1 JOB SCRIPTION JOB TITL: RPORTS TO: SALARY: OFFIC BAS: Welfare Support Services Manager Charity Manager 26,539 Full Time (35 hours per week) Penllwyn Millennium Centre JOB PURPOS To assist in the implementation and delivery of the isability Can o Organisation strategic plan by leading and being fully accountable for the development, delivery and promotion of the new welfare support service. To promote public awareness of the work of the isability Can o Organisation in Caerphilly Borough and surrounding areas. Getting the service up and running nsuring the team (staff and volunteers) provide a holistic and personalised approach to meeting the needs of beneficiaries. Building good working relationships with the local authority, statutory and voluntary agencies and other key partners. Building good working relationships with the welfare support services team Raising awareness of the isability Can o Organisation welfare support services in the County Borough and surrounding area. nsuring a clear exit strategy is developed for the service at least one year before the end of the current funding term. Liaising with Senior Management Team to ensure the service is well managed in line with its project plan. MAIN UTIS AN RSPONSIBILTIS Maintaining Operational Standards: To support the aims and objectives of the isability Can o Organisation. To comply with the culture and policies governing the organisation. To deliver services against agreed objectives, project indicators, plans and deadlines. To ensure operational standards are adhered to at all times. evelop mechanisms to ensure that service delivery is independently evaluated on a regular systematic basis by consulting with service users. Managing/elivering Welfare Services Key Internal responsibilities: stablish, induct, manage and develop the staff and volunteer team to best meet beneficiary needs in as flexible a way as possible. nsure all project staff and volunteers are appropriately trained in order to carry out their duties. eliver direct client support to those service users whose cases are regarded as most complex.

2 Provide specialist support to clients at tribunal hearings (when absolutely necessary). evelop an understanding of beneficiary numbers and needs within the area and reflect these in the welfare support services provided through an integrated approach. nsure services provided meet the required quality standards. Take responsibility for delivering services and support within allocated budgets. To process finances in relation to welfare services in a timely fashion. To ensure adequate cover for the delivery of the service at all times. To work alongside the senior management team to submit reports to funders as and when required. To ensure accurate and meaningful client/volunteer records for the purposes of statistical analysis and service delivery. Fulfil funding output requirements as a minimum, exceeding wherever needs and resources are viable. To provide regular quantitative and qualitative information evidencing the outputs and outcomes of the welfare support being delivered. Take responsibility for health and safety in the area under your control and ensure that you are familiar with the organisations policy statement on health and safety. nsure adequate risk assessments are undertaken for all the Welfare Support Service Activity. nsure effective allocation and management of volunteer resources, matching skills and individual expectations to the delivery of objectives. Key xternal responsibilities: Build and develop key relationships at local and area level with health and welfare organisations; with the aim of recognising and realising the opportunities these bring to further the work and reach of the isability Can o Organisation s services. evelop and maintain a thorough understanding of other organisations services and activities within the area and work in a close co-operation with them to maximise the services and support available to the disabled community. Identify potentially unmet beneficiary needs within the area and make the case for new service provision. Monitor provision of services by statutory bodies, highlighting and addressing gaps and shortfalls. nsure that knowledge gained and relationships established within the area are integrated into the wider knowledge base for sharing the overall benefit of disabled adults and their carers. Managing/Contributing to Marketing/PR To maintain a positive working relationship with the marketing/sub committee. With the support of the marketing team, act as the support service spokesperson.

3 Within an agreed programme jointly developed, use core messages and materials to foster effective working relationships with local media so as to further the reach and understanding of the isability Can o Organisation s work and services. To contribute to the development of material promoting the Welfare Services Support Services. To contribute to the development of a case study portfolio to assist with Marketing and PR activity. Managing/contributing to the team: To be a proactive member of the Senior Management Team. To advise and assist all isability Can o Organisation Staff/Trustees as and when required (this task applies to all members of staff). Managing/Contributing to Fundraising: Work closely with the fundraising team to ensure shared knowledge of plans and relationships and a co-ordinated approach. Identify opportunities for the promotion of welfare support services activity in the fundraising arena. Source funding opportunities for sustaining the welfare support services activity at the end of the funding term. Managing Self Cooperation job requires having a positive and cooperative attitude.
