15 This year 2013 Take Flight Leadership Aviation Fly Girls Chapter decided to have a Summer Aviation Boot Camp. The reasoning behind the camp was to educate the students and community about opportunities that are available in the field of aviation. We had special guest instructors to come out and support our youth and give them hands on skills and knowledge. Our focus mentoring is a critical leadership activity and whether it is formal or informal and organic, mentorship has long been a vehicle for building leaders. Mentoring initiatives can give opportunity for people to learn from one another in a meaningful way, can inspire personal mastery, and can be a rich developmental opportunity for organizations. The Aviation Leadership Take Flight leadership Fly Girls Chapter mentors students that are engages in their career in aviation (Youth Leaders), midcareer professionals (Emerging Leaders) and (Community Leaders) in the aviation community. We have a youth committee board and motivational speakers that are assigned to speak at events. Fifteen of our students pass the 301 chapter ground school Experimental Aircraft Associations the next day they flew with a license pilot for their first time and received a young eagles certificate. This allows them to receive their pilot book to earn more hours in flight if they wish to. Their names are entered into one of the biggest logbook WI.
16 Honorees we thank you for sharing your skills, education, and guidance in different career paths. The students that continue to stay in the program found their true passion in the field of aviation and military. A special thanks to the writers of the newsletter Epworth UMC, African American Voice Colorado Springs, Urban Spectrum Denver, Denver Post, Aviation Pilot News, Argosy University on-line news LA Voz Hispanic paper, and The Chocolate Voice Park Hill Community.
