5 IAQ Professional Team HAZCLEAN is the leader throughout the southeast in conducting professional indoor air quality investigations. The HAZCLEAN team of professionals who conduct the investigations and manage the overall remediation and restoration project consists of Certified Industrial Hygienists, a Certified Indoor Air Quality Professional, Certified Microbial Consultant, Environmental Scientists, Certified Hazardous Materials Managers, and Professional Engineers. Senior Staff: E. Corbin McGriff, Ph.D., P.E., has over 30 years experience in the environmental field and 22 years in indoor air quality management. He has been responsible for the project design, project management, and project certification for the majority of biological contamination exposure projects. He has been President and Director of Operations of two environmental consulting firms in Mississippi and has worked extensively throughout the environmental engineering field on a broad range of projects that include governmental, industry, and private enterprise with over twenty-seven years experience. Dr. McGriff has a Ph.D., in Environmental Health Engineering, and BS/MS in Civil Engineering. His professional experience includes Assistant Professor of Environmental Engineering at Mississippi State University, Research Associate of Environmental Engineering at the University of Kansas, Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering at The Citadel, Charleston, South Carolina, and Design Engineering Consultant at Piedmont Engineering & Architects, Charleston, South Carolina. Joseph M. Drapala is a Certified Industrial Hygienist, Certified Indoor Air Quality Professional (CIAQP) and a Certified Microbial Consultant (CMC). Mr. Drapala has over 16 years experience in Indoor Air Quality investigations, remediation and renovation. He has conducted investigations for governmental agencies, private residences and commercial businesses and has provided services to insurance companies in determining the validity of mold insurance claim. Additionally, Mr. Drapala provides expert witness and assistance for trial preparation to attorneys involving Indoor Air Quality litigation. He has written articles and education materials for IAQ education seminars with emphasis on molds and bio-aerosol exposures. Jack E. Daugherty, PE, CIH, has over 40 years of environmental and occupational safety and health management experience, ranging from military service to private consulting for a wide range of industries. In addition to his academic credentials, Mr. Daugherty is a licensed engineer in Mississippi and a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene. Mr. Daugherty is also a well-respected author of three books on environmental issues and a contributor of chapters and articles to several publications. His area of specialty is the scientific and engineering investigation of physical and chemical impacts on the environment, indoors or outdoors, with an emphasis on process safety. He has assessed such hazards as noise, vibration, ionizing and nonionizing radiation, airborne pollutants, waterborne pollutants and soil contaminants. He has also provided corrective action systems design and troubleshooting. Kelvin A. Thigpen, CHMM, is a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), a certified asbestos inspector, and a certified lead inspector. He is a degreed Environmental Scientist and has over 14 years direct experience in conducting environmental site assessments, asbestos & lead surveys, and handling hazardous and toxic materials. He has conducted over 200 Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments throughout the southeast for commercial, industrial and educational clients. As a certified hazardous materials manager (CHMM), Mr. Thigpen is qualified to recognize and sample for hazardous and toxic materials and to conduct contamination investigations and assessments.
