1 About Tucson Commercial Real Estate Women Mission Statement: CREW Tucson is dedicated to advancing the success and development of women in commercial real estate. CREW Tucson is a non-profit organization of commercial real estate professionals affiliated nationally through membership in CREW Network, providing opportunities for networking, education, leadership development and civic involvement. CREW Tucson promotes the highest standards of ethics and integrity and seeks to influence positively the direction of Tucson. CREW Tucson was formed in August 2002, and has grown in a few years to over seventy members. Our members are from varied disciplines, including sales and leasing, property management, finance, appraisal, project development, investment, law, and consulting, title and property insurance, engineering and environmental services. We have monthly meetings on the third Thursday of the month -- luncheon meetings with top speakers are interspersed with field trips and social events. We are a chapter of the CREW Network, which is the premier resource and referral network for the commercial real estate industry. The core purpose of CREW is to advance the success of women in commercial real estate. 2 Membership Qualifications An Active Member applicant must meet the following criteria: Demonstrate five consecutive years and current direct involvement in one of the following disciplines of commercial real estate: Accounting Appraisal Architecture Business Brokerage Business Development Economic Development Engineering Environmental Services Interior Design Finance/Lending Land Planning Law Market Research/Consulting Project Development/Construction Property & Asset Management Property Insurance Property Investment/Ownership Sales and Leasing Title Insurance/Escrow Services At the discretion of the Board of Directors, membership may be open to others in positions of influence in the commercial real estate industry. An Associate Member is one who has less than five consecutive years in the industry. Associate Members must participate in one committee or event annually. A Related Services Member is one whose industry supports commercial real estate or provides products and services to the individuals and businesses engaged in commercial real estate. This category includes public agency, non-profit, and student memberships. Enclosed in this packet is an Active Member application. 3 CREW TUCSON Confidential Application for Membership An applicant must have five (5) consecutive years (which need not immediately precede the time of application), along with current direct involvement in one of the following primary disciplines of commercial real estate. Current direct involvement means that such person (a) is currently working in and is actively engaged either exclusively or primarily in commercial real estate (i.e., all or most of such person s gainful employment or major source of income is in commercial real estate), and (b)(i) is involved in promoting and contributing to the financial well-being of a company, (ii) is in a managerial, senior level, professional, or revenue-generating position or capacity within the company, (iii) is in a decision-making position, or (iv) otherwise participates at a professional level in a qualified field of commercial real estate. Persons in those categories of employment that are not eligible for membership in CREW are individuals who serve in a support capacity, a staff position or an assistant/ministerial/secretarial position.
