3 Welcome and Announcements SERVICE FOR THE LORD S DAY Sunday, January 25, 2015 Gathering Songs #2163 He Who Began a Good Work in You #2270 He Has Made Me Glad #333 Seek Ye First Call to Confession During this interim period there have been times when hurts and pain occurred. As this time draws to a close we offer our regrets, past hurts, and places waiting to be healed to God. Each of our relationships contains a share of both love and sorrows, and so we come to this time of confession remembering it is Jesus who teaches us the power of forgiveness. Prayer of Confession (unison) Most holy and loving God, you see us as we are, and know our inner most thoughts, feelings and memories. We confess we are in constant need of your gracious care. We have not always loved you with our whole hearts, nor have we acted as you want us to in our relationships with one another. As we lift up to you our memories of our life together during this interim time, we ask for forgiveness of mistakes we have made in our assumptions, actions and fears. We ask forgiveness for ways, intended and unintended, that we may have hurt one another. Shine your light of forgiveness on us that we might see ourselves as fragile and precious people whom you love. Set us free from a past we cannot change; open us to a future in which we can be changed. We ask for help, trusting in your mercy and guidance. (A Time for Silent Confession and Conversation with God, as we remember the ways and places we need God s grace and mercy ) Assurance of God s Forgiveness Leader: In light of God s amazing grace and forgiveness poured out for us, we give thanks that God, through Jesus Christ, is reconciling all of creation to himself. Pastor: I thank you, the members and friends of Pilgrim Church, for the love and support you have given me, and for the trust you have placed in me as your pastor. I am blessed by your call to serve as a shepherd among you. On this day our relationship comes to a close. I return to you the elements that are unique to our life together. I return the directory of members both printed and in pictures. I return the keys to every part of your building, and I return to you your annual report, highlighting our ministry together. All these things are signs of what it means to serve in this place. They belong to you and to the one you have called to next serve among you. People: We receive these elements as signs of what it means to serve in this place. Thank you for being a good steward of our life together, for loving and serving among us.

Leader: Do you offer your encouragement for her ministry in the next place to which God will call her? People: We do, by God s grace. 7 A Farewell to Pastor Roberta Today, January 25, following worship, there will be a time of farewell, as she concludes her service as our Interim Pastor. We have had some wonderful years with Roberta and would like to honor her time with us in some way. We will be collecting money for a monetary gift to be presented to Robert on January 25 th.
