1 ABOUT THE miami UNCF MASKED BALL At a Glance The inaugural UNCF Masked Ball is Miami s premier fundraising gala and a major social event, focusing on raising public awareness and large corporate and individual donations to support deserving students through UNCF. Hosted by a diverse group of corporate sponsors and local businesses, it involves celebrities, dignitaries, civic leaders, volunteers, public officials, alumni and others who support UNCF's mission of investing in Better Futures for us all by getting students to and through college. The UNCF Masked Ball also benefits Florida Memorial University, South Florida's only HBCU. GOAL $500,000 HOW Corporations and community groups are invited to support the fundraising event with the purchase of sponsor packages ranging from $3,500- $50,000. Sponsor package benefits include sponsor tables for your guests and recognition at the event and in related adver tising and promotional materials. Individual tickets are available for $300. Since its inception in 1879, the University has upheld a commitment to provide a solid foundation for thousands of young people and to open the doors to educational opportunities that may have otherwise been closed to them. As South Florida s only historically black college or university, it is widely recognized as the birthplace of the Negro National Anthem, Lift Ev ry Voice and Sing and the alma mater of Barrington Irving, Jr., a proud graduate of the aviation program and the youngest and first black person to pilot a solo flight around the world.
