2 2 ICT Strategic Plan VISION ICT can be the enabler of changes that will transform the life chances of young people. The vision for student learning at Our School is the creation of authentic and collaborative learning environments where students can motivate themselves and each other to become self-sufficient, lifelong learners, able to utilize the opportunities provided by a wide range of technologies, including the Internet. PRINCIPLES The Parnngurr Community School ICT Strategic Plan identifies the strategies and initiatives that overarch decision-making, planning, and deployment of ICT services and systems across the Parnngurr Community School community. It is an outline of our future aspirations for the use of ICT, to sustain and grow our organisation as technology continues to evolve and the conditions and needs of the school change. The ICT Strategic Plan is reviewed annually. The Parnngurr Community School ICT Strategic Plan incorporates the following main focus areas; 1. FINANCIAL PLANNING COMPRISING; An annual equipment audit, including infrastructure, computers and services. Budget provision to ensure sustainable development and to allow for renewing old and defunct equipment. Identification of required resources, including technical support and security management. 2. INTEGRATION OF TECHNOLOGY INTO THE CURRICULUM COMPRISING; Consideration of the Australian Curriculum internet requirements The development of a school timetable which supports the integration of ICT into all classrooms Design and development of learning space layouts which address the needs of ICT integration. Design and development of a sustainable IT network which address the needs of ICT integration. 2
3 3 The school is able to lead and manage concurrent learning (where students learn together and in conjunction with a teacher) and distributed learning (where students may learn different things at different times and may be in separate locations 3. PROFESSIONAL LEARNING COMPRISING As part of the ICT Strategic Plan and based on individual teacher needs Parnngurr Community School provides access to ongoing teacher professional learning. It is expected that teachers will access professional learning in addition to that provided by the school or AISWA. i.e. peer learning. When appropriate Parnngurr Community School provides all teachers flexible learning opportunities? Performance Indicators The ICT performance indicators are utilised to assess progress against the ICT Strategic Plan, which also assists with measurement of performance against the Whole School Strategic Plan The performance indicators describe significant goal and milestones linked to the ICT Strategic Plan during its four year period. ICT INFRASTRUCTURE Operational Performance Indicators 2 students or less to 1 computer including flexible access to Laptops and other portable technologies. Support available 24/7 to all staff 100% of whole school connected to network (LAN) Flexible, stable access of all hardware to the network. Well designed and managed network. 100% of school classrooms have electronic whiteboards 100% of teachers have ipads 3
4 4 CLASSROOM PRACTICE Seamless cross curriculum ICT integration into teaching and learning with authentic links to Curriculum Framework, teachers leading and enabling colleagues Student centred approach with teacher as a facilitator, mentor or guide, ICT seamlessly integrated into teaching and learning practices. Engage in a range of online communities and activities to learn, share and collaborate, effective and critical users of online content STUDENT ACCESS AND ASSESSMENT All students can access ICT in multiple locations throughout the school, ICT access is flexible and negotiated throughout the day, ICT maybe accessed outside school hours. Teachers and students assessing using a range of traditional and digital tools to monitor ICT capability. Student use and achievement with a range of ICT tools is clearly demonstrated to parents through online publishing, digital portfolios, and inclusion in student reports. STAFF ACCESS All staff has easy access to ICT throughout the school. ICT is used seamlessly to analyse, communicate, share and report. Ready access to online communities to enable collaboration. A range of digital opportunities are available to foster two-way communication and sharing between home and school including digital portfolios, online forums, web cams, parent Internet forums. 4
5 5 PERFORMANCE INDICATORS The achievement of Parnngurr Community School goals and strategies are monitored through a range operational performance indicators defined within the ICT Strategic Plan. A number of these performance indicators have direct implications for ICT planning, and inform the generation of ICT related performance indicators. The ICT performance indicators are utilised to assess progress against the ICT Strategic Plan, which also assists with measurement of performance against the Whole School Strategic Plan The performance indicators describe significant goal and milestones linked to the ICT Strategic Plan during its four year period. OPERATIONAL PERFORMANCE INDICATORS ICT Infrastructure 2 students or less to 1 computer including flexible access to Laptops and other portable technologies. Support available 24/7 to all staff 100% of whole school connected to network (LAN) Flexible, stable access of all hardware to the network. Well designed and managed network. Availability and use of other forms of ICT hardware such as DVD burners, MP3 players and recorders, interactive whiteboards and other portable technologies ICT Professional Learning All staff taking advantage of a range of online, school and system opportunities, flexible approach based on staff needs, ICT integration linked to current learning theory 100% of teachers completing annually and linked to school ICT Strategic Plan and individual performance management 5
