Collaborative Leadership Certificate Program Collaborative Leaders: Lead innovation Attract and retain top talent Create cohesive cultures Facilitate effective collaboration Navigate change and ambiguity Inspire greatness
What is Collaborative Leadership? Collaborative Leadership is a systems approach to individual, team and organizational transformation. Collaborative Leadership develops meaningful and productive connections to create leaders, teams and organizations that move forward to meet the complexities of 21 st Century Leadership. Focusing on experiential development of skills and competencies, we engage ideas, drive and actions to create more whole human beings to thrive in increasingly complex leadership challenges. We create conditions for meaningful conversations and offer precise feedback that is game changing for individual, team, and organizational development. Coaching, facilitation and assessments help leaders develop the capacity and consciousness to achieve greater success through Collaborative Leadership. By integrating multi-disciplinary research into our work, implementation increases well-being in the whole person and the whole system.
Our Approach Leadership Development is a process, not an event. There is no single event, workshop or weekend that will make less effective leaders more effective. Rather, leadership development is a focused process over time to create lasting leadership behavior that results in culture change. Our approach is about creating lasting impact and change in leadership and your culture. Our approach creates more collaboration and more effective leadership to support changing your culture from great to greater. Leadership is about creating individual and collective outcomes that matter to your leaders and your organization. Collaborative and effective leadership is about accomplishing more while expending less energy, using fewer resources (human and other resources) and finding creative and innovative approaches. This requires a capacity of leadership based on effective competencies.
An Unprecedented Time of Ambiguity, Complexity and Pace of Change. The 21 st Century is an unprecedented time of increased ambiguity, complexity and rate of change. The leadership imperative in this time is Collaborative Leadership. The ideal of the solo heroic leader is becoming a relic of the past. Responding to the 21 st Century level of complexity requires the coordinated efforts of highly cohesive and effective teams. Collaboration in business today is a survival trait not a buzzword. Forbes writer Joshua-Michéle Ross Collaborative Leadership is connection-based, conscious leadership that builds the capacity of leaders to lead and thrive in ambiguity, complexity and increasing pace of change. Collaborative Leadership is built on a platform of self-awareness. And builds strong relationships that drive productive connection.
Structure Determines Performance Collaborative Leadership is a result of the capacity of leaders. Capacity of leaders is determined by the structure of their individual operating system built on a platform of self-awareness. Mastering leadership comes with Mastery of Self. Our approach to leadership begins with awareness of Self both in individuals and teams. Underlying Beliefs and Assumptions Drive Behavior Our assumptions about ourselves, others and about how the world works make up powerful structures in our lives, one that can help us or hold us back in creating the outcomes that matter most to us. Underlying beliefs and assumptions drive our behavior, often unconsciously and contrary to the outcomes we are trying to achieve By examining underlying beliefs and assumptions, as a team and as individuals, we are able to impact the underlying structure to make us more effective leaders.
Format Starting with Leaders Sessions are approximately 4-6 weeks apart. Each Session is a one and a half day off-site session with training, coaching, experiential and reflection elements. Each session is customized to the group and what is needed for collaborative leadership development. In addition, each leader will receive up to 12 individual executive coaching sessions during the course of the program to forward and support them on their leadership journey. To request your customized proposal, contact: Pre-Session 1: Each leader in the program completes The Leadership Circle 360 Profile and individual 90 minute debrief with an executive/program guide (online survey completed individually approximately 3 weeks prior to initial group session). Session 1: Self-Awareness (and Deeper Orientation to Collaborative Leadership and The Leadership Circle Model). Making the case for self-awareness as the foundation of collaborative leadership. Understanding the Reactive and the Creative stances; how they show up and limit or support what we are up to. Terra Soma (503) or Clif Cannon (503) Session 2: Self Awareness, Purpose and Leadership Commitment; One Big Thing.
Session 3: Trust and Relating, how leaders achieve. Trust and Relating are key elements to Collaborative Leadership. In this session leaders work with and understand the components of trust, and what happens in high-trust and low-trust teams. They also work to improve relating competencies and develop the skills to use conflict effectively. Session 4: Courageous Authenticity. In this session leaders focus on their behaviors and ability to show up authentically and in integrity to accomplish big meaningful goals with others. Session 5: Achieving. Understanding how we achieve as leaders and teams and contrasting Reactive styles of accomplishing goals and Creative Leadership. Session 6: Systems Awareness. In this session leaders focus on revealing the system they work and lead in to better understand how their personal contribution leads to both effective and ineffective behaviors. Session 7: Integration. In this session leaders integrate the overall learning from the program and create a personal development plan and identify the One Big Thing they will work on over the coming twelve months as a leader including support and accountability groups. To request your customized proposal, contact: Terra Soma (503) or Clif Cannon (503) Session 8: Graduation. A graduation and launching point across a threshold of leadership the beginning of a journey, not the ending, for leaders to take their insights and new behaviors into the world to impact change.
Through full engagement in the process Leaders will: Gain enhanced self-awareness Clarify the outcomes that matter most Create the impact they truly want Create collaborative relationships Inspire creativity and innovation Empower leadership in others Your organization will: Tap and mobilize hidden potential Promote and model leadership values Foster high performance behaviors Motivate and empower individuals and teams Create powerful, positive change Impact culture for collaborative leadership To request your customized proposal, contact: Terra Soma (503) or Clif Cannon (503)
