START DATE: June 2013 ESTIMATED COMPLETION DATE: June 2017 BID AMOUNT: $27,373,449 DESCRIPTION: Replace the I-77 bridge deck and parapets over the Cuyahoga River, Canal Road, SR 17 and the Ohio Canal in the cities of Independence and village of Cuyahoga Heights. IMPACT: Two lanes of I-77 north and southbound will be maintained. During summer construction the I-77 southbound ramp to I-480 westbound and the I-480 eastbound ramp to I-77 northbound will be closed. Visit for more information. START DATE: March 2011 BID AMOUNT: $287,400,000 DESCRIPTION: The new George V. Voinovich Bridge - the first of two- is now open to two-way traffic. Bridge painting, lighting and minor operations remain. IMPACT: The new westbound bridge will temporarily carry traffic in both directions- two lanes each direction as well as dedicated access to I-90 west from both East 9 th Street and Ontario Streets- during construction of the second new bridge. Visit for more information. Map #: 12 Interstate 90 Eastbound Bridge, Cuyahoga County* PROJECT I.D.: LOCATION: Interstate 90 over the Cuyahoga River Valley in the city of Cleveland. START DATE: November 2013 ESTIMATED COMPLETION DATE: June 2017 BID AMOUNT: $243,586,001 DESCRIPTION: Demolition of the current Innerbelt Bridge and construction of the new I-90 eastbound bridge over the Cuyahoga River Valley that will eventually carry five lanes of eastbound traffic. The eastbound bridge is expected to be open to traffic during the fall of IMPACT: The new westbound bridge will temporarily carry traffic in both directions- two lanes each direction as well as dedicated access to I-90 west from both East 9 th Street and Ontario Streets- during construction of the second new bridge. During that time, the West 14 th Street ramp to I-90 eastbound and the I-90 eastbound exit ramps to Broadway Avenue and Ontario Street will be closed. One additional lane of traffic will be added from I-490 eastbound to I-77 northbound to carry the influx of inbound traffic. BID AMOUNT: $1,778,000 DESCRIPTION: Add capacity on the I-480 east and westbound exit ramps at Tiedeman Road in the city of Brooklyn. IMPACT: Traffic will be maintained during peak travel times.
