.3 supports chip card (EMV) transactions via the Ingenico icmp PIN pad as well as the Ingenico RP457c card reader. Converge Mobile is a mobile Point of Sale (mpos) that connects your ios or Android mobile device to a card reader that accepts magstripe, contactless, and chip card payment options. The process to connect your device is quick and easy, and in only a few steps, you ll be ready to accept and process credit card payments through the Converge platform. What is Converge? Converge is an omni-channel payments platform that allows you to process payments in multiple environments, including in-store, mobile, back office mail/phone order, and e-commerce. You can access Converge using the web application at In Converge, you can view additional payment management tools and reporting tools.
7 7 Getting Started With Converge Mobile What can Converge Mobile do? Converge Mobile allows you to take payments wherever you are. With a simple mobile app available on most smartphones running ios and a supported card reader, you have the necessary tools to accept and process credit card payments backed by the security of the Converge platform. As of version 1.3, Converge Mobile supports credit card, debit card, and cash transactions. Credit and debit can be processed with chip card (EMV), magstripe, or contactless ( tap and pay via card or mobile wallet, such as ApplePay or AndroidPay). In Converge, you can select to manually enter a card with the icmp, or take cash or credit and debit cards.
8 Getting Started With Converge Mobile 8 What card readers does Converge Mobile support? Converge Mobile currently supports the Ingenico icmp card reader over Bluetooth connectivity and the Ingenico RP457c card reader using Bluetooth or audio jack. Receipts can be ed or printed using one of two supported Bluetooth printers - Star SM220i and Star SMT300i. Converge Mobile works on the Apple iphone, ipad, ipad Pro, ipad Air, ipad Mini, and ipod Touch devices that are running ios 7 and higher. Ingenico icmp Card reader Right-Hand Side Bottom View of Card reader The icmp has a touch keyboard for data entry, function menu button (1), decline (2), back (3), and confirmation (4) buttons. On the right side of the device, you ll see the charging port (A) for charging and connecting to a PC, as well as the power button (B). When performing a chip card transaction, the customer will insert the chip card into the bottom of the device, chip first. The customer will leave their card in the device until the transaction has been processed. When performing a transaction with a magnetic stripe card, the card is swiped at the top of the device. Contactless payments are tapped gently to the front of the device.
9 9 Connecting The Icmp Pin Pad With My Ios Mobile Device Connecting the icmp PIN pad with my ios mobile device When you launch Converge Mobile for the first time, select Set Up Mobile Card Payments and enter your Converge Mobile credentials to walk through the Setup wizard. Please note, if you wish to connect a card reader later, you can select Skip Card Reader Connection at the bottom of the screen. You must go to the Settings and select Card Reader Connection in order to add a device. Please consult How do I change my settings? on page 25 to see the options. To connect your icmp PIN pad with your ios mobile device, simply follow the instructions on the Setup wizard. 1. Select the icmp from the supported card reader type list. 2. Power on your icmp and charge it if necessary. 3. Select ios connection option for ios devices by tapping the F1 button.
10 Connecting The Icmp Pin Pad With My Ios Mobile Device Now, you need to go to your ios device s Bluetooth Settings. Make sure Bluetooth is enabled and you will see your icmp in the OTHER DEVICES list.

13 13 Ingenico Rp457c Card Reader Ingenico RP457c Card Reader The Ingenico RP457c card reader connects with your mobile device via audio jack or Bluetooth. It accepts magstripe cards, chip cards and NFC/contactless payments, including mobile wallets like Apple Pay.

16 Connecting The Rp457c With My Ios Mobile Device Via Bluetooth 16 Connecting the RP457c with my ios mobile device via Bluetooth First of all, make sure your RP457c card reader is successfully connected with your ios device via audio jack, and it s still plugged in (follow instructions on page 14 and 15 if you haven t done so). 1. Click on the green Connect via Bluetooth button on your ios screen to initiate Bluetooth pairing. 2. Go to the Settings application on your ios device and select Bluetooth settings. Select your RP457c card reader from the OTHER DEVICES list. 3. Confirm the Bluetooth pairing code once it prompts. Then go back to the Converge Mobile app.

If Bluetooth connection is established successfully, you will see the Connected Successfully screen as shown below and you can move on to the next step by clicking on the green Next button. If it fails, you can still finish the setup and try Bluetooth pairing again through the Settings menu.

Click on the Menu button on the top right corner of your Converge Mobile screen. 2. Select Card Reader Connection from the menu option. 3. Click on RP457c and follow the onscreen instructions to set up your ios device to communicate with your RP457c card reader.

The electronic signature is performed on your mobile device. After a card transaction has processed, you will give your mobile device to the customer to sign. The customer may also sign the printed receipt. Where do I get the Converge Mobile app? Converge Mobile is available at Apple App store: ios App Store - How do I launch Converge Mobile? From your mobile device s home screen, navigate to the Converge Mobile application, and select the app to launch it.

To disconnect mobile devices connected to your Ingenico icmp Card reader, press the F button four times quickly within two seconds. ( F-F-F-F ). If you forget your passcode, select Forgot Your Passcode and re-enter your Converge online credentials to reset the passcode. 23 23 Learning The Application Learning the Application When launching Converge Mobile for the first time, the setup wizard will help you connect your device. By the end of the process, you are ready to accept credit, debit, and cash payments on the go. How do I use Converge Mobile for the first time? 1. On the Converge Mobile Welcome screen, select Set Up Mobile Card Payments. 2. Enter your Converge Mobile Account ID, User ID, and PIN to log in. Be sure to read and accept the End-User Licensing Agreement (EULA) at the bottom. (Please see Troubleshooting and More Information on page 51 to learn how to get access to Converge.) 3. Select your card reader from the Select Your Card Reader Type screen. 24 Learning The Application Create your secure 5-digit app-unlock passcode that will be used to quickly access your Converge Mobile app. You will need to enter your passcode whenever Converge Mobile locks due to inactivity. 5. 26 Learning The Application 26 In Settings, you can customize the tax, gratuity, and discount options. These areas should be customized before starting transactions. 1. Tax - The Tax menu allows you to customize the tax percentage. You can also Enable or Disable tax in this menu. Please consult How do I specify tax? on page 24 for how to set your tax options. 2. Gratuity/Tip - In the Gratuity menu, you can set the quick button values and the tip increment in either dollars or percentage. You can also Enable or Disable gratuity in this menu. Please consult How Do I Specify Discount and Gratuity Options? on page 26 for how to set gratuity options. 3. Discount - The Discount menu allows you to set the discount increments in either dollars or percent. You may Disable or Enable discount values in this menu. If your credentials change, you can update them here. 5. Card Reader - The card reader section displays your connected card readers. You can also connect new card readers. Selecting that option will launch the connection walkthrough. 6. Printer - The Printer option allows you to enable receipt printing, connect your printer, and test the printer connection. 7. Business Profile - The Business Profile section shows the business name that will appear on receipts. You can change this name by logging into Converge Security - In the Security menu, you can change your passcode for the Converge Mobile application. 9. Additional Customization - In the Additional Customization menu, you can enable or disable sounds.

To add an item to your shopping cart, simply type in the price. You can add an item description. 2. Click on the Up or Down arrow on the left of the value to increase or decrease the quantity. 3. Click on the Add to Cart button. You can view the shopping cart by clicking on the Cart icon on the top right corner. 4. Pressing the Checkout button will initiate the checkout process and present you with the Sale Summary screen. You can return to your cart and edit items as desired by pressing the back button at top left corner.
28 Processing Transactions With Converge Mobile 28 How do I specify tax? With Converge Mobile, you can change your sales tax percentage at any time. 1. Click on the Menu button. 2. Select Tax from the Settings. 3. Toggle the Tax On/Off option and specify a default tax percentage. Return to the menu, and your options will be saved. Every transaction will have the default tax percentage automatically applied.
29 29 Processing Transactions With Converge Mobile In Converge Mobile version 1.3, you can also edit tax for each individual transaction without changing the default tax percentage. 1. Click the Edit Tax icon on the Sales Summary page. 2. During any transaction, enter the tax as desired. 3. Click on the Apply Tax to Current Sale button and you will see the change on Sale Summary screen.
30 Processing Transactions With Converge Mobile 30 How do I specify discount? Your business may allow discounts and gratuities. These options are set up within Settings as well. You will be able to apply a discount to each transaction manually, which will auto-calculate and deduct the specified percentage from the total. 1. Click on the Menu button and select Discount. 2. Enable discount and specify percentage and currency increment values. 3. Click the Discount label on the Sale Summary page.

After clicking on the Checkout button, you are presented with three options: Manual Card Entry, Cash, or Credit Debit. Please note, the Manual Card Entry option is only available on the icmp PIN pad. Once you select Credit Debit, follow the instructions on the device (with the icmp) or mobile app (with the RP457c) to complete the transaction. If the customer has an EMV chip card, insert the card into the reader. Otherwise, swipe the card.
35 35 Processing Transactions With Converge Mobile How do I process chip card transactions? A word on chip card processing (EMV) Unlike swiped card transactions, chip card transactions require multiple communication requests (or exchanges ) with the payment gateway. Since the back and forth communication occurs over the wire (Internet, broadband, mobile, wireless, phone), any slowness in Internet speeds will result in slowing down the transaction. As this is the basic nature of a chip card transaction, the experience will be similar across all payment processors.
36 Performing Transactions With The Icmp Pin Pad 36 Performing Transactions with the icmp PIN Pad For a card transaction, the icmp PIN pad asks you to swipe, insert, or tap your credit or debit card. How do I process chip card transactions (EMV)? 1. Insert the chip card into the bottom of the icmp PIN pad when it prompts to enter card. Please note, the customer must leave the card in the card reader throughout the transaction. 2. The customer will be asked to confirm the transaction amount. 3. Once confirmed, the app will begin processing while the device sends a request to authorize the card.

Use the yellow back button on the icmp PIN pad to delete any mistyped numbers.

Select whether or not the card is present, and Converge Mobile will wait for the card number to be entered on the icmp. Note that interchange rates for manual card entry may differ from magstripe or chip card transactions.

54 Canceling A Transaction 54 Canceling a Transaction While processing a transaction, you can cancel the process by pressing the red delete button on the icmp PIN pad.
55 55 Refunding A Transaction Refunding a Transaction 1. To refund a past transaction in Converge Mobile, click on the Menu icon and select Transactions. 2. From the transaction history list, select the transaction you want to refund. You will see a summary of the transaction. 3. Click on the Refund button at the bottom. You can refund a transaction fully or partially.
56 Refunding A Transaction Enter the amount to refund and select Refund. Finally, click on the green Refund button to return the amount to the cardholder. For debit cards, you will need to re-swipe or reinsert the card to return the money. 5. You will get a refund summary after the processing is complete.
57 57 Voiding A Transaction Voiding a Transaction If you wish to cancel a credit card transaction that hasn t yet settled, you will void the transaction. 1. To void a transaction, click on the Menu button, and then select Transactions. 2. Select the desired transaction.
58 Voiding A Transaction In the transaction details menu, select Void. 4. Then, confirm the cancellation by clicking on the Void button on the next screen as well. 5. Converge Mobile will inform you it is processing. 6. When it is complete, you will see a summary of the void. The receipt can then be ed to the customer or printed with our suppported Bluetooth printer.
59 59 Troubleshooting Troubleshooting How do I disconnect a card reader from my mobile device? If you replace your mobile device, you will need to disconnect the old mobile device from your card reader. To disconnect all paired devices from the icmp card reader, press F button rapidly four times ( F-F-F-F ). The device will reboot and display BT Pairing Required.
60 Troubleshooting 60 On the mobile device, navigate to the Bluetooth settings. Then, select the card reader. Select Forget Device to disconnect the card reader.
61 61 Troubleshooting Where do I get Converge Mobile credentials? Converge Mobile uses your Converge Mobile credentials. To access these credentials, please contact the Training phone number found in your Welcome Kit. How do I set the icmp card reader back to Bluetooth mode? The icmp will likely come to you set to Bluetooth pairing mode. If you used the device with Converge and set it to USB, you will need to return to Bluetooth mode to be able to use it with a mobile device again.
62 Troubleshooting 62 To set the icmp to Bluetooth mode, restart the card reader by powering it off then back on (hold the hash or pound key + the Yellow Back button until it powers off). When the booting screen (A) appears, press followed by the Green Confirm button (B). This must be done in the 2 minute time frame before the card reader finishes booting and this screen goes away. If performed successfully, you should see a request to press F to get to the Menu (C). If you do not see this menu, reboot the device by holding the power button and repeat the previous steps.
63 63 Troubleshooting Using the F2 and F3 buttons as arrows, highlight Option 3 - TDA and press the Green Confirmation button(d). On the TDA menu, highlight Option 0 - Configuration and press the Green Confirmation button (E). On the Configuration Menu, select Option 0 - Communication (F). On the Communication menu, select Option 0 - Select Comm. Type (G).
64 Troubleshooting 64 On the Comm. Selection screen (H), select Bluetooth then press the Green Confirmation button (I). Press the Yellow Back button four times, going through each of the previous menus (J). After you have exited all the menus you will see a prompt to save and reboot (K). Once rebooted, you will select ios for Apple devices or Standard for Android devices (L). Please see Connecting the icmp card reader with My Mobile Device on page 9.
65 65 Troubleshooting What if I select the wrong option when pairing an icmp card reader? If you select the wrong option, such as Standard when you were trying to pair an ios device (the ios option), you will need to reboot the device.
