Back up communications shall include the following methods: 1) Aurora Control Tower Ground Control frequency (121.7). 2) The signal light gun (see chart on pg. 5). After Operations & Command has been established Operations will then communicate with the Aurora Tower on the Ground Control frequency (121.7). When an emergency occurs on the airport proper between hrs, the Aurora Tower will control all air and ground traffic so as to avoid any conflicts in the area in which the emergency has occurred. This will also apply to land routes within the airport proper which are required for the movement of emergency vehicles responding to or returning from an emergency hrs Night Operations Aurora Tower Closed The Incident Command will continually monitor (Aurora Tower Frequency) for inbound aircraft intentions. When responding to an emergency at the Aurora Airport (ARR) between hrs all SGFD responding units will broadcast on (Aurora Tower Frequency) and announce emergency vehicle positions on the airport to alert inbound aircraft i.e. Command may designate an Air Traffic Communications (ARFF Trained) Chief to handle all aircraft communications when the Aurora Control Tower is closed. Aurora Traffic, SGFD Battalion 9 Vehicle is crossing runway / at Aurora Airport (ARR). Once announced as a fire department vehicle this can be deleted from all further calls i.e. Aurora Traffic, SGFD Battalion 9 Vehicle is crossing runway / at Aurora Airport (ARR).

It is produced to a stringent internationally agreed standard, has a flash point above 38 C (100 F) and a freeze point maximum of -47 C. It is widely available outside the U.S.A. Jet A-1 meets the requirements of British specification DEF STAN (Jet A-1), (formerly DERD 2494 (AVTUR)), ASTM specification D1655 (Jet A-1) and IATA Guidance Material (Kerosine Type), NATO Code F-35. JET A Jet A is a similar kerosene type of fuel, produced to an ASTM specification and normally only available in the U.S.A. It has the same flash point as Jet A-1 but a higher freeze point maximum (- 40 C). It is supplied against the ASTM D1655 (Jet A) specification.
