April Burch Program Offerings The Business Administration program at DMACC offers the student a number of career and educational opportunities in the field of business. The program allows students to choose either an AA or AAS degree. 3 FOR STUDENTS ACBSP ACCREDITATION: How does it improve the value of your education? Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs West 119th Street Overland Park, KS USA t Quality Standards ACBSP accreditation standards are modeled on the Baldrige National Quality Program. Employers will find value in knowing you graduated from a school that uses the same standards as those used by businesses, healthcare providers and others to recognize excellence. A Better Job Earning your degree from an ACBSPaccredited business school will better prepare you to compete for the best jobs. ACBSP business schools promote close links with business and entrepreneurial initiatives. DMACC has PBL Clubs at all campus locations except Newton and Carroll. ACBSP-accredited business schools are committed to continuous improvement to ensure that your business degree gives you the skills you need and employers want. Your Educational Investment Graduates from ACBSP-accredited community colleges should find it easier to transfer credits to a four-year degree program. A business degree from an ACBSPaccredited college or university should make it easier to gain acceptance into an MBA and other post-graduate programs. ACBSP s student-centered teaching and learning approach is measured and analyzed for quality to ensure that you gain the right skills from your educational investment. Global Network ACBSP-accredited business schools form a global education network. This network provides member schools with access to exchange programs, study abroad programs, research programs and cultural enrichment for schools of all sizes. ACBSP is the only accrediting body for business schools that presents an award to outstanding faculty members in order to motivate teaching excellence. Students are recognized as major stakeholders in ACBSP standards. The Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) was founded in 1988 to create an accreditation process designed to fit the needs of business programs offered by colleges and universities by focusing on teaching and learning that occurs in the classroom. It is classroom learning is most important whether you are an entering freshman, graduate student or adult learner. Visit our website for more information:
4 FOR EMPLOYERS ACBSP ACCREDITATION: How does it help produce graduates who are ready to function in a global marketplace? The Value of Considering ACBSP Accreditation When Making Your Business Decisions. IN WHAT WAYS CAN ACBSP ACCREDITATION CREATE VALUE FOR YOU? High-Performance Employees Graduates from ACBSP-accredited colleges and universities are educated in programs that include the critical areas for business study. Common Professional Components (CPCs) ensure immediate contributions to your business. Graduates grounded in these critical areas of business study are more able to solve multidisciplinary problems and be effective decision-makers. Student-centered learning approaches are required that provide graduates with practical problem-solving skills, leadership abilities, data analysis, environmental awareness and good citizenship. Practical Business Skills ACBSP accreditation requires classroom learning to be measured and analyzed. Business schools must conduct a selfstudy to demonstrate how specific standards are being met, including strategic planning, leadership, stakeholder focus, and measurement of student learning. Strong Business Relationships ACBSP-accredited institutions are required to create and foster links with local employers to promote a vibrant local economy. All accredited schools have a business advisory board to plan programs, provide internships, mentor students, and consult for future skills requirements. Businesses in local communities are viewed as major stakeholders in a collaborative learning process. Global Network ACBSP actively recruits schools from around the world to create a global education network. This network of member schools promotes cultural enrichment for schools of all sizes. ACBSP is the only accrediting body for business schools that presents an international teaching award to outstanding faculty members in order to recognize and motivate teaching excellence.
