Total transportation fuel consumed in Ontario in 2009 was equivalent to 15.3 billion m 3 of natural gas (539 bcf) For adoption rate projections, let s assume that beginning in 2012, 5% of the new MDV and HDV trucks purchased annually are natural gas fuelled Further, the adoption rate increases by an additional 5% every two years By 2020, approximately 5.5% of the MDV and HDV vehicles are running on natural gas with annual gas demand of 624 million m 3
