Job Title: Support Officer Base: Nottingham Salary Range: 19,218-20,860 (pro rata) Starting Salary: 19,218 (pro rata) Hours: 21 hours per week, part time Project Funding Date: March 2016 Closing date: Midday 27 August 2015 Interviews will be held week commencing: 7 September 2015 The Support Officer role is critical in ensuring that we provide the right support for our volunteers to carry out this important work. The role requires excellent understanding, knowledge and expertise in supporting the recruitment and training of our volunteers and supervising their activities on an ongoing basis. The role works closely alongside the other members of the team to ensure that volunteers are matched to the appropriate client, and that the relationship is safe, effective and supported. For information about CRI and their work, please see their website CONTEXT The post of Support Officer is an established grade within Sova. The role of the Officer is to take responsibility for specific aspects of the project s work as detailed below. All duties are to be carried out in line with Sova s current operating policies and procedures and any procedures of the partnership agency/funder that apply. PRINCIPAL TASKS 1. To take responsibility for specific tasks, including data inputting and collation; maintaining records; gathering information and general administration. 2. To take part in volunteer recruitment and selection by participating in volunteer interviews and contributing to decisions on volunteer selection 3. To deliver some volunteer training as agreed with line manager 4. To provide supervision and support to volunteers
3 5. To process participant referrals and deploy volunteers, process relevant paperwork. 6. To provide first line information and advice to volunteers, service users, police personnel etc. 7. To assist in the production and distribution of materials to promote the project s work e.g. newsletter. 8. To process returns, including monitoring returns, petty cash, sickness, expenses and other returns 9. To service meetings including preparing and circulating agendas, distributing papers, booking rooms and taking minutes 10. To contribute to the promotion of the project and Sova 11. To maintain productive relationships with partners including attending meetings, preparing reports etc. 12. To be self administrating 13. To contribute to meeting project targets and objectives 14. To line manage the project Administrative Assistant / Support Worker including taking part in recruitment, providing supervision and support conducting performance reviews and assisting in staff development. 15. To take part in regular supervision with line manager 16. To participate in the general development of Sova through meetings, training and attendance of other events 17. To cover any appropriate aspect of other team members roles in their absence 18. To carry out any other duties within the scope of the post

6 Summary of conditions JOB TITLE: BASE: Support Officer Various STARTING SALARY: 19,218 (pro rata) TOP OF BAND: WORKING WEEK: HOURS OF WORK: PROBATIONARY PERIOD: CONTRACT: HOLIDAY ENTITLEMENT: LEAVE YEAR: PENSION: TRAVEL AND SUBSISTENCE: CRIMINAL RECORD CHECK: ACCESS: SMOKING: 20,860 (pro rata) 21 hours Normal working hours are Monday - Friday, between 9 am and 5 pm. But this post will require the post holder to work some Saturdays and bank holidays. Overtime is not payable and Sova operates a time off in lieu system for any hours worked in addition to those stated. The post is subject to a six-month probationary period wherein one week s notice is required on either side. Once confirmed in post, notice is one month on either side This post is currently funded until March Whilst all efforts will be made to secure continuing funding, Sova can only guarantee the post until this date. 26 days per annum plus all public holidays (pro rata) April - March Those meeting eligibility criteria will be auto enrolled with Standard Life All costs other than home to office are reimbursed according to regulations and within budget Enhanced DBS Sova s policy is to facilitate access for people with disabilities through reasonable adjustments Smoking is not permitted in Sova buildings ANY OTHER Parking facilities vary according to location INFORMATION: Signed Job Holder.Date..
