Cassia) Higher Educa+on Strategy : The disrup+on coming by the MOOCs Universi2es have not changed much since students first gathered in Oxford and Bologna in the 11th century. Un2l recently a student needed to be in a lecture hall to hear the professor or around a table to debate with fellow students. Teaching has been constrained by technology and now disrup2ve innova2on is impac2ng industries like educa2on. Coursera, EdX and others are offering Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) that are a challenge for Universi2es. Innova2on is elimina2ng the old constraints, so what are the new higher educa2on emerging strategies? and- economics/ rise- online- instruckon- will- upend- economics- higher- educakon- massive This topic will be also debated during the course of Strategic Management and/or InternaKonal Business 2014/2015. Many famous companies have not survived to the disrup2ve innova2on (e.g. Kodak, a firm over 100 years old). In addi2on to firms that have failed, some have survived and are doing well.
