1 Team Clutch Youth baseball tournament rules. Modified version of Official PONY Baseball Rules and Official Major League Baseball Rules c. PONY Baseball Rules take precedence over Official Major League Baseball rules. Home Teams on Saturday to be determined by a coin flip If batting the entire lineup and an injury or ejection occurs it will also be an out but only the first time around the batting order. One pitch will be considered an inning pitched. Seeds are established via records, if there is a tie it goes to Head to Head, if still a tie it goes to RA (Runs Against max of 7 RA per game), if that is a tie it goes to RS (Runs Scored) Tie- Breaker System: Used only in Championship games. If the game (playoff or championship) is tied after all innings have been completed, the "California" tie breaker rule will go into effect. Each team puts the batter who is scheduled to bat last in that respective half of the inning on second base and plays out a full inning. This happens until the tie is broken and the game is complete. 2- TEAMS A. PINTO, MUSTANG, BRONCO, PONY teams shall consist of not more than 15, nor less than 10 players. 3- LEGAL PLAYERS A. Age cutoff determination is April 30 th of each year. a. PINTO: 7U, 8U (Coach Pitch) b. MUSTANG: 9U, 10U: may carry (1) 11 year old if skill level is of the mustang division BUT MAY NOT PITCH c. BRONCO: 11U, 12U: may carry (1) 13yr old if skill level is of the bronco division BUT MAY NOT PITCH. d. PONY: 13U: may carry (1) 14yr old if skill level is of pony division BUT MAY NOT PITCH. 6- PLAYING FIELDS A. PONY 13U 90 bases and 60 mound. B. BRONCO : 70 BASES 50 mound C. Mustang : 60 bases 48 mound D. PINTO: 60 bases COACH PITCH (machine optional) 7- EQUIPMENT A. A PONY stamped ball is not required.

2 B.MUSTANG, BRONCO, PONY: The HOME team will supply two (2) new or like new balls per game to the umpire at the pre- game meeting. C. PINTO: Coach- pitch bats may not be used in coach- pitch because regulation baseballs are used instead of safety balls. E. BRONCO, PONY: Metal cleated baseball shoes are allowed. 8- PLAYING RULES A. The official playing rules, with the exceptions and variations contained in this document, shall be Official Rules of Major League Baseball completely revised, as released through the office of the Commissioner of Baseball. B. At pre- game meeting, one coach will be designated to UIC. This coach is the only one that is allowed to approach umpires to either discuss a judgment call or protest a rules interpretation. All other coaches will be warned no more than 1 time per game to not approach an umpire for these matters before they are ejected. C. No pre- game infield warm up permitted on infield. D. Teams will occupy dugouts as displayed on scoreboard. Home team has choice if no scoreboard is available. F. Balks will be enforced after the first warning (EXCEPT PINTO) G.PINTO, MUSTANG, BRONCO, and PONY: The entire roster of players present for the game shall bat in rotation (no exceptions) H. No player participation rule. Playing time is at the sole discretion of the head coach. I.PINTO, MUSTANG, BRONCO, PONY: Free substitution on defense. J.MUSTANG, BRONCO, PONY: Once a player has been removed from the pitching position, they may not return to pitch in the same game. K. MUSTANG, BRONCO AND PONY: Runners may lead- off and steal bases, as in Official Major League Baseball Rules. L. MUSTANG, BRONCO, PONY: (optional) A COURTESY RUNNER maybe used for the catcher of record at any time. The courtesy runner will be the last recorded out. (Intent of this rule is to speed up play, not insert a pinch runner) M. PLAYER INJURY: one coach allowed on field... play continues. N. MALICIOUS CONTACT: Any player that, in the judgment of the umpire, makes contact with an opposing player with the intent to injure, Malicious Contact shall be ruled and the player shall be called

3 out and ejected from the game plus an additional game. Play is dead at time contact occurs and all runners return to base last legally touched. 10- PITCHING RULES A.PONY league pitching rules found in the white pages of the PONY Baseball, Inc. rulebook will be in force. Modified from original B. Specifically: modified a. MUSTANG pitchers shall not pitch in more than three (3) innings and BRONCO (4) innings, PONY age pitchers shall not pitch in more than six (7 ) innings on the same calendar day. b. When pitching in more than one (1) game on the same calendar day, pitchers may pitch any combination of innings in those games provided they do not exceed the above maximum number of innings in a calendar day. c. Pitchers shall have at least forty (40) hours rest after pitching on the same calendar day in: a. MUSTANG: Three (3) innings. b. BRONCO: Four (4) per game but no more than 7 innings per day c. PONY: SIX (6) innings d. Once the umpire- in- chief signals play to the pitcher, that pitcher shall become the pitcher of record and their innings begin at that point. e. Balks will be enforced after the first warning 11- LENGTH OF GAMES A. Time Limits: a. PINTO: Six (6) innings or 1 Hour 30 minutes. b. MUSTANG: Six (6) innings or 1 Hour 45 minutes c. BRONCO: Seven (7) innings or 1 HOUR 45 MINS. d. PONY: SEVEN (7) innings or 2 Hours E. Tie BREAKER- If the game is tied after all innings have been completed, the "California" tie breaker rule will go into effect. 4 RUN LIMITS- unlimited runs per inning. C. Mercy Rule: a. PINTO & MUSTANG: 12 after 3, 10 after 4, 8 after 5 b. BRONCO & PONY: 12 after 4, 10 after 5, 8 after 6 c. Championship game will be no time limit 14- MANAGERS, COACHES and SPECTATORS A. Managers and Coaches are not required to wear full uniform. B. It is recommended that Managers and Coaches wear appropriate attire that reflects their baseball. Sandals and flip flops as well as jewelry worn while performing coaching duties do not reflect appropriate baseball attire. C. Profanity is not condoned in any form. No warnings will be issued. If an umpire or league official hears a coach, manager or spectator use profanity, the offending person will be ejected immediately from the park for that game plus a game. Managers and Coaches bear the full responsibility of their spectators. A Manager or Coach could be ejected from the game for actions of their Spectators during a game. D. Under no circumstance shall a Manager, Coach or Spectator approach a game official outside the field of play. Any action from a Manager, Coach or Spectator towards a game official outside the field of play will be considered hostile and ejections as well as suspensions will be enforced with no warning! E. Any Manager, Coach or Spectator that makes contact with an umpire in a flagrant manner on the field or off the field will be suspended from PONY Elite as well as the park for no less than one (1) calendar year. More time may be added depending on the severity of the contact. In some extreme cases, PONY Elite reserves the right to the removal of a player from a team if it is in the best interest of the league. F. Managers and Coaches will be permitted to stand outside the dugout while performing their duties, as long as in the judgment of the umpire, they are not interfering with the game. In the judgment of the umpires on the field, they determine that the coaches are interfering with play, they have full authority to move any or all the coaches inside the dugout at any time.

If a live ball touches any coach (except base coach) or equipment (including buckets) outside the dugout the ball is ruled dead and all runners are allowed one (1) base past the last one legally touched. 15- PENALTIES A. A team failing to field at least eight (8) uniformed players within 15 minutes after scheduled starting time of a game, or at any time during the game, shall forfeit the game. B. A game may be started with 8 players with the 9 th spot in the batting order being an out. a. Players arriving late may enter the game at any point and shall be placed at the bottom of the batting order. b. No out will be taken for any player lost for injury or illness. c. An out will be taken for a player loss to ejection. C. If, for any reason, a team drops below eight (8) during the game, the team will forfeit to the opposing team. D. EJECTION RULE (Game + a game): Any player, coach or spectator that has been ejected from a game shall serve an additional game which will be the next scheduled game. a. Any Manager, Coach or Spectator that has been ejected must vacate to the parking lot immediately. b. Any player ejected will be allowed to remain in dugout unless parent or guardian removes them from the dugout in order to go leave the facility. Under no circumstance shall a player be expelled from the dugout unless they are with a parent or guardian. c. TEAM CLUTCH BASEBALL reserves the right to increase the penalty for habitual offenders of the ejection rule at their discretion.
