To explore a range of beliefs and myths about HIV that may exist in different African communities and to develop practical skills to challenge these appropriately. 5. To explore and understand how stigma and discrimination can affect African people living in the UK around a range of issues including HIV. 6. To explore a range of influences that can impact on health for African communities living in the UK including gender, sexuality and religion. 7. To reflect on personal feelings and attitudes towards HIV and to recognize their potential impact on service delivery. 8. To explore some key issues affecting African people living with HIV in the UK and to identify examples of good practice. 9. To develop practical skills for promoting HIV testing and safer sex to African communities in the UK. 10. To consider a range of barriers to accessing services and how to overcome them. 11. To gain an overview of the Health Prevention England and the Ubuntu Scheme, to identify relevant resources, testing and support services, and to know how to signpost appropriately.

To explore some key sexual health issues for people with learning disabilities such as consent, managing emotions, parenting, privacy and confidentiality 2. To consider the meaning of sexual wellbeing for those with various types of learning disability and to develop confidence and skills in promoting their sexual health 3. To consider the sexual rights, responsibilities and choices of people with learning disabilities 4. To understand how people with learning disabilities can be vulnerable to sexual exploitation and harm and how to recognise signs 5. To develop skills in practice in raising the issue appropriately and empowering people with learning disabilities to communicate and negotiate effectively and to resist sexual pressure and exploitation 6. To consider the role played by family and carers, friends, supportive adults and professionals in developing positive sexual health for people with learning disabilities 7. To develop awareness of the legal framework for the sexual relationships of people with learning disabilities, and the law relating to professional practice in this area 8.
