1 Project Manager (New Build) Role Purpose: is playing an exciting role in developing new affordable homes in the London Borough of Barnet. They are delivering an ambitious development programme of almost 500 new homes, primarily on infill sites, by 2021 and are in the process of applying to become a Registered Provider so that they can access grant funding. This role is in a new and rapidly growing team and is expected to bring enthusiasm and a can-do attitude to help shape the team and deliver these programmes of work. The project manager will help to identify and build a pipeline of opportunities and deliver an initial programme of 320 new homes by 2020, with aspirations to deliver a much larger programme. They will manage new build projects from inception to implementation and work with managers to ensure service policies and procedures are implemented. The post holder will promote the group s business plan and values both internally and externally and help to maintain a positive working relationship with internal and external stakeholders such as the Greater London Authority (GLA) and Local Authorities at a high level.
2 Main duties and responsibilities: Coordinate and manage the delivery of individual new build projects and related initiatives Support the development of the Group Business Plans and related corporate strategies and policies Adhere to and help implement the company s new build policies and procedures Assist managers with the development of new build improvement plans and ensure that plans are successfully implemented Manage own projects and project teams (internal and external partners) using standard project management techniques Deliver great customer care and be a good communicator to maintain key relationships Carry out research and analysis and prepare and present briefings Identify, procure, appoint and manage external professional and technical support as required to implement and deliver the development programme, including consultants and contractors Produce reports to deadlines and present information Demonstrate awareness of and implement health and safety issues relating to post Work flexibly to provide a seamless service and to fulfil the business aims of the Barnet Other duties as they arise to support the wider aims of the team Example outcomes or objectives that this role will deliver: Contribute to the delivery of 320 new affordable homes by 2020, including sites with GLA funding. Contribute to the delivery of an extra care scheme and developing proposals for a further pipeline of specialist housing. Identification of further development pipeline opportunities. Consultation and established relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally. People Management Responsibilities: None

Technical Knowledge and Experience: Education, qualifications and professional membership Desirable: Educated to degree level or equivalent Project Management qualification Membership of a related professional body Knowledge Essential: Gathering, comparing, analysing and interpreting data. Producing reports and presenting information to a variety of audiences. Extensive IT knowledge, including MS Excel. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to a wide range of people at all levels. Deliver excellent customer care. Ability to work in an agile manner and in a mobile way.
4 Desirable: Knowledge of using the Greater London Authority s Investment Management System. Use social media to learn, network and share knowledge as well as to promote projects and the industry. Experience Essential: Experience of producing reports and business analysis to deadlines. Experience of problem solving and offering a range of practical solutions to organisational issues. Experience of working with a range of staff including operational managers and departmental heads. Experience of working with external partners and organisations. Experience of running projects successfully. Experience of delivering great customer care and communicating well with clients. Desirable: Experience of delivering residential construction projects Track record of delivering quality affordable housing schemes. Experience of procuring works and services and utilising appropriate methods and systems. Understand and carry out financial appraisals of development projects. Understanding of and management of issues relating to the Planning process. Experience of working on grant-funded development projects and the requirements associated with this. Experience of delivering specialist housing such as for extra care user groups. Skills: Managing Change Builds and maintains relationships with a diverse group of colleagues, customers and partners to increase understanding Identifies and proposes opportunities to set up new systems and procedures, as well as to improve existing services, processes and procedures
