5 ITINERARY DEPARTURE DAY: FRIDAY, MARCH 18 DEPART DETROIT Make your way to the Detroit Metro Airport on your own to catch the flight to Dublin. DAY 1: SATURDAY, MARCH 19 ARRIVE DUBLIN MEALS: WELCOME RECEPTION HOTEL: WESTBURY HOTEL Welcome to Ireland. You are met in the arrival hall at the airport and transferred to the Westbury Hotel, where you can use the afternoon to relax or enjoy the sights and sounds of the Dublin St. Patrick s Day Festival. This evening enjoy a welcome reception at your hotel. DAY 2: SUNDAY, MARCH 20 DUBLIN MEALS: FULL BREAKFAST HOTEL: WESTBURY HOTEL This morning you are met by your tour director and driver at your hotel. Enjoy a walking tour of Dublin, where you will learn about the city s history and a few of its secrets. Visit Trinity College to see the Book of Kells, a jewel from the Golden Age of Irish Medieval Art. Enjoy a guided tour of the National Gallery that holds some 15,000 works dating from the 13th to 20th century, and featuring the world s most comprehensive collection of Irish art. DAY 3: MONDAY, MARCH 21 CO. WICKLOW & KILKENNY MEALS: FULL BREAKFAST HOTEL: LYRATH ESTATE Leaving the Irish capital, travel through the beautiful Wicklow Mountains and visit St. Kevin s Monastary at Glendalough. Later, enjoy a walking tour of Kilkenny (a wellpreserved medieval city and former capital of Ireland), including Kilkenny Castle. Visit the Butler Gallery, a contemporary art gallery which hosts exhibitions by emerging and established artists, and discover music overflowing in the streets and venues of this beautiful city. DAY 4: TUESDAY, MARCH 22 WATERFORD MEALS: FULL BREAKFAST HOTEL: FAITHLEGG HOUSE Spend the morning in Ireland s oldest city, Waterford, touring the Waterford Crystal Factory and exploring the city s Viking Triangle. Spend the afternoon visiting beautiful Co. Waterford, with its many secret coves and thatched villages, stopping along the way in the fishing village of Dunmore East. DAY 5 : WEDNESDAY, MARCH 23 LISMORE, CO. WATERFORD & CORK MEALS: FULL BREAKFAST HOTEL: HAYFIELD MANOR Set off for Co. Cork this morning. On the way, stop in Lismore for a tour of Lismore Castle, private home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire and their family. Visit contemporary art exhibitions on display at St. Carthage s Hall and Lismore Castle Arts before attending an exclusive lunch hosted in the Pugin-designed private banqueting hall of the castle. A tour of the private home, with its splendid historical and contemporary art collection, will follow lunch. Later, enjoy the evening in Cork, a city known for its hospitality, cuisine, and cultural flair. DAY 6: THURSDAY, MARCH 24 CORK MEALS: FULL BREAKFAST HOTEL: HAYFIELD MANOR Spend the morning at leisure exploring Cork city before attending the VIP preview and opening reception of 2116: Irish Contemporary Art at the Glucksman Gallery, University College Cork. DAY 7: FRIDAY, MARCH 25 DUBLIN MEALS: FULL BREAKFAST & DINNER HOTEL: O CALLAGHAN DAVENPORT HOTEL Visit Blarney Castle and gardens today and take the opportunity to kiss the Blarney Stone. Next, travel back toward the Irish capital, first visiting the Rock of Cashel along the way. Take the late afternoon at leisure to enjoy the Davenport Hotel. 9 TERMS & CONDITIONS Travel / Cancellation Insurance We strongly recommend that you purchase travel insurance that covers trip cancellation/ interruption, and or baggage loss or damage, emergency evacuation, and accidents incurred while traveling. Refund Policy A deposit of $500 per person is due at the time of registration. Registration closes and final payment is due December 21, Deposits are refundable until this date, less a $300 per person cancellation fee. After December 21, all payments become non-refundable. Indemnities The Broad MSU and Michigan State University, their respective employees, officers, agents, servants and representatives ( Michigan State ) are acting only as agents for the tour participants with respect to travel services and shall not be responsible or liable for changes of flight times, fare changes, dishonor of airline, hotel or other reservations, damage, injury (including death), loss of baggage, accidents, delays, inconveniences, cessation of operations, airline or tour operator bankruptcies or insolvencies, acts of God, acts or omissions of any person or entity engaged in conveying participants or carrying out any other arrangements in connection with the tour, or any other event or occurrence beyond Michigan State s control. Further, Michigan State shall not be responsible or liable for losses or additional expenses incurred by any participant due to sickness, disease, weather, strike, civil unrest, acts of terrorism, quarantine, acts of God or any other cause or occurrence beyond its control.
